Less than impressed, would not use them again. Also, not a very good value and they switch and bait pricing. Bought the Groupon since we just needed a few small areas touched up. They showed up with a trailer which seemed cheesy, in addition to the $37(1/2 off $75) deal they added an automatic $20 which I assumed incorrectly was in the fine print(found later that it was not) and $70 for stain resistance. Their equipment broke and it took them over an hour to fix it,( an hour to figure out it was a clogged nozzle?) all while the front door was wide open on a 90 degree day, wanted to tell them to leave but at this point they had already sprayed stain remover etc. so just prayed we would get through it. Cleaning turned out ok but wetter and "rougher" than any other professional cleaning have had done. They also tracked through the house about 50 times and had filthy hands, left puddles of water so cleaning was offset Guthrie messes. Next time prefer to pay full price and get it professionally done for the same $ at the end of the day. read more

We've used Shaggy's several times and always been really happy with the owner David's work. In fact, the last time we called up Shaggy's was when we needed some SERIOUS help with some drama left by some of our renters and what appeared to be a zoo of animals. Talk about a hot mess... Anyway, David came in and worked really incredibly hard to get the stank out of the house, and the end result was nothing shy of a miracle. The carpets looked amazing. David was very easy to work with and a super nice guy. It's obvious he really cares about his customers, because he went the extra mile to help me with this hot mess I had on my hands. :) Yay! Quoted price of $125 on the phone for a third-floor cleaning. Upon arrival the cleaner changed that quote to over 200 dollars because he did not have a long enough hose for a third-floor cleaning and so had to do a more expensive cleaning method. Would have chosen a different cleaner if I had known that they could not perform the steam cleaning I needed. read more

When I moved out of Phoenix, Shaggy's got us our deposit back. They were straightforward about how much it would cost, and took out pet stains that I was sure would require new carpeting, and the loss of our deposit. David was a nice guy, and made me feel okay about the fact that being an adult sometimes requires you to spend money on cleaning carpets. But still, better to spend a little bit on cleaning carpets versus spending a lot on new carpeting, even if it's super soft shag carpeting and you can sleep on the floor and listen to Pink Floyd records. Shaggy's is an excellent business and I will refer them to anyone looking to have their carpets cleaned, water damage fixed up or air ducts filtered out. David came to our rescue with an emergency water issue and stuck through it with us until it was all cleaned up. We had just bought our home and hadn't even moved in. We called on an emergency and he was there within a couple hours. Considering how late it was and how long he stayed to set up his blowers and dehumidifier, he was worth every penny. And his prices were even reasonable. He checked in every day and made sure even after the issue was fixed that we weren't having any more trouble. In the interest of fairness, I will list the good things about my experience Shaggy's Carpet Cleaning. They responded to my request quickly and managed to fit me in on short notice. The person who performed our service, Shaun, was very professional and courteous.We knew the carpets in our apartment were a lost cause, and honestly we were just after the receipt, so we truly appreciate all of Shaun's efforts. However, I am disappointed to say that I felt the price paid was exorbitant. My understanding when I initially booked this job was that I would pay $125 for a basic steam clean in a third floor apartment, with the option of adding on VLM cleaning for an additional fee. The day of the appointment, we found out that there was not enough hose to support the steam clean, and that VLM was the only option, which ended up costing a lot more ($210). I am happy with the job done, but it was significantly over my budget. After the job, I received a call from David, the person with whom I initially booked the appointment. My husband had left a negative review that I was not aware of, and David called to confront me about this review, and request that it be changed/removed. I find this practice extremely unprofessional and upsetting. David was immediately defensive throughout this conversation, and offered no solutions to perhaps change our minds. David came off as rude, and to be quite honest, I found this phone call to be completely inappropriate and bordering on harassment. I won't hire Shaggy's again simply due to this inappropriate phone call. read more

MY EXPERIENCE WAS HORRIBLE! I had Shaggy's come over and clean my house a couple weeks ago and I was very unhappy. David the owner forced me into feeling like I had to "upgrade" or else my carpet was going to be dirty. My total bill came close to $800 which I was reluctant to pay. But what can I do when he's already there and his hoses are already stretched out? When I told David the price was higher than expected; he gave me attitude and told me to call another local company and he himself would do a price quote over the phone. Once we did that, his price was overly expensive and his only explanation was he will do a better job than anybody else. My house is being rented out so it is important to be clean so I felt I had no choice considering it was 6pm at night and the new tenants would be in tomorrow. I felt the whole experience was an UP-SALE. After reading other Yelp reviews, others feel they have been upsold as well. I felt Shaggy's was saying anything they could to just to make another buck. After the job was completed, I was nowhere near as satisfied for the amount of money I was forced to spend or have tenants move into dirty carpets. read more

Shaggy's carpet cleaning came out to clean my 2 bedroom apartment to be move out ready. I have two dogs who left many pee stains. David arrived on time and set up his equipment very quickly. He cleaned the carpets very quickly and thoroughly. I chose to upgrade my cleaning to the pet stain removal option. They use a special enzyme to get the pee stains out. The carpets ended up being cleaner than when I moved in originally. Thanks to David at Shaggy's carpet cleaning, I got my entire deposit returned to me from my landlord. I wish I hired him before I moved in so I could have had the clean carpets from the beginning. read more

