Everything was amazing and filled with so much flavor. They ended up treating us to the chai and hummus bc of our wait, which kudos to the service, and the hummus was amazing! My partner and I came in for lunch today. We were driving on the highway and intended to go somewhere else, but couldn't find it. Thought we'd give this a try. So glad we did. My partner had the chicken kabob. Moist chicken with salad, rice and naan. Nice portion. The chicken was excellent as was the rice. I had the vegetarian platter. It's potato, eggplant, pumpkin, rice, spinach and chickpeas. Absolutely delicious. Not a weak spot in the dish. Everything tasted unique and the eggplant was well prepared (not mushy and not hard). The naan was very good too. The place is nice and comfortable. You order at the counter, pay and are told a table number. Our food came very quickly to the table after we sat down. Visited here for a late lunch and experience was great! You viewed the menu, placed order, seat yourself, and meal will be served to you. I placed my order; tandoori shrimp which came with rice and side salad. Also, ordered from the appetizer section, samosas. Food was served in about 10 to 15 minutes. Presentation was amazing and tasted fresh and delicious. Shrimp were large and seasoned. Rice was ok if eaten by itself but compliments the shrimp and salad well. The samosas were filled with potatoes and peas. Very tasty! My coworker shared chicken masala; oh I'm coming back and getting this as it was fired! From the smell in the air, I was lead to check out this Afghan eatery that I spotted a couple times in this shopping center. It was definitely a vibe appearance when I walked in. The decor and vibrant moving music coupled with ethnic women associated to the style of food and a diverse group of others ordering and dining in confirmed this was were I was going to have lunch at. It was clean and very nice. Looking at the prices I was a little caught off guard but where am I going to find a meal from now days under $20? The attentive and patient staff took my order and helped to make my decision of getting the curry lamb special over the lamb kabobs. I ordered to to. I sat for about 10 minutes or less and my order was up. I decided to sit and eat and absorb the upbeat vibe. My food was hot and great presentation even in the to go container. The lamb was very tender and the curry was a bit on the spice side and creamy but not too much for me. I absolutely enjoyed my entire meal. The portion given was a lot so I have left overs. For those ordering to dine in, the plates are even bigger and its semi full service. The food is brought out to you and the tables are cleared. You would have to get your own utensils and beverage. But the little side salad, like geeens and jalapeños was very pecky:( Rice is very otantıc, its typical Afgan, Kazak, Iran style. They make pretty sweet, carrot, raise and cinnpman. İt like it. I've tried Maiwand a few times so I was curious to see how its sister restaurant was. I ended up ordering a beef kabob, chicken kabob, pumpkin appetizer, and mantu. Off the bat I knew the bread was going to be amazing just by how hot and airy it was. The beef kabob was so flavorful and tender. The chicken wasn't quite as good in my opinion but it was cooked absolutely perfectly. I wish it had a little spice or punch to the flavor. The sauce that came with both dishes was also very good. The star of the meal was the mantu. It's hard to describe to someone who hasn't had it but it's a dumpling with a bunch of seasoning and sauce on top. I wasn't a huge fan of the consistency of the pumpkin, I wish it was more a mashed potato fluffiness. Overall, I'd say this place is my new go-to for beef kabobs. read more

I understand why this place is usually packed when I walk by. The food is fantastico!! My family placed a large pick up order for my brother's birthday. The restaurant is casual with a decent amount of seating, but a lot of people were getting to go orders. I'll only review what I got. The fried cauliflower is a must have! I love cauliflower and roast it regularly, so I'm strict when it comes to restaurant cauliflower. I wish we had ordered two of these! The cauliflower was the perfect texture and the chipotle sauce had the perfect amount of heat. For my meal, I got the veggies platter and it is an ABUNDANCE of food for only $14!! The pumpkin and chickpeas were chef's kiss! But the spinach?? I'm not a big fan of spinach, so I don't know what they did to make it taste so good! Sautéd with onion and garlic to perfection! They messed one thing up with our order. We ordered the mezze sampler, but they gave us a falafel platter instead. The hummus was good, so we didn't complain or call back. Great place, amazing food, AND they hand-make their pita. Yep, I am obsessed with this place. My friends and I wanted to have dinner to catch up and they found this place on google maps and i am so happy they did. Their service was great--super cool and kind. We ordered our food at the counter, and they brought it to our table. Everything we ate was excellent. I personally ordered the chapli kabob, aushak, and mango lassi (they were out of the mango mule, which I really wanted to try). Everything was delicious that I was dancing in my seat. My husband and I love this place. The food is fast and delicious and there is a large selection. My personal fave is the falafel platter but my husband has tried numerous types of kabobs and has loved every single one. The Kabuli rice is