Service Blows... Pizza was good, but the overall experience was disappointing. Back in its heyday, Romano's had three locations, and all three started out great. Unfortunately, each one declined over time until it eventually closed, leaving just one location standing. After this visit, it's easy to see the writing on the wall. We were seated, and when our server came to take our drink order, we ordered our food at the same time to save time. There were only three other parties in the restaurant, and one had already been served. Despite that, it took 50 minutes for a single large hand tossed pizza to arrive you heard it 50 minutes for a hand tossed not a deep dish but hand tossed. I eventually had to flag down the only waitress to ask what was taking so long because we had a movie to get to. To top it off, we weren't offered drink refills until after we had finished our meal. The pizza was enjoyable, but the service was painfully slow and inattentive. It was a frustrating experience that reminded me of the long waits and lackluster service you'd expect at Shakey's, not the Romano's I remember. read more

I was with a party of 6 eating dinner and this large woman who was obviously with the Band setting up, Started moving tables/ chairs and told us we needed to leave or pay to stay, I explained we we're still eating and she started staring At us. This felt extremely uncomfortable, We hadn't received our bill and asked our waitress what to do? She just said sorry and walked away. We had to pay our bill At the Bar. It took over an hour for us to be served our food so why is it our fault that we are still eating when the band starts to set up? Never again we'll we go here to eat. We came here for my boyfriend bday dinner :) Caesar salad was good pretty average 8/10 we also got mussels and clams in white sauce and I was shocked by the amount we got but the sauce it was tossed in made up for it, so good! And lastly the Ramanos Combo Stuffed Pizza was amazing 9.5/10 and I've had lots of Chicago style pizza! They also brought out a bday dessert for him. The staff appeared untrained and unprofessional during our visit. My family and I were seated and ordered our food as usual. After our pizza arrived, we asked our server if we could have a small side of jalapeños or banana peppers. He said he would bring them over, but after waiting about ten minutes, nothing arrived. I went to the front to ask again because no one had checked on us. Another employee, a young man with spiked hair and jean shorts, asked if I needed help. I again requested a small cup of peppers, and he asked where we were seated so he could bring them over. I pointed out our booth near the wall and returned to my table. Unfortunately, he never brought them either. I even saw him pass our section several times while clearing tables without once asking whether we had received our request. Our original server also never checked in on us or offered water refills. We ended up eating our meal without drinks, and I noticed several nearby tables also having to get up and ask for assistance. Overall, the lack of attentiveness and communication made for a very disappointing dining experience. And the restaurant was quite empty. Not packed It is great to see young people working and gaining experience in the restaurant industry. However, if employees are not being properly trained to serve and attend to their tables, management should make training a priority or reconsider staffing so that guests receive the level of service they deserve. read more

