Unfortunately the current management is lax and doesn't supervise the park. So unless a parent steps up to direct kids, a lot of children get into accidents. The owner has an anger problem. He loves to start arguments and pick fights with people. He seems to enjoy belittling people and bragging about how much money he spends. Because he is often smoking pot in his trailer, he sometimes yells at people using his trailer's PA system. As of writing, the photos shown on this yelp page are inaccurate. The track was modified 3 years ago, and is about 2/3 the size of what the first few photos show. There is no longer any artwork on the track.

Signs everywhere saying you need to pay and have a helmet. I have come here dozens of times and shocked by people's behavior and then reactions when they get screamed at. People try to sue these types of places weekly and you wonder why they flop out when you walk right by a large sign...! The dirt park is pretty intense and it's rad to watch the guys shred. The paved pump tracks are awesome for all levels of biker and skater. I got to watch some 3-6 year old shred. Personally can spend a couple hours there easily and if it's slow all day as lines are endless. Sign a waiver and pay 5$ .... a coffee is more. I couldn't believe it was so cheap. They have board and bike rentals again 5$ per hr.

Our Yelp team, 'Baby it's Yelp Outside', raised over $7K+ towards this charity and won third place in fundraising for NYC...Whoo Hoo!!! Thanks to all of my supporters and contributors in helping me reach my fundraising goals which added to the teams overall goal, couldn't have done this without you. As it was explained to me, this is one of the few charities that you don't have to worry about where the funds are going as it goes directly to the Children's Tumor Foundation and that in itself makes this particular event even more than worth it. Thanks to our Yelp NYC Crew, Drew, Sierra and Katey for being there. I was genuinely happy to see our Yelp table representing, as you always do. Thanks to all the Yelpers, friends and family that came out despite the extreme cold, very brave of you considering the weather conditions. This year it was clearly stated that you did not have to do the run, which a few people heeded. But that didn't stop some of the barely clad who did the shortened run by the Westside Highway, with car horns blaring, showing love or better yet wondering what the hell is going on with hundreds of people running in their unmentionables...that was a funny sight to see. Also, thanks to Brian N. who made me aware of this charity a few years ago and Alexandra K. who ran our cool team of Yelpers this year by keeping everyone informed and pretty much managing all things necessary for our teams success. Awesome afternoon dance party with underwear wearing fund raisers, what more could you ask for? Oh, I know, temperatures in February slightly above freezing.

I'm so glad I found this run because besides being a really cool route - running thru the Brooklyn battery tunnel (sorry, I'm old and still call it that) from red hook, Brooklyn - it also was the one of the most inspiring stories I had heard about 9/11. It commemorates the route from red hook to Manhattan an off duty firefighter took from the tunnel to the site of the towers, with all his gear on, after they'd closed the tunnel to traffic. Because of that it's a little longer than a 5k (I clocked 3.68 miles). Tons of firefighters and police run the race in uniform- it's an enormous race with 30000+ people, and there's also lots of regular people too running. As you come out of the tunnel, there's firefighters and military personnel holding up pictures of people who lost their lives and also cheering everyone on and high fiving you as you run by. It was kind of amazing and even though I didn't lose anyone on 9/11 its very emotional and makes you proud to be an American. They put on a huge street fair with a ton of food - burgers hot dogs ribs pizza donuts beer...and fruit too if you were trying to be healthy. A band I guess performed too. The line to take the wall st ferry to red hook was early (7:30 am cut off or so) and huge, even by 7 am when I was in line but it was an amazing race...i highly recommend!

We…read moreall retraced the steps that Firefighter Siller took from Brooklyn to the WTC during the 9/11 attacks. On 9/11/01, Firefighter Siller was off duty when he responded to a radio alert that the WTC towers had been hit. Since he was not permitted to drive through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel, he strapped his gear on and went to the WTC by foot. Unfortunately, he as well as the rest of his squad (Squad 1) all perished. Thus race is in honor the memory of all of those firefighters, police and EMS who perished on that day. This race was very well organized, well sponsored and was even televised on CBS. Gary Sinise as well as his band performed and former Mayor Giuliani started the race off. This was a very nice race and is for a good cause. Highly recommended.

