They are arguing that this fee is necessary to improve services and technology, etc., which, from my perspective, should not be at the expense of patients, but a responsibility of the business owners and stakeholders who want to be in the health care system and should have a sound investment and business strategy plan instead of having clients paying for the business they want to have. Unless, they are on purpose creating a membership-like model to access OBGYN health care, to appeal to a very specific clientele, in which case, they should be transparent about it, instead of imposing such a fee under the disguise of betterment of their services, and inadvertently, rendering the services possibly discriminatory and less accessible to some extent. Either management did not put a lot of thought on this, or they did, and simply did not care. In addition, there seem to be a lot of turnover, and their licensed providers (who for the most part and in fairness, are pretty easy going), have significantly decreased from when I started going years ago. Only at the beginning I had a consistent provider but that has changed in the past 2 to 3, when I can be seen by whoever is available. Depending on who you talk to whether in billing, front desk, checkout, you may also be faced with somewhat condescending approach, but I am not sure if that is due to unprofessionalism of some of the staff, or if it is a symptom of how they are treated by business management, and they are just simply burned out, with clients and patients ending up as unintended collateral damage. Given the decline of services, providers and quality of customer service over the years, I had been considering switching practice already, but this imposition just did it for me. I rather pay more in insurance, deductible and co-pay for better services altogether, than make my health care dependable on whether I am willing to pay for what seems to be an annual membership fee, which at the end, will not guarantee better care, because it is a matter of integrity and not profitability. In my opinion, it is problematic that for a health care and medical practice the quality of services is contingent upon increasing or imposing additional costs to the patients, instead of making it a stakeholders investment and accountability.

I valued her approach of adjusting my protocol for each stimulation to try improve the results and then following a transfer protocol that put me in the best possible position for success. Never in my life have I ever felt like a number the way that Columbia fertility clinic has treated…read moreme I began my official first cycle of I UI February 2024 of course that was a discrepancy due to the fact that prior none of Dr. Sacs Nursing team or administrative team reached out to me to do a follow-up appointment from my previous blood work that was examined And so I had to start my treatment on day 6 instead of day 5 The first IUI cycle failed and of course I asked Doctor Sacs what happened and he could not explain Now mind you I just did an HSG exam with him January 2024 he asked me about my right ovary but insisted that it should be nothing that will harm me getting pregnant He then assisted with my second I UI cycle suggesting that in my exam for my blood work and sonogram that I may have a little of endometriosis But never stated to go and find a second opinion But encouraged to still do the procedure because once again he said it should not prevent me from getting pregnant now mind you I have had 2 IUI cycles that have failed back-to-back And so I went to get a second opinion come to find out I had a cysts on each of my ovaries. Yet Columbia fertility wants to go behind a past application to make me pay for genetic testing that was never discussed about treatment nor my results and would still not discuss with me What is causing my infertility issues. Now mind you the week prior after the I UI injection my body is always fine according to my blood work however somewhere between day 9 today 14 of the cycle things start to take a turn and every time I reach out to speak to my Doctor who happens to be "Dr. Sacs" He is nowhere to be found or he's always in a meeting it's always some excuse that either the front desk or his nursing team or the administrative staff has to cover for him. I encourage you to please take precautions if you decide to choose this fertility clinic because you can go miss diagnosed and have to So much emotional damage trying to conceive with this clinic only for them to take your money for fast rendered services. She taught my husband a support move for laboring that saved me getting to 6cm dilated while I had intense lower back contraction pain and we said we would pay the whole investment of having a doula for that 1 move alone :) After coming home, Celina did night care 2x nights a week literally coaching us and everything from breast-feeding tactics to bottle sterilizing to best holding positions for gassy baby, how to get her to sleep well ... Swaddling!! And so much more! Also, mom healing questions and practices (or "is this normal" texts) -- she is a vast source of information and support, I just could not imagine going through this without her! We felt equipped with what we needed for each step, but never overwhelmed.