just the best--so much nicer than the plain white rice you get at other kabob places. I was in the mood for for kabobs and decided to give Ziza a try! When I first walked in I was blown away how beautiful the restaurant was. Great decorations and a vibrant dining room. They had a large party and everyone seemed to be really happy. It gave me a chance to scoop out what the food looked like and I was really excited to try it. Upon ordering service went fine, but it was a little difficult with all of their takeout orders going on at the same time, people seem to very territorial in line. I also had to keep adding items as the cashier wanted to quickly cash me out. I ordered the tandoori chicken platter and was able to substitute chickpeas and fries for the salad and rice which was a great surprise. I also ordered the kofta kabob with chickpeas and rice. Lastly, I decided to grab the aushak dish - which is one of my favorites! I decided to get a fountain drink and the iced tea was absolutely delicious. I liked that they provided lemons and had pretty silverware to use. They gave you a number and you sit and wait for your food to be served. Our food came out with lengthy intervals one at a time with the appetizer coming out last. The chicken was my absolute favorite. It was really moist and delicious. However I'm surprised it was all drumsticks. The kofta was herbaceous and very tasty. I really enjoyed the chickpeas however, one side dish was cold and the other was hot and had raw onions on top which I really liked. The aushak was okay but a too little sour and watery for my liking. I was blown away by the food and will be back to try more. Everything from here is very flavorful and delicious. They have a wide variety of proteins including vegetarian entrees. They also have a selection of speciality and soft drinks as well as baklava. The service is done at the register upfront where you can place your order. You can place your order to go or you can sit and they serve the food to you. The inside has Afghani touches including a cute, very instagramable, seat as well as some sayings and murals. Lovely interior with delicious Afghan food! The wait was 30 min, but the food thankfully was tasty. I tried their Aushak appetizer and the Chicken Kabob Platter. The chicken was a little salty, but well seasoned. The rice had good flavor and spice to it as well. This was my first Aushak to try so I can't compare, but I liked tasting jalapeños for a kick (it wasn't spicy for me) and it was a decent, good dish to try! I tried a bite of someone's Chicken Shawarma sandwich- that tasted really good especially with that white sauce. I usually order from Maiwand, but I had to try this place and compare! Ziza is honestly at the same level- I just am biased a little towards Maiwand as I've been going to them for years and their green chutney, salad, and naan is better (plus, one extra piece of chicken compared to Ziza) I didn't really like the green chutney at Ziza and I wish a nice dressing or flavor was provided in the salad. We found this restaurant after a random search of restaurants in the area. There is shared parking in front of the business. We came on a Friday evening and the tables and booths in the restaurant were packed. There were a lot of families with kids dining inside. The restaurant serves halal food. We placed our orders at the front counter and then our food was brought out to us. I got a chicken platter plate. The chicken was juicy and tender. The bread was ok. It was a little overcooked. The only thing I'm upset about is not living close enough to come here once a week. The food is immaculate. Dining in is an option but it gets packed, so takeout might be better. The lamb and beef combo is superb, and I could write a love story about this rice. The bite, the scent, the taste...out of this world. Get an order of sabzi, thank me later :D I'm obsessed with the Iranian version and this is just as good. The fries were also perfect. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and seasoned nicely. An unexpected side but it fits. Now, let's talk dessert. WHY IS THE ICE CREAM SO GOOD? I'm not a dessert girl, and by dessert girl I mean someone who makes it a point to get one and finish it. I absolutely love ZiZa! It's by far one of my favorite spots to eat. The food is consistent and the prices are reasonable. The service can be hit or miss only because it gets really busy. We typically call our order in to avoid waiting. Weekends is when they seem to the busiest. My favorite dishes are the chicken kabob salad and the chicken tikka masala. Everything I've tried has been good, but these two are my favorite. Be sure to get your sauces. They have a variety of sauces that are great with their dishes. The customer service and digital menu make it easy to confidently order exactly what your appetite is calling for. The wait was a bit long, but not a dealbreaker. The food was good overall, I especially loved the salad. The shawarma had great flavor, though a touch less salt would've easily brought it to an 8.5/10 for me. Absolute bomb Afghan food! The restaurant is located in a strip mall right by Dollar tree. It does not seem much from outside but it is a nicely decorated place from inside with afghan paintings and an afghani novelty items cart. The food is delicious, their hummus, baba ghanoush, and tandoori naans steal the show. Their fried eggplant is also yum. I also recommend kabuki rice. Ample of veg, non veg and pescatarian options. The service is fast, accurate and staff is friendly. Greta for large groups, family gatherings air take out. They also have brunch on weekends. read more

