I had my first massage from him today and I usually go to female practitioners, but he made me very comfortable and was very skilled. Wonderful oils, very skilled and hot towels at the end. I was butter! He didn't talk a lot or try to get to know me - but I was there for a massage. I get how some clients may want a more personal touch, but I was there for the sole purpose of a relaxing massage. That's exactly what I got. read more

The massage studio is impeccably, clean and charming filled with Buddhas a nice heated massage table. The bathroom is very clean. Juan is very neatly groomed. neighborhood is charming. It is easy to book. There is only one problem one seems to have absolutely no interest in his clients. He answered the door frowning. He told me that he wanted to enjoy himself and he needed people to relax while he was doing what he did and he needed to be able to do what he did Because he had so many years of experience to spite this initial rudeness I decided to try the service. He never once asked me how I was doing. He allowed me to tell him what pressure I wanted, and he adjusted the pressure I had told him I did not want any pushing or pulling or stretching, and he did all sorts of pushing, pulling and stretching. His moves were professional. He obviously knows what he's doing. Perhaps he prefers to work only on men and if that is the case, he should have stated that I don't know there was just absolutely zero heart and his rates are very high 150 an hour with an introductory rate of 130 I am also a Yelp provider of services And I knock myself out to give my clients what they are seeking and to always applied TLC. When I perform my service, it's not about me. It's about being of service. Clearly this is not the case with Juan. The music was very fast-paced and I'm sure that embodies his philosophy of getting people out the door as quick as possible. This is unfortunate. read more

Juan is a one-of-a-kind massage therapist. After a *very* stressful day at work with many deadlines, he eased out all the tension in my back. Even knots I didn't realise I had! Needless to say, I will be coming back. Note that Juan is flexible with his pressure and can change to suit your needs - at times I nearly fell asleep. His technique is also unique - being a traveled massage aficionado, I don't believe I've experienced something quite like it - a combination of deep tissue, Swedish and stretching. I found Juan through Yelp and I just had one of my best massages...and I like massages. Juan is very intuitive with the body. At the end of my massage, I felt completely relaxed with more space in my neck, shoulders and upper back than I have felt in years (my focal point request). Absolutely wonderful experience! I cannot say enough positive things about my massage with Juan. I have problems with tension headaches due to stress in my shoulder and neck muscles, so I needed a specialized treatment. This is exactly what I got, and more. He exceeded my expectations. First, he saw me last minute. I called and he was able to see me within the hour. I had a headache that was going on three days, so I was in a lot of pain. I scheduled a 90 minute massage with Juan because my usual massage therapist is in Europe for months, and I was a ball of stress, aches, and tight muscles and fascia. I was in need, and Juan had availability for me. The studio is convenient in the upper Haight, and Juan is gracious, warm and inviting. The lighting, music, and aromatherapy were immediately relaxing. I quickly filled out standard intake forms and he asked pertinent questions about what needed work and how I prefer bodywork. I have had a series of excellent bodyworkers in my over 50 years. Juan provided me an excellent and intuitive therapeutic massage. His handiwork demonstrated his deep knowledge of of technique and pressure. I opted for arnica oil because I was in such knots. He operated deftly at each swipe of his hands and each pressure point. It also was so comfortable to have Juan working on me, that any worries I may have had about how my tired, achey, post-holiday-gluttony body might have looked melted away. He fully put me at ease. Juan is a life saver! I was in some pretty serious pain after an overly intense workout and desperate for a massage. After a very late night yelp search of massage specialists in my neighborhood, I decided to send Juan a message first thing the next morning which he responded to within 10 minutes.