I'm not a runner…read more No. I'm one of those people who wear fancy workout clothes and get out of breath after a minute of "running". So why did I sign up for this? I wanted a fancy medal! Of course, the one year that I signed up for this, they decided NOT to give out medals and to give out tech T-shirts instead. I guess I'll wear my tech tshirt instead of a medal while training for my next race. It was pretty cool running past the unisphere, museum, fountain (which did not run this year -- what, are they getting cheap with water too?!). Mile 1. This is good. I'm gonna keep running. Yeah. I'm almost at mile 2. Mile 2. Okay I did a mile. I'm gonna slow down a bit. Yeah. Mile 3. Why did I sign up for this again? Oh right, the medal. Yes. I've done 5Ks before, I can do this. Mile 4. LALALALALALALALALALALA Mile 5. Wait. Am I done with mile 5 or did I just start it? Where am I? I'm so confused. HEY THEY'RE PLAYING MY JAM!!! (Backstreet boys) Mile 6. I'M DONE I'M DONE I'M DONE!!!! I even turned in my fastest competitive 10K time, ever. One of the downsides is the ever increasing overcrowding issue that plagues these runs. It's a little annoying to be bumped into by many people. Give me some space, man. Another issue (my take) is not having the first water station right after the 1 mile marker. I think this should be a must, especially during what is probably the hottest run of the year. But overall, I like this fast and mostly flat run. Glad I ran it today and did well.

So much easy and you don't have to do the long line. Third! Check the free samples before you do the race! After the race the lines are extremely long !!! The race starts inside the mets stadium! You can take pictures and spend a little time inside the stadium and on the field! After the mets stadium you will find the Different stations of colors! You can actually play with them ! Take pictures! Sit on the floor! At the end they are giving medals and more color powder! It's extremely fun ! You can go with your family! no matter the age ! Kids ! Seniors! It's a fun family activity! Extremely reccomend!!!

Be warned you sometimes have people literally rolling on the floor in the color areas... which already has somewhat limited view due to all the color powder, so be careful and jump over them... I recommend bringing a bandana of sorts to cover your nose and mouth when running through the areas they throw the color powder... it tastes nasty... The coolest part of this race is running through Citifield... like on the field! you bet I #selfie during that part of the run.

The races I enjoyed the most are the Rock and Roll Sponsored Races. I know of at least two I have attended in recent years. I get lots of exercise walking through the location seeing everything. I stop and talk to the vendors and sponsors. They're wonderful taking my photo and giving me free samples. BUT, the best part is the music. I hear lots of bands and they always have a featured popular group perform after the race. It's a huge crowd making it necessary to keep up with each other's whereabouts by phone. I've never had a bad experience. The location is close to public transportation. I get happy just remembering all the fun I've had. I'm so proud of all the racers. They certainly deserve the beautiful awards they received. There's nothing better than being acknowledged for athletic activities!

In 2017 they also offered a 5 Miler in which I ran on October 14 the day before the half marathon. Shirt and bib number pickup was smooth and easy at the Javits Center. As I live in Manhattan it was a breeze to drop by on my way home from work and take care of this. Race day we needed to be up super early for a 7am start time at Grand Army Plaza. It was 60 degrees out and a bit humid but I like those running conditions. The race ended in Prospect Park. I saw plenty of water stops, medical tents and porta potties on the course, along with groups of spectators cheering us on. Race course was well marked, with event volunteers helping out and keeping an eye out on the participants. Sweet medal and goodie bag handed to us at the finish line. The post race party in the park featured a beer tent where the finishers were treated with free ice cold brews. Now that is how to celebrate a successful race finish! I thought the organization did a great job with this at the time. Too bad they did not come back to NY afterwards.