Really great service. I had an emergency situation with a rug that my foster dog used as a toilet and they managed to squeeze me in the next morning. Really nice guys, fast and very honest. The rug was unsalvageable and they were honest about not thinking it could be saved and didn't attempt to take my money knowing it couldn't be cleaned. They even tossed the rug for me!! I was quoted a reasonable price and then upon arrival that price quickly doubled with no other options presented...The old bait and switch was in full effect. They also took less than an hour cleaning 4 rooms, but spent plenty of time in my driveway cleaning the equipment/dirty water while using my hose spigot without asking. read more

Our carpets have been cleaned by others, and we know what they are capable of looking like when they are cleaned properly. Shaggy's left our place with a huge dirty area that they never came back to take care of. Also, be very careful about the "up sell" nature of this company. They had a coupon which included a multi-head cleaning machine and yet they tried to charge me extra to use that device. They wanted to add things right and left -- it was almost impossible to get the cleaning we were promised by the Groupon. They had trouble with their equipment while there were here, and walked out with the carpets not completely clean. I would not recommend this company at all. read more

Bought my first Groupon coupon for Shaggy's. On April 28 Matt came by the house, took one look at the heavily stained carpet, said it would be impossible to clean without the power scrubber at $25 more per room. Said it would make it look as good as new. I declined. He still "cleaned" the carpet. Afterward the carpet looked as dirty as before with no cleaning solution fragrance at all. I just ran my own Hoover carpet cleaner over a heavily-traveled area in same area and the fluid extracted was really dirty, almost black. Can't recommend Shaggy's. read more

I used Shaggy's carpet cleaning from a Groupon that I bought. When the guy came to clean my carpets (2 hours late) I had to pay him extra to clean and treat the pet stains that we had, which after everything was said and done I think I paid for a normal cleaning on my rather small house. He was done in about 30 minutes or less and not only did he NOT treat the stains but they are still there more visible and smelly than before. When I called David to talk about the carpet he was short and told me that the other gentlemen would call me to have him come out and look at them again. Needless to say I never received a phone call back. I have a eight month old that is crawling around everywhere so now I have to keep him out of certain rooms until I can afford to have the carpets cleaned again!!! What a waste of money. read more

I am beyond impressed with Shaggy's! I called on a Sunday afternoon and booked an appointment for Monday morning. Once I told them that I lived a good distance from the Main Street and they told me my carpet cleaning was going to cost extra because of that distance, which was a bummer, but that didn't stop them from coming the next morning to try to see if they could make it work. They ended up having to use their low moisture steamer and charged us a bit extra which we totally understood and were okay with. Now here's the incredible part. When we moved into that apartment two years ago and it reeked of cat urine and when we moved out the cat urine smell came right back. I was nervous that Shaggy's couldn't remove it and that the manager of the building would fail my walk through but sure enough when we walked in together the next day after the cleaning the smell was GONE! The manager even commented on how awesome the carpet smelled even though it's been in that unit for over 6 years. I am so enthralled with Shaggy's and will be recommending them to anyone that needs a good cleaning! read more

I would Definately recomment Davind to clean your carpet ONLY if you want it done right, if you care about your home and family's health, then call David and have him clean it the right way. As with life , there is a science behind the cleaning , ask David to explain it to you and then you will see this guy knows what he is doing and does a good job at it. Had my carpets cleaned on November 28 following Thanksgiving. I have older, cream colored carpet that is very thick (mixed frieze) and was quite expensive when installed. I read many reviews regarding Shaggy's and decided to give them a try. Dave was very courteous, He arrived on time and was professional. His first comment was that my carpet was very dirty and he would be unable to get it clean. Yes, my carpet was dirty-that's why I called a professional and I was willing to pay the extra $$$ for restoration. I commented that the pics on the company website were quite impressive- his answer? "well those pictures are of new carpet". I was surprised that only "new" carpet would be a candidate for restoration. I agreed to pay for restoration of the first floor carpet, with the understanding that the carpet would not look like brand new- I never expected it would look new. Dave recommended regular steam cleaning on the stairs and the upstairs hall and master bedroom . Dave worked for about 90 minutes and declared he was finished and that my carpet looked "1000 times better." I paid the $200 plus dollars but was disappointed that the carpet was soaking wet and actually smelled like old "dog". I noticed long black lines on the carpet where the hose was dragged across the carpet and a clear path up both sets of stairs. The carpet actually looked much worse than when he started. My husband commented that the house "stunk" and wondered "why" since we just paid for professional carpet cleaning. I cleaned the entire area again with my own steam cleaner, pre-treating the dark hose lines and using a carpet rake(took me about 5 hours). I should have cleaned it myself to begin with! I know others have had a great experience with Shaggy's- I wish mine could have been better. read more

We had them clean our ducts and they blew all the dirt into our house. They turned the fan on and didn't turn it off so the dirt they were cleaning out went into our house. Everything was filthy. My husband paid them not realizing that the whole house had this fine dust on it. David even asked for fans to blow because the house was blue with dirt. He said he would give us 35.00 to clean the house and send it to us. We never received it. Again I called and asked for my money back and he hung up on us. Never would I recommend him or that service. He said he had insurance, but that didn't seem to help me. He also charged us for travel expense which originally said he wouldn't charge for that. read more
