This review is for the first one, a bedroom ceiling/roof leak that needed mold mitigation, asbestos testing and renovation. March 2025: Leak originally started as a moisture spot on the ceiling in October 2024 but my HOA ignored it. By March 2025, the ceiling had become so compromised that water streamed in like a waterfall during a massive storm. My original contact was Noah - he gave me an estimate (along with two other companies). I really appreciated how Noah was communicative, informative and thorough. And! he didn't badger me w/ phone calls & emails, like the other two companies did. He understood that I said I would take care of the situation when I could b/c I was in the middle of Massage Therapy school. I understood the "risks" of having mold & just shut the bedroom off. Fast forward to August 2025 & now we're ready to take care of the situation. Noah followed protocol of getting an asbestos test first. Luckily, it was negative. Then Spencer, their Mitigation Specialist? built a special containment room, inside the guest bedroom that sealed off the contaminated area. Heavy duty fans stayed on for about 72 hours? so the area could be thoroughly dried after being treated w/ some kind of mold treatment. Noah was available via text when I had questions - that was surprising & super helpful! Once Mitigation was completed, Noah connected me w/ Jacob at their Restoration Department. He sent over a stellar crew led by David & they proceeded to rebuild about a quarter of the bedroom - meant to mention that they had to rip out dry wall, scaffolding, etc. This crew rebuilt and then refinished the area, including re-installing wainscotting and painting the ceiling + walls. The results? This bedroom looks gorgeous! We were thrilled with how thorough/smooth ATH was w/ this process & how the renovation turned out. The stress of having your home torn apart and put back together from The crazy amount of leaks (8 in my case) is a feeling of uncertainty and unpredictability... this caused me so many worries,  stresses,  and moments of tears. To be honest though,  i learned so much in this process,  and the first lesson was trust! The trust that there ARE people who have gifts that I don't!!! I needed to trust that the gifts of these people would heal my home! When I decided to lay down my feelings,  open up and let go and let things flow,  every stress and worry went away! It started with releasing those stresses when I spoke to STEVE from the Demo dept of Preferred Choice.  Him and his crew were literally like family!!! Super professional..... you know,  it could be easily uncomfortable with huge men around but NO.... these guys were super fabulous!!!! If i called,  they were there,  NO MATTER WHAT! When 3rd party companies made a mistake,  Preferred Choice MADE SURE TO FIX THEM RIGHT AWAY!!!!! The advocacy the RYAN had for me,  my home, and my family was beyond fabulous! His patience,  follow through,  and advocacy was brilliant! You know,  too prove that relationships matter to preferred choice.... even though the Demo guys were done with their job,  I still got calls from them checking up on us!!!!!! Thank you for that STEVE! There was one worker that stood out the most to me (outside of STEVE and RYAN of course)... They were all amazing,  I just wished I could remember them all (but i remember their faces!).... Buutttt..... A.J. was such a consistent,  hard worker that came early,  stayed late,  kind,  professional,  and asked questions to ensure satisfaction or choice! I LOVE THAT!!!!! HE WAS A TRUE ROCKSTAR n if i could hire him just as my handy man,  he'd be my GO TO!!!! I kept my mouth shut but it definitely raised some red flags. I listened to all three companies separately and then decided to do some serious research online. While some companies have plenty of glowing Google reviews, once you start looking at other sources like Yelp, the Arizona ROC, and the BBB, the picture can look very different. Consider this a friendly warning to homeowners: do your homework. After digging deeper, I was fortunate to find ASAP Restoration. One thing that immediately stood out is that they do not work referral deals with plumbers, do not pay kickbacks, and do not play games with deductibles. They simply focus on doing the job correctly. The team was extremely professional. The mitigation/demo crew handled the water damage quickly and thoroughly, and the reconstruction team has been excellent. We're now about 90% finished with the rebuild and everything is coming together great. I just felt the need to share my experience before heading out for spring break. We were referred to Randy S through another company…read more We had an issue with our air conditioning unit & circuit breakers being exposed to a water leak from an upstairs unit (we are on the second floor). We wanted to make sure since it was a slow leak that there was no mold growing behind or inside the unit. Called this company and they were able to set an appointment for us the following day. I had explained we had a prior test done through our building's subcontractors, but we wanted a second opinion and to ensure every measure was taken before we were going to get the work done with our buildings team. Johnathan P arrived early the following morning and was extremely thorough in his work. We received a full report the following day that broke everything down as far as the visual inspection what it revealed and the readily visible water and suspected mold impact on the building materials and with in the HVAC closet. The environmental assessment was similar to the contractors our leasing office used but the surface sample mold spores taken the previous company failed to test for. Randy was supportive with our concerns was available through text messages if we had a questions and along with the report he provided us very descriptive information with what we were actually dealing with. This company was wonderful to work with and higley recommend We were in an unfortunate situation due to our living conditions that we were unable to choose this company for repairs and had to go with a quick fix from our rental property. Eventually after battling back and for with the leasing office they FINALLY had a subcontractor come out and clean all the coils to the unit as it in fact had questionable and concerning mold growth. We would not have known this if we hadn't had Adaptive Environmental Consulting Group come out and do the professional analysis that should have been done to begin with. Also, the leasing office wanted a copy of this report and we were unwilling to do so because they were not willing to reimburse us the cost of this 2nd opinion. It was a terrible situation and eventually got resolved, but apartment living you are stuck with whom they chose to take the cheapest route possible.

They did not communicate with me about the cost. I am glad that my insurance covered it (Progressive), but the lack of communication has caused so much frustration. These charges are insane.
