Staff was very friendly and accommodating to get my fur baby in same day for daycare. Signing up on the site and uploading the required vaccination records was straightforward and convenient. They offer as late as 7pm for pickup time and the option to extend another 2 hours till 9pm, if needed, which really gave us enough time to enjoy the day exploring the city. My baby girl was returned to me just as I left her and didn't exhibit any weird behavior or anything afterward. Can't recommend these guys enough! read more

They mix dogs of all sizes into groups without supervision. Our 22 pound puppy was violated, and didn't walk right for a few weeks after we left her there. I should have known better. None of their staff is certified. I wouldn't trust them with your dog unless it's a big male. read more

We've been coming here for the last half-year and the staff at SF Puppy Love has always made sure that our dog is having fun and being safe. They've always been very kind and nice, and do the best they can as they manage several dozen dogs each day. Our workdays run a little long so when she is at daycare, she's there for 8+ hours, but she always has a bunch of friends to play with and is always ready to go to bed when she gets home. It can be tough to be away from your dog as you start them on daycare, but SF Puppy Love has made our time apart easier as I know our dog is having fun all day. read more

I've been remiss in not updating my review. I just saw the KTVU Fox News on the owner whose pup died after going to the Oakland Wag Hotel. I am THANKFUL that my pups are safe and happy at SF Puppy Love! After being back in the office post-COVID shutdown, I send my dog here at least once a week and have been thrilled with his daycare. Overall he has been attending for nearly 8 years. His socialization skills have greatly improved and he adores coming here. Learned about SF Puppy Lovefrom a coworker and my dog Olive loves going there!!! I've taken here there for several half daycare days and she's boarded there twice and I feel so comfortable leaving her there. Paul stays there with the dogs and he's so kind. I highly recommend! My dog came home with soap breath today. I called to ask what happened and the guy who was on duty stated that my dog probably licked some "mop water" off the floor. He explained "mop water" has cleaning solution with "very small amount of bleach" in it and "there wasn't a puddle or anything so you don't need to worry about it. Just give her lots of water and bread." First of all, why did you let my dog walk on wet floor that has toxic cleaning solution AND BLEACH? Why don't you try walking around bare foot all day and lick off the wet floor too? Then he tried to deflect and throw more excuses -- 1. "...Weekends are the only days we can clean." 2. "...We only use small amounts of bleach." 3. "...I got dogs to watch right now but I'm taking to you. It's been 45 min" No, the phone call was only 15 min which was a big deal to him. read more

Brought my dog here for years. And though it was never an outstanding experience (no updates for days even when regular updates were offered and requested, etc.), it was fine for what it was and we continued to go there on occasion because it was close by and their caretaker Paul is clearly passionate about and dedicated to dogs. But recently I boarded my small 6-pound dog with them for a weekend and he came home with a broken leg that required a trip to the ER and urgent surgery to reset the bones and put in a permanent metal plate with screws. The facility's response to the incident has been completely lacking in accountability from beginning to end. They claim that my small dog somehow muscled open a crate which was stacked on top of multiple other crates and jumped out, all without anyone even hearing the dog trying to open the crate though they supposedly "turned away for just a few seconds." They then informed me not by phone, but by text. When I responded to try to get more information about what happened (I tried multiple times), they ignored all of my messages. I finally had to call them to reach anyone for more details. And it was only after the call that I received any photos of my dog and his injury. They made it sound like he just had a sprain, but when I picked him up after returning from out of state ~24 hours later it was clearly a serious injury and my dog still couldn't put any weight on the foot. They did not bring my dog to the vet to get him medical treatment or attention at any point following the incident. And even though they apparently had CCTV footage of the incident, it is now conveniently overwritten and unavailable for anyone to review. Apparently no one thought to preserve the video even though it would have obviously been of interest to me and SHOULD have been of interest to the manager and owner as well. All they've offered me as a way for them to take responsibility so far is basically thoughts and prayers. When mention of accountability was mentioned, they simply hid behind the waiver they require everyone to sign. The waiver, however, specifically promises that they will care for the dogs with reasonable diligence and care, which they clearly did not honor here. Instead, they continue to try to place the blame on anything but themselves, continuously saying that dogs open crates all the time and this was simply an "accident" caused by my 6-pound dog, all the while failing to explain why crates are placed so high up to start if dogs really open them all the time or any of the other unbelievable inconsistencies and negligent treatment of my dog. I really wanted and tried to rebuild my trust in them, telling myself that if I saw them taking any sort of responsibility (whether financial or otherwise) I would give them another go or at least not write a bad review. But I am thoroughly disappointed at their attitude towards the incident. I highly recommend you take your dog anywhere else. read more

7 MONTH UPDATE- 08/2022: My almost 11 month old pup has quite literally grown up with all of her friends (dog and human) at SF Puppy Love, and she loves it! From the moment we park outside, she practically pulls me into the building to see her friends while her tail is wagging excitedly. In the last 7 months, the team at SF Puppy Love has cared for my pup during near daily daycare visits and periodic boarding stays. I couldn't be more grateful for how well they take care of her and how they treat her like their very own pup-relative. I cannot say enough good things about this day care! The staff is so kind and tentative to my pet Brutus! He is high energy bulldog mix so not ideal for an occasional walker or sitter. He's been coming for years (previously K9 playtime). I've had terrible experiences with Rover and Petsmart San Carlos (stay away!!!!). They provide updates daily and an overview at the end. I can relax knowing my dog is well taken care of and a reasonable price I might add!! My only request would be to have a camera where I can see Brutus during his stay but the pictures will do :) read more

Grooming review: I got the recommendation to come here from someone who lives in my building and owns a doodle. When I arrived the woman at the front was very welcoming. The groomer came out and let me ask any questions I had about what would/wouldn't be done during the grooming session. She was also very attentive when I was explaining my pup's temperament. Communication is important when taking your dog to the groomers (especially when this would only be her 2nd cut and a different groomer) so I didn't want there to be any "surprises." The front desk and groomer were also very accurate when estimating the amount of time it may take. When I went to pick up my pooch I was very pleasantly surprised at how nice she looked. She also came out and seemed pretty happy! I really liked my experience here and am very happy with their grooming services. If we could give SF Puppy Love a 10 star review we definitely would do so. Our doggy daughter "Winter" suffered from a lot of loss in a very short period of time. Sadly had gotten really bad separation anxiety. She hated being away from her humans. She would cry for hours. We were at our wits end on what to do. So we happen by luck to come across SF Puppy Love. There name says it all. They are so loving, kind, and gentle. They helped her and us to overcome the anxiety. Gave us the tools we needed to overcome what she was going through. In no time at all she was back to her playful, diva like self.
