Many of the vests/guns were broken. My son wanted to buy snacks but was given the run around by several different staff. He ended up not being able to buy snacks. The card machine for the arcade wasn't dispensing cards. The staff was unwilling to help. One staff told my son to wait at the counter. He waited for several minutes. When a crowd of kids began to gather around the counter, a staff member eventually showed up. My son was told by staff that he needed to wait for a manager because she didn't have the "pin." She was unwilling to call the manager and wasn't sure where he was. By the time my son found the manager, he said the register was closed. My son was looking forward to laser tag, but left sorely disappointed. read more

Laser room the staff sold us and then when we tried it, another staff member told us they couldn't get it working today. Then why was this even offered? I love this place. We hosted a party here a couple years ago and it was a great experience. For the price they have someone help set up, you can get a cake and bring your own food in. It has a 80´s roller rink/ Stranger Things arcade vibe. They have drinks and snacks. Had a good time here with my boyfriend and his little sister (12) and our friend. Unfortunately I did get scraped by a staple or screw or nail sticking out on the wall of the laser tag arena. I alerted the staff member and within seconds he was at the wall with a flashlight figuring out what scraped me and took care of it. Good response, though concerning it happened in the first place. Luckily no open cut, but might be something to watch out for. The staff was otherwise very kind and the facility OK. Bathroom was very unclean - would have liked it a bit cleaner. Place looks abandoned from outside - not necessarily a pro or con, but certainly hard to find (drive through the gas station to get there!) and can't be good for business. Also my laser gun was stuck in russian....... not particularly helpful. The staff member said "oh yeah some other staff member who doesn't work here any more did that as a joke and I haven't figured out how to fix it." But it's gun #4 which probably means it is always in rotation as a lower number... they need to remove that from service and fix it... Also not nearly enough AC. The upstairs ramps were so hot most of us didn't bother going up there during the game as we couldn't tolerate the heat and sweltering stuffiness up there. Anyway. After 3 games (2 vs games and 1 free-for-all) we were wiped and called it a day. All in all, had fun for a brief time. Leaves a bit to be desired. Wiped out the 12 year old. read more

This is primarily for Fred and his team managing the laser tag for our group. We showed up on a Friday afternoon to an almost empty venue and received exemplary service. Fred and the other staff working went above and beyond to make sure our group - parents and kids - had a great time all around. The young man who "briefed" us was entertaining and fun for kids and adults. I went here with a large group of people and found this a great place to play laser tag. It reminded me back in the days when I used to play at Funtime America in New Jersey. Two floors, the dark and disorientating music, and everybody's running around shooting around aimlessly like a 5 year old given his first BB gun for Christmas. The atmosphere is absolutely kid-friendly, but adults can have fun here too. The staff is real friendly and funny and wants to see everybody have a fun time. I really had a fun time here and wish I could have stayed longer so I could really get more out of the experience. Played glow golf. That was fun but short; only 12 holes and none are particularly challenging. Then we moved into the arcade area. Overwhelming majority of games were out of order. No air hockey, no basketball, no skeet ball, etc. Those that were working not necessarily working great either. For example, the balls were very slow to dispel on the clown game, which is timed. Caution: machines did not always credit the playing card with points. Also the card machine in back of the arcade did not reflect the same balance as was told up front. Huh? There was no one working in the arcade area either so couldn't even get prizes. Asked the only 2 employees I'd seen the entire time we were here about the games being down and points not being recorded correctly and all we got was attitude. They obviously aren't getting paid enough to care about customers. WTH? Definitely walked away feeling ripped off. Yeah, not coming back. read more

Out of all the laser tag places in this area, this location is great! The arcade, laser tag room, and mini golf rooms are very well maintained. The staff are also very nice and have a great sense of humor. Since we bought three laser tag games and wanted to try mini golf, they actually switched the laser tag game for mini golf. That's very nice of them. They also provide the safety briefing in person as opposed to the videos you see in other places. Finally, I like how they have staff walk around to make sure you're safe. The only improvement I suggest is that they have low walls in the laser tag room. Big adults probably hit their head more than they should. I had some near misses!!! read more

