After ditching most of our fresh food in Canada before coming back in the United States, we needed to restock while we were staying in Tupper Lake area. The store looks beautiful on the outside, the inside could use a little TLC. It was fairly well stocked for the size and I guess the prices were reasonable for the area. We ended up walking out with $85 worth of stuff to refill our refrigerator and pantry. Must say that the checkout girl seemed a little less than enthusiastically, friendly, or even friendly. The customer service was outstanding. We couldn't find the potato chip aisle and the woman at the register told us where it was. We told her we were in search of Wise brand potato chips and she said they indeed carried them. When we returned empty handed she asked if we had trouble finding what we wanted. We did and said nevermind but she stated that the deliver man had been there that day and insisted on walking back to the aisle with us. Sure enough what we were looking for was actually there. Then when we left a really nice young kid carried our groceries to the car with a smile and a great attitude, like there was nothing he would warther be doing but I'm sure there was! In all candor, this was the most disgusting grocery store that I've ever been in, in my entire life. The smell of expired meat was the first thing to hit my nose, and it stayed with me through the entire store. I looked at the meat section and frankly it did not look cold enough. I did not buy any meat from the store. The store appeared Dirty, disorganized, and was staffed by rude teenagers. I would never go back here again. read more

I go here often for work to acquire meat and deli items. And every single time without fail I am met with attitude and rudness From multiple deli staff. I've worked in a deli before and I'm telling ya right now. It's not that hard. They need a serious attitude adjustment when dealing with clientele. Bad enough the place is brutal on the wallet. A real surprise for a little market in Tupper Lake. The best sub sandwiches in the area, enough meat and cheese to make 2 sandwiches for most people. Everything is fresh and great tasting. A pretty amazing beer section too. They also carry Pork Roll for us NJ transplants to the North Country. :-) read more

We love Shaheen's we always stop in on our way to the southern Adirondacks. Their sandwiches are some of the best in town. They have everything a home town grocery store should have and the craft beef selection is endless. If your traveling through Tupper Lake stop in and check them out. read more

Awesome local supermarket! Came here for th first time - everyone is so friendly. They had decent pricing on their stuff compared to where I am from forget about it. No lines either and was out of there fairly quickly! Also, there was some nice talent at the registers if you know what I mean!! Overall a good experience. Will come again if needed. read more

I've been coming here every time I come by tupper and I'm not happy with the way I was treated by the deli staff and when I went back there not one of them was wearing there masks the proper way. This really irritates me and makes me not want to come here anymore read more

Shaheen's is terrific. It's a family-run IGA store that has a remarkable selection given the isolated area it serves. They will order anything you request if it's available to them. Their homemade Italian sausage is the best! The prices will run a bit higher than you might pay in larger places, but the quality is very good. The customer service is excellent. read more

This is a market that has just about everything you could use. Fresh vegetables, a deli and a staff that has been around a long time. The cole slaw from the deli is FABULOUS! I had cole slaw in a lot of places and this is great! For a small town market lots of items and I did not think the prices were priced too high either. read more

This is a great place to provision for Adirondack camping. The selection is good, and the store location is convenient. Their store made Italian sausage was a pleasant discovery. Last year we made the mistake of stopping at the Save-A-Lot before discovering Shaheen's. This year we knew better, so we're enjoying decent coffee and Kashi oatmeal in the morning. Finally, they have both block and cubed ice available. It's one stop shopping. read more

We summer in Tupper lake and this store has some of the best and freshest meats, great assortment of groceries and beer and according to my brother in law from Brazil, some of the best house made sausage in the world.