It doesn't matter how good the pizza is when your service is garbage. It took forever to get seated because they had a problem trying to figure out how to put a big party of 8 somewhere, and there were at least 3 two people parties sat at four person tables, and they were clearly finished but just sitting there watching TV. Fine, but I'm here for deep dish, so let me get my pizza order going since it's going to take 40-50 mins according to you, but no, you can't order anything till you sit down. Then we find out you do take reservations when Yelp says you don't. We drove an hour to get here just to try your "famous" pizza and you could care less about taking care of your customers. When we finally did sit down, just to add insult to injury, our waitress didn't come to take an order for 15 mins! I wish a million times we had just walked out, but we ordered. The 40-50 min pizza took an hour and by then my kids were starving. This is one of the worst managed restaurants in the IE. They have no clue how to handle their volume and their policies and lack of communication on those policies suck. There were people who were waiting for a 4 top sitting in a 2 person booth and they never asked them to move to use the booth, and sat a two person group at one of the 4 person tables. Not such a warm welcome on Father's Day. Host was too busy worrying about his check out/shift review he ignored customers coming in. We were told a table was ready right away and then it turned into 20 minutes which turned into 30. It was not busy in the restaurant mind you. Many open tables. I recently made a reservation for 25 people to celebrate my son's graduation dinner, and they went above and beyond to make everything perfect for us. Located on Alessandro Blvd & Mission Grove Pkwy N directly across the Galaxy Theater with plenty of parking. We stopped by on Saturday night and were seated immediately. We recently visited Chicago, so we were craving deep dish. My friend recommended this place so we wanted to give it a try. As an appetizer, we had their 'Meatball Marinara' from their Quick Bites section, which tasted amazing. As entree, we had 'The Chicago Pie', a deep dish style pizza pie with spinach, artichokes, and ricotta cheese. The pie was flavorless imo, but that could be because we chose a meatless option. We still enjoyed it, but I can not say it's as good as being in Chicago. The restaurant is clean and organized with an adjacent full bar. While inside, it did remind me of being in a Chicago restaurant. There's plenty of TVs throughout showing a live baseball game during our visit. Service was great. Shout out to our server, 'Emily', who was extremely attentive regardless of how busy it was. We are back again but not for the food but for the small concert in the back of the restaurant. This time around we came to see the Led Zeppelin tribute band called Zeppelin Revisited. Twice we have gone out of our way to eat at this Romanos. A return visit for our family means the first experience was pretty darn good. So, could they do it again? Here are the dishes that raised our eyebrows, in a good way: Fettuccine Capriccioso pasta, a very interesting, flavorful, thick noodle pasta that included a complex, creamy pink sauce and chunks of good tasting meats. It was a very large serving that held its own even as leftovers. It got passed around the table of 6, and got enthusiastic thumbs ups by the 4 adults. Their crispy Calamari was so good, we ended up getting two orders. Everyone, but especially the two children at our table, were serious about this appetizer. And even though one order was a huge portion compared to other places, the two orders vanished. Delicious!!!! The cup of Marinara that came with it was eye rollingly magnificent. This is a reminder to myself to get dishes featuring their marinara. The Antipasto salad was quite a vision. Not only was it huge and topped with lots of deli meats, the presentation was unique. I loved how they placed filled rolls of meat and tomato attractively around the edge of the salad bowl making them resemble Japanese hand rolls. My only complaint was the creamy Italian dressing. This was its Achilles heel, not very good. I would have much preferred a different dressing, say an herbal Italian oil and vinegar. I recall them saying they did not have an oil and vinegar dressing substitute. On our second visit, we had a very simple Fettucini Alfredo, substituting angel hair pasta for the usual thicker noodles. The Alfredo sauce was super thick, maybe a bit too much so, but still very delicious. The next day, Mr B's solution was to thin out the leftovers with a touch of cream, and it was even better. He ended up making 3 meals out of this one entree. The items we were not as enthusiastic over included the Minestrone soup. Not so great, it was a thin vegetable soup lacking in flavor. Also, the thin crust Margarite pizza, usually a favorite of ours, was underwhelming. I've had better. In hindsight, we were pleased overall, and intend to keep this place in mind when travelling through the area. Lets give it a happy 4.5 star rating. read more

This one is the last one in Riverside, the thin crust pizza is delicious and our favorite. Our server Lilly was on point with her service, her attitude and people skills. We were at a table by the a stage. It appears they have live bands perform here. Sorry, I didn't take a lot of photos due to our discussions. They had reasonably priced lunch specials which ranged from $9.00 to $11.00. I opted for their spaghetti bolognese and found it to be delicious! I know everyone else liked their food. Sadly, I don't know how often we will return anymore. This used to be our favorite Italian/pizza place to have dinner/happy hour close by our house. We would go at least 2-4 times a month to have dinner here, but when we went last week we ordered appetizers and drinks during "happy hour" which at the end of the meal found out they no longer have happy hour in the restaurant only in the bar side which we always go to dinner with our kids so we never eat in the bar. Also, kids meals always included drink so I ordered 2 drinks for my kids come to find out also when paying that owner changed that also and drinks no longer come with kids meals, so I had to pay for their drinks that they barely touched, that's why I only order them a drink when it's included. The server said they recently made these changes. So I guess we will have to find another family friendly restaurant with happy hour specials that's not only in the bar! read more

This is our first time to this location. We used to go to the one in Creekside. For some reason it closed down. They said it was new owners who purchased the shopping center raised the rents. That's very possible. This location is extremely similar. It has a bar area along with a stage in the back and a small dining area in the front. The service was good, and everybody was pretty friendly. We ordered a stuffed pizza with mushrooms, pepperoni, and black olives. Like normal it takes about 35 minutes to get to your table so order right away. It came out hot and fresh and was spectacular. While we were waiting, we ordered antipasta salad. It was a little different in its presentation. It had bruschetta wrapped in mozzarella cheese around the outside of the salad. It wasn't too bad. We also ordered cheese bread, which was outstanding. It's unfortunate that they keep closing down locations. I know these are extremely tough times for businesses. Hopefully this one sticks around. read more
