Congratulations on achieving the speedrun world record for rudest service I've experienced in 40 years here in Riverside. 17 seconds, guys. That's all it took for one of your employees to vex my wife into losing her appetite and nearly crying. Walk in, get told there's a menu by the register, so my wife picks it up to look over it and is immediately reprimanded because "it's the display menu." Well genius, your display menu is folded therefore it needs to be picked up and unfolded to be viewed. Not sure why that was a problem that needed addressing, as it was not a laminated menu and there were 30+ more of them less than 2 feet away. Even if that didn't happen, wouldn't have gotten anything anyway. I've come here many times over the last 8 months and it's always been good. Today? It looked absolutely atrocious. I've seen better-looking pre-made pizza at 7-Elevens around here. Blasphemously dry, looked like it was made 12 hours prior and just sat around. THIN-SLICED, LARGE SLICES! SF Hole In The Wall is a well-known pizzeria in Riverside located right off the 215 freeway and nestled in a cozy shopping plaza. It's got excellent pepperoni pizza, I ordered two slices and my order was ready in less than 10 mins. My slices came straight out of the oven! Two slices were about $13 bucks all together. The ingredients were high-quality (sauce, cheese, meat), everything was fresh. SF has a few tables inside but it's not a large space. Most folks come in and order to-go. However, the place was full during happy hour on Saturday afternoon! SF HITW has a small restroom for guests. I took a trip to the restroom while my order was being prepared and I could hear my name called. Service was pretty speedy and solid, the only issue I encountered was the cashier leaving the counter unattended to chat with her coworkers. When I was ready to pick-up my slices about two minutes later after I exited the restroom, I found myself waiting in front of the counter. Thankfully, another staff member got her attention and we were back in business. My slice was in a warmer while it waited for me, they were super nice! I'll definitely return to this pizzeria! Haven't been to this shopping center for a while but this pizza place gave me a reason to return. What I liked is this place had beef pepperoni for those who don't eat pork. I had half cheese and pepperoni. The beef pepperoni tasted the same as your traditional pepperoni. I would say the pizza is similar to New York style, but not really cheesy. Pizza here is better than majority of pizza places in the IE, couldn't say that had better yet. I do give the pizza high marks for eating in the day after putting it in the oven. The cashier girl/slice attendee had a LONG chunk of hair that wasn't part of her ponytail swaying all over the slices that thankfully didn't get served to me, but to another customer unbeknownst to them. The inside is ok, two sets of customers sitting there at 5pm on a Tuesday isn't bad but it ain't busy. I ordered two calzones, mozzarella, ricotta cheese, sausage and pepperoni plus 2 Caesar salads. I took a little longer than expected, their fryer was down; not sure why Italian sausage would be in a fryer. Nice sturdy cardboard pizza box, not soggy; appreciated that. Small, clean pioza joint. Beers and soft drinks available, large menu. Service was very good. When I cut into the calzone at home, a liquid cheese came out instead of stretchy cheese, hmmm. For $15, it should've been stuffed with pepperoni and sausage, maybe I should've ordered more ingredients. Wonderful flavors, a good marinara sauce. We always order for delivery and order well done because it's a bit far from the place. We forget to select well done on the app so we called right away and the girl answered and said it's going to cost us 3 dollars extra for well done! I am pretty picky when it comes to my pizza but i will say I was pleasantly surprised when i went to SF hole in the wall pizza. We got their lunch speacil which included a slice of pizza and a beer ( we substituted for soda) all for 8 dollars. I chose to get the combo classic and my bf got the aloha slice. Both were a great size and covered with lots of toppings. My friend also ordered the phillycheeseteak fries which ended up being our favorite. A unique combination i have not had before and definitely will be going back to get again. Service was very friendly and fast we did not have to wait long for our food and they even walked it out to us as we chose to sit in their patio seating. Pizza by the slice and more, that's what this recent addition to the intersection of Spruce and Chicago brings. Occupying what was once the massive former location of Mario's Place, it's nice to have an Italian establishment reappear here. Inside there's a small dining area, and a display showing all the available pizzas by the slice, as well as pasta and other things prepared to order in the kitchen. My first visit was picking up pizzas to deliver, but i liked what I saw and ordered ahead online. Spaghetti and meatballs plus a slice of meat lovers, which was heated up and nicely boxed. The pasta was great great, too, and I got a second meal from that as leftovers. The slices are pretty hefty, and justify the $6-9 price range. Toppings are also excellent quality. The owners are very nice people and welcoming, I forgot to photograph the second visit items because I was so hungry, but I plan to keep working my way around the menu soon. read more

As a NY transplant, I'm always on the lookout for places that can recreate that East Coast flavor. This spot opened up recently and saw they sold NY style pizzas and slices. I took advantage of a DoorDash deal because why not save a few bucks? There's so much you can gauge about an establishment and quality just by their cheese pizza. It's simple and so delicious when done right and they got theirs right! It's got that NY taste. Thin crust that crisps up nicely on the outside but stays soft on the inside. Reheats really well in a frying pan! Also enjoyed their calzones. Included in the price is up to four toppings for the build your own. The restaurant does, in fact, live up to its name as it has a pretty quaint interior with only a few tables for dining in. You order at the counter and then they heat up each pizza slice in the oven before bringing it out to you. The pizzas are thin crust but each slice is pretty hefty--so much so that I couldn't finish my 2 slices. I ordered the cheese and veggielicious because those were the 2 only vegetarian options for slices. The veggielicious has a pesto sauce with spinach, feta, roasted peppers and basil. I much preferred it to the cheese pizza which I thought was pretty one dimensional and dry. It was missing that beloved cheese pull. The staff was really friendly and overall it satisfied my need for a quick bite that wasn't a drive thru, but I don't think it'll be my go-to place in the area for pizza. read more

Okay, this place started off strong -- but the experience went downhill pretty quickly. I placed my order around 1:00 PM, but my food wasn't ready until about 1:25. Instead of letting me know right away, they just kept me waiting without any follow up. If they had told me early on, I wouldn't have been upset -- I probably would've just taken the Philly sandwich and moved on. But instead, I was left standing there frustrated, watching everyone else get their food. Honestly, I was ready to write this review without even tasting the food because I had already lost my appetite. But to be fair, I gave it a try -- and I don't recommend their Philly cheesesteak fries. That said, I have had their calzone and pizza before, and those were good. So I'm not saying don't try this place -- they do have other tasty dishes. I just hope their service improves. Communication is key. If a mistake happens, be upfront with your customers. Don't leave them thinking the service is terrible -- that's exactly how I felt. If this had been my first visit, I probably wouldn't have come back or recommended this place to anyone.