Delivery: Love to eat here whenever I can! I hope this place stays forever! A combo is enough for 2 meals (at least for me), and they don't skimp even when they do delivery (usually I order through Toast which is usually fast too just like ordering in person). The combo is filled and worth it for the cost! Food and Cost: I always get the combo that can come with salad, or sub for more naan or my favorite of chickpea or potato&pea curry. Even without salad (which is nice and refreshing), there is still pickled onions and cabbage, which helps compliment with the hearty curry, kabob, naan (I like to upgrade to garlic, it is not just garlic powder sprinkled on last minute), and rice (Afghan rice yum!, not plain). I am biased toward kofta, beef, and lamb, so I can't say much about the other meat/seafood/etc options. But my family said they are tasty too! Service and Timing: I love eating in person and find a comfortable seat on my own; the place is large enough to fit several families and is bustling during Ramadan. Even when it was Ramadan, an employee or owner noticed that I was standing there for quite a while compared to the other customers and got on top of it immediately! That was only one time, all the other times, food came out quite quickly without issues even when it was packed/crowded. When I can't eat in person, I still love to grab takeout or delivery, and I can still get extra sauce that I enjoy mopping up with garlic naan. Especially since it is located near my highway exit so I can quickly stop by without going out of my way. read more

Love the food here! The tandoori chicken platter is my favorite and such a great value. You get multiple, juicy pieces of chicken, lots of rice (they have raisins in it which is not my favorite but it really does enhance the rice so I'm not mad at it) and salad. My family and I were in communication with the owner of Ziza Kabob beginning in late October regarding catering for a family graduation event in mid-December (40-50 guests, including children and elders). Throughout the process, communication was consistently unprofessional and dismissive. Despite clearly outlining our satisfactory order in writing, the owner repeatedly insisted we would "run out of food" and stated that he would not be able to help us on the day of the event if that occurred, without asking about our guest demographics or considering our reassurances. We followed the owner's instructions to confirm the order and submit payment closer to the event date. However, just days before the event, my mother contacted the store once in an attempt to clarify details after weeks of difficult communication with the owner and spoke with the store manager, who was courteous and helpful. Despite later claims that my mother repeatedly contacted the store, this was her only call. Later that same night, at 10 PM, the owner sent a message instructing her not to call the store and abruptly refused to take our order altogether. This decision was made without prior warning and left us scrambling to secure catering for a significant family event on very short notice. Most concerning was receiving a text message threatening legal action if a "fake review" was posted. Additionally, when a review was later written by another family member, the owner incorrectly assumed it was written by my mother and publicly named and attempted to identify her, including referencing her business. This behavior felt inappropriate and deeply unprofessional. Additionally, the owner falsely stated that we requested food sufficient for only 8-10 people, despite a written, itemized order clearly documenting quantities appropriate for 40-50 guests. We ultimately worked with another local restaurant, Maiwand Kabob in Columbia, which provided the exact order requested to Ziza Kabob. The food was more than sufficient and was delivered with excellent service at a lower cost, reinforcing that our original request was reasonable. I am sharing this experience factually so others can make an informed decision. Unfortunately, the communication and conduct we experienced fell far short of acceptable. read more

We did not know what to expect because it sits in a strip mall like group of buildings but to our surprise it was very very nice!!! We decide to sit in and that was a great decision...the staff was super nice and it's very spacious with a nice decor. We ordered the chicken and lamb kabob combo, which looked absolutely amazing...I must say it was pretty good( needs a touch more seasoning) the lamb was cooked almost perfectly....the chicken was perfect along with the rice and bread! The Friday lamb curry was pretty good too, not as spicy as other curry we tried before. The rice complimented the curry well...the granddaughter decided she wanted it all but was told we sharing ! While I've passed by this spot many times, I had no idea it was there until a coworker brought me for lunch. This is a large space, very clean. We placed our orders, and I wanted the lamb kabob platter. I was excited to chow down on the food when it arrived. The pros: -The lamb was absolutely delicious -The naan was absolutely delicious The cons: -The rice is HEAVILY seasoned with cinnamon (and has raisins) and I dislike cinnamon. Be aware of this and order plain if necessary. -The salad had no dressing on it whatsoever so while I ate it, I didn't enjoy it.