Went with my family and grandkids to try out the Springfield location this past saturday. I had so much fun playing the putt putt. (I'm way too old to play the Lazer tag. Lol) but my son's and grand. Babies ( i say babies, but they are 7 to 22yrs old) had a great time doing it. Gaithersburg is closer to me, and I love the crew there. But, I must say Fred and Collin were so sweet and kind the whole time and the place is very nice. I enjoyed the pretzel and the glass of wine. Could us a few more air fresheners as all the people were sweaty and smelly. Will definitely visit again in the future. God willing. read more

Hey all, i took my niece and nephews to shadowlands in alexandria va over the weekend, we played 2 rounds of laser tag and a round of mini golf. the laser tag was way cool and the kiddos loved it. The mini golf was only 12 holes but was in my nephews words (Awesome) they loved the decorations and the dragons and stuff. we did get an arcade card and even though they did have a few arcade games out of service we found plenty of games to play and have a good time, when i asked the guy in the red shirt about a few of the games, he said they were waiting on a few parts to come in. he did say that some of the kids are very hard on the games and damage them but in most cases its a part that failed and it takes time to get new parts. All in all we had a great time and will be back. read more

For planning a large school group outing, Shadowland - and specifically Gene - was terrific. I tried working with ZavaZone, Ultrazone, and GetAir to plan a field trip for 98 5th grade students. I could hardly get anyone to pick up a phone or return a message. After two days, I'm like, I guess they don't want my business. So, without even getting the details on the competitors I called Gene back and confirmed. We talked for about a half hour, working out the logistics and the prices. I'm in love with this place. During Covid it felt very safe, the employees would go behind and wipe the games down after each play. The laser tag, maze light, and putt putt was awesome. A good place to spend a rainy day with the family, or host a kids birthday party. We have been here several times, and each time everyone had fun. The staff has always been nice, and the place is somewhat clean (clean for a kids amusement center). The lazer tag games are pretty fun in that they vary in terms of objectives and rules, so the staff attempts to change things around. There also seems to be more then enough equipment to go around. They have a small arcade area that can be pretty dated and some machines where not working. I hope they update and fix this soon. Other then that, a good solid family outing. read more

Your typical laser tag place. Definitely A-OK. the arena itself is 2 levels and not huge but it can make you break a sweat. I like how the laser beams are visible when shooting unlike at some lasertag places where you can't see the lasers coming out of your gun. The staff are good and helpful. If you're reading reviews of this place cause you're thinking about going here... do it!! If you're reading reviews of this place for any other reason, you're weird. But you should go here anyway! It is SO much fun! We played Laser Tag when we went to Florida and we really wanted to find a place around here. We ended up going to Shadowland. Yeah, when you walk inside it doesn't look fancy. There's art all over the walls that make you feel like you're in a video game from the 90s. The staff members are all young teens just working their shifts, but none of that really matters cause the Laser Tag is so fun! The first thing you do when you get there is fill out a form/waiver and you also get to choose your nickname, which is awesome because this will be the name when you tag people and on the scoreboard. You pay ($16 a person for two 15-minute games, trust me, it's worth it), get your ticket (make sure your nickname is spelled right, they spelled ours wrong and we had get them to fix it), and then you wait for them to announce your game, which took about 10 minutes. The laser tag area is so cool, there's lots of hiding spaces, and you have ramps to go upstairs and tag people from above. You can hit the "gems" on the wall, and you can get powerups like invisibility. It makes you feel like your in a 007 game from Playstation 2! Haha. It was a lot of fun, we were all running around tagging each other, and getting points like little kids playing video games. It wasn't really busy either, I mean we had probably 2 other small groups of people playing with us, but nothing crazy. I had a blast! I can't wait to go back. read more

Went with church group of 27 teenagers on a Sunday evening for youth group and it did not phase them at all. Staffed led by an experienced adult which eliminated some of the confusion that exists at their competitors. Plenty of party hosting rooms, large arcade, a variety of scenarios for laser tag play which are rotated each session. The only issues was a fairly significant percentage of laser packs having battery issues during the rounds which cut down on the entertainment value for those impacted. Definitely became my #1 option for laser tag in NoVa. read more

