SG Heating and Cooling certainly do practice terrible safety procedures and are completely unaccountable for damage they do to customer equipment and property. They left our furnace in worse condition, and did not perform service, but multiple disservices. They lie about what they intend to do and how badly they treated their customers. They apparently cut corners on multiple jobs, evidenced from the other reviews on the Internet, by having unqualified and possibly underpaid technicians enter your home without foot covering and then using tools incorrectly and shorting out the unit. They claim to be a contractor for Oncourse (formerly Pivotal), but Oncourse denies any accountability with this contractor. We had a clean-and-check performed by Oncourse on 1/25 by Carlos, and the furnace was deemed operable because the tech turned it back on after vacuuming it. SG was sent by Oncourse to simply inspect and provide a second opinion. They ensured that the furnace was inoperable by their actions and claimed a heat exchanger had scratches after they blew the electrical. The tech arrived at 1:07 after stating he would be there at 1:30. My husband, a college professor, was on his way back from class to meet at 1:30 and arrived around 1:20. The tech asked my husband "Why did you come here so quickly?" as if that had any bearing on his actions. In the first 10 minutes that the tech "worked" on the furnace, he managed to blow out the electrical components. The tech did not even mention or inspect or probe the heat exchanger until after he caused the electric to go out, stating it "popped" and claimed that ruined the ignitor. He had no prior knowledge of what the Oncourse tech found and was asking me about it. He then apologized for ruining the electrical part of the system and promised he would return in 30 minutes with a replacement ignitor to attempt to fix what he broke. SG claimed he was met with resistance, but the only resistance was that he had to answer difficult questions from my husband like: "What did you tell my wife, please repeat it so I understand" and "What did you do to make the system pop?" and "Will you fix what you broke?" and "What is that part you are taking off?" He was not comfortable with us observing what he did, which are obviously signs of weakness that we picked up on right away. Contrary to what the owner, Sandra Garza stated, the tech was combative and insulting to me and my husband. Naturally, having witnessed the tech destroy our system and then calling Sandra Garza who justified her company not fixing it stating the furnace was not repairable, caused by her technician's damage, we were very upset that our heat no longer worked because of SG actions and damage to our property. To try to cover for his inadequacies and incompetency, the tech told his boss he was uncomfortable, a complete copout. We witnessed him having worked himself up into an aggressive and adversarial tone after he burned out the unit, essentially lying about every aspect of the encounter. SG and the tech lied by telling us that the ignitor would be replaced. They lied about the furnace not working before they sloppily entered the home. They lied about the interactions between us as customers and the tech. They lied about the condition of the furnace to justify not fixing the damage that they caused. SG should be known to offer great customer disservice and never be used. Refuse to accept SG if Oncourse/Pivotal proposes to send them to your home. We did nothing wrong and are now being treated as a villain rather than a customer. We will have to incur thousands of dollars of repair work unnecessarily during the height of winter because of SG's ineptitude. This is the worst experience we've ever had with any type of business. Oncourse should make this right and hold SG accountable, and not use them ever again as a contractor. It is not Friday 2/2, and we have had no heat since Monday 1/29, and our child has been sick after having to live in an unheated home, ending up at the emergency room with strep throat. This is a cluster f*** that SG caused. SG is not a good company. I would deem them a 0 rating if it were available. read more

Technician came out to check working furnace after Pivotal did a clean and check. We wanted a second opinion to a concern Pivotal had with some scratches they took pictures of. The Sandra Garza Heating Company technician destroyed our furnace when probing it. It lost power and blew the ignitor. He said he would return 30 minutes later with a new ignitor. After an hour, I called Sandra Garza and she said they would not be returning and stated a series of lies about what occurred. The technician was incompetent, unaccountable. The company cowardly did not even try to fix what they broke and are hiding behind Pivotal saying the furnace is deemed, which is a term nobody can define. Based on a cursory look, the Pivotal technicians have the power to deem a unit without conclusive evidence. The damage SG did was not based on anything the Pivotal tech had reported, but the SG technician blatantly damaged the unit and was not held accountable to repair what he broke. This is a pathetic excuse for a company. read more

John was extremely knowledgeable and very accommodating. He came out and quickly diagnosed the problem and replaced our a/c motor on our old unit. When our unit did in fact die, John came out immediately and gave us a great deal on a new a/c unit. Office staff called frequently to communicate arrival time and updates on job. Awesome company!!!! Called them for my furnace not working and was able to get same day service before the holiday. They got my heat back on. I mentioned how bad of a day, I was having with my oven not working too. To my surprise, the technician told me they worked on appliances too, he fixed my oven. Thank you so much.
