Clean nice location. Took someone a while to come out from the back. Order at counter and customize with toppings (hummus, chickpeas, tomato cucumber salad, black beans, sauces). Food held up well to take out other than the hummus sticking to the lid. The green chutney is cilantro based (just a note for a home that dislikes cilantro). The hot sauce is very hot. Generic bbq. White sauce is good. Available for purchase. Overall, it wasn't my flavor profile, like what appeared to be brown basmati rice or the flavor of the chicken. There was nothing wrong though.

TLDR - large portions, fluffy falafels, fast service I discovered this place on my way home from the gym and had to stop by because I love trying new halal platters. They have your standard fast food halal platter options: chicken, falafel, lamb kebab, fish over rice. I also love that you can add salad options for free, so I got hummus! This place can be compared to Halal guys in terms of menu items. I like Shah's Halal Food more because their falafels were fresh and had a fluffy texture. They also piled on the rice and lettuce. You can also pick up a bottle of their white sauce or red sauce on your way out!

Great food and worth the price. Asked for a little less salad but i'm not sure they got the memo. Can't blame them for that though, it was still really good. Got my food really quickly there wasn't a long wait.

Clean and bright interior. Fast food style halal food. Healthy alternative to other fast food options. We had the chicken Kofta, which came with rice and a selection of topics like black beans, tomato, cucumber, onions along with an array of sauces. Food was tasty and paired nicely with all the sauces.

I got the chicken rice bowl and it was the best I've had. The food was really good and the service was even better.

As a person who loves Cava and Mezeh, I thought Hummus Republic was going to be another iteration…read moreof those. Instead, I was left with much to be desired. When I arrived on a late Wednesday afternoon, the place was empty. The guy working behind the counter was sitting there eating food behind the counter as I walked in the door. This occurred in close proximity to where the food is that they serve. That should've been my sign to leave, but I wanted to give this place a chance. I ordered a bowl with a base of rice and spinach. I got two different types of hummus and another dip which I assume is their version of the crazy feta they have at Cava. I asked what the most popular protein choice was and I was told the chicken schwarma so I got that. I got a bunch of different vegetables and topped it off with tzatziki sauce. I paid around $15 for my food. When I got home and ate my food, I was highly disappointed. Everything lacked flavor to me, even the meat, dips, and sauce. The corn looked like it came from a can. The chicken also had a weird appearance to it. I know it was bad because I was literally STARVING from barely eating anything all day and I had to throw it away after a few bites. Usually when I'm super hungry, things that taste merely okay are edible enough for me to finish. That was not the case here. Disappointed, I still had to go out and get something else to eat. This was my first time here, but I don't see myself returning. The service wasn't the greatest either. The staff who was working there didn't seem interested in trying to help me with any suggestions as I stood there taking forever to decide what I wanted. I guess he just wanted me out the door so he could get back to his food. Another thing I'd like to note is that most times when you visit these assembly-line type of fast casual spots, there's usually multiple people behind the counter and you can see things being prepared right in front of you. That was not the case here. I don't even know if there was anyone in the back preparing food or replenishing items throughout the day.

Sandwich which is the star of my meal was smaller than the palm of my hand, ordered it with baba, there was less than a teaspoon at best, lamb was dry, no vegetables hardly at all. Sandwich was falling apart by the second bite because the pita was thinner than a fingernails thickness. Soup was great as always, the pistachio baklava was superb. The he prices aren't bad but if you factor in that they're not training their cooks to assemble their signature sandwiches and platters to the standard of Mamoun's, it's a waste of money and time ordering here. When I first got the order delivered I called, no manager, said call back, next day, couldn't reach the manager, third day later, no manager and a young woman in her teens clearly not interested in my comments and getting exasperated with me on the phone, she composed herself, but honestly, my comments are spot on. I told her to tell the manager to look at the reviews on Yelp and Google, wasn't looking for a free meal to make up for the really amateur sandwich only a college student in their dorm would be proud of assembling, I simply like the fact that Mamoun's is near my house and management it clearly failing. I left my name and number, have ZERO FAITH I will be contacted back, they don't seem to care. Update: 7 days later, no manager called. These guys just do not care, way to treat a good and EX customer. #fail

This is an update to a prior review. This has been one of our favorite restaurants in the area but…read moreour last visit fell short. We ordered the family platter and a hummus to go. We were told it would take 30-35 minutes, which is fine for cooked to order food. It really wasn't very busy, but the order took 50 minutes. The order was sitting on their counter ready to go, but it appeared they were backed up with making the bread. Once the bread came out, they bagged it up and we were ready to go. They almost forgot to give us the side salad, but they remembered before we left. Now for the food... - The bread that we waited for- was doughy and undercooked. It had burnt pieces stuck to it and they were not shaped as nicely as their usual bread. - The hummus side that we ordered, which was almost $8, was a half filled half pint container (very small amount) of what appeared more like a sauce rather than the thick hummus we are accustomed t. I wouldn't order this again. - The salad was watery...they need to drain the water better - The rice was cold - I think it was sitting out too long - Now for the main event - the meats - we enjoyed the flavor. This saved our dinner, we did enjoy the meats. We called them about the bread and they were apologetic, and told us we can stop by for bread next time we are there. As this is one of my favorite restaurants, I want to give them an opportunity to do better next time! The afghan bread and their rice have alway been my favorite part of their meals! I think it was an off night for them, I'd definitely give them a chance again in the future.

Everything from the Chicken Chapli Kabob, Chicken Gyro Platter, Chicken Tikka Masala, Beef Kabob to the fresh made naan is delicious. The hummus is a must try. The prices are still extremely reasonable and the portion sizes are large. The service and staff is also very personable, friendly and full of suggestions. The interior has a casual front side with tables and the back has some booths with some ethnic decor. There are not many Afghan restaurants in the area, but hands down this is one of the best ones I've been too. I definitely plan on continuing to eat here.