I took my nephews to the Alexandria location this evening. I am very disappointed by the individual attending the cash register. This is my first ever visit to an arcade/laser tag facility. Since I am a girl and a newbie, I had many questions (e.g., how many minutes per each laser tag session) and the cashier was very rude and impatience with me. When I expressed my disappointment and suggested that it would be nice if he show a little courtesy and patience to folks new to the facility, he became very defensive and threw my credit card on the ground. I felt very threatened and sadden by this experience.... Aside from the mean cashier, the gentleman who showed us how to play the laser tag was very nice. I had a lot of fun playing laser tag here. They have a lot of arcade games for you to play as you wait for a laser tag game. They have food that you can order there and prices for laser tag games are decent. The staff was professional and you could tell that they thought our safety was very important. They explained everything to us before the game and they took the rules seriously (not like some laser tag places I have been to). The only thing that I had a problem with was that they didn't have enough laser tag games so we ended up waiting for a longer time than playing. My wife and I brought out my 7 year old nephews for an afternoon of fun. Unfortunately we didn't know it was a horror-themed laser-tag experience which ended up being terrifying for the kids. And here's my pickle with the whole experience: 1. Why weren't we warned about the theme of the adventure beforehand when they knew we had children the age of 7? They knew their ages because we had to fill out a form for each. 2. We fell for the trick of buying multiple passes to play more than one round. Well guess what, they won't refund you the balance even if you ask to remove the discounted rate and charge you the full amount. They claimed that there's signs that say there are no refunds (I didn't find a single sign saying that) And on top of all that, it was the shittiest laser-tag experience I've experienced by far. Do yourself a favor: stay away. There's another one in Bailey's Crossroads that's heads and bounds better than this place as well as another one in Manassas at the same site as the Autobahn Speedway Go-Carts place. read more

This place is the best - mainly because of the awesome laser tag. It is the real deal. Throughout the game you can see on your laser gun what rank you are out of everyone, and then you even get your own personalized printed out score sheet. It tells you exactly which players (everyone gets to use an alias like "Laser Prince") hit you, who you hit, how many points you scored, and what rank you were. There are GEMs that you can shoot to get bonus features (invisibility, power shots, etc.) and the GEMs even can hit you if you stand in front of them too long. They explain this all at the beginning of each game. The rest of the place is a lot of fun too. Yes, a good number of machines are out of order or not working - but they have more than enough to keep you entertained for hours. The laser tag is still the real highlight - and two games for $14.50 (on a weekend night) seemed reasonable. read more

Laser tag was really fun and you got a long period of game play for your money. The game itself has fun power ups and course layout and the gameplay is pretty intuitive. There's even happy hour in Fridays that offers a lower price per hour! The arcade was fun as well. It's smaller but has a good amount of variety. Any game issues were fixed immediately by the staff, who were very helpful and friendly. The laser maze was a great fun as well and I haven't seen one at other arcades. I have been there this last weekend and was surprised in how much fun it is . The place looks very sketchy , not very pretty from outside . But the part of laser tag is very fun. We didn't had any problem with out vests or guns, the staff member were very friendly . First round we had to play with some kids and we were separated by groups and colors . Second time we played there was no young kids and there was no groups either . S* got serious hahahaha .. So much fun . I would love to see some decoration upgrade there and why not on the food too? Stopped here on a late night excursion and the place was pretty cool. The prices are more than affordable and it's a great place for you to have family fun. They even allow you to reserve area's for you to have a party for adults and children. My friend and I was able to get two rounds of laser tagging for less than forty bucks. They do inform you of the rules and how to operate the laser tagging equipment. There is also and arcade in the back and food choices. They do have free parking that is on other side of the facility. The con is that we almost missed the location on the GPS due to it being located behind the shell gas station. That's the only reason I gave it four stars as oppose to five. I've been there for multiple parties throughout the years, including my own, and every time we have a blast playing laser tag, the laser maze, and the arcade games. The employees are always well-organized, professional and friendly too! Yesterday we went to ShadowLand for a birthday party but unfortunately the birthday kid's laser tag vest malfunctioned during both of our games.
