No joke this is the best halal chicken over rice I've ever had. Been here multiple times after a long nba game and it always hits. Open late and food is GREAT. This location did not hit like the other Shah's location unfortunately. I got a chicken and rice bowl. I added black beans and chickpeas... both were very hard. I've never had beans or chickpeas and they were hard? Very off putting and ruined my meal to be honest. Chicken was okay. White sauce really saved the day. Honestly with so many chicken and rice competing for that number one spot you really have to make sure all your locations are on point or else you risk losing a customer. Went back recently to try the viral Golden Shawarma in person. It was good, but honestly didn't fully live up to the hype it gets on social media. I had asked for extra pickles on the side and sadly didn't get any, but overall it was still worth trying! I can definitely see this being a solid late night food spot. During the daytime though, there are probably better options around considering how many good places there are nearby. read more

I've been to Shah's Halal Food but I think the food is just off here or something. This used to be where Dunkin Donuts used to be before it turned into Shah's and Legend's Chicken and Waffles. Parking space is small and limited but most people get their food to go as they make the food here pretty quick. Like all Shah's they are known for wraps, bowls with rice and veggies. It's a quick and affordable meal to get for a solid price and it fills you up. I got the combo platter which was just chicken & lamb, rice, and cucumbers and lettuce over white sauce. They have everything ready chipotle style and it's pretty much ready to make in minutes over the counter. The place is small but it's clean. Since not much people are dining in I feel that tables are less used but it could also be different at night where it's open until super late. It's still good to get for a quick bite but it's just not like other locations I've been to. read more

This is actually two restaurants in one, Shah's Halal Food and Legend's Chicken and Waffles. So they have wraps, fried chicken, chicken sandwiches, salads and gyros. They have a decent sized parking lot and a modest dining area. The staff there were friendly. I ordered a 3-piece meal with a side of potato wedges. The food was already premade so I had it right away. That was not a good thing though. The food was very bad. The wedges were old and hard. I could not even eat them. The biscuit that came with the meal was equally hard and I could not even take a bite out of it. The chicken was ok. It looked better than it tasted and i had to force myself to finish it. This meal was a struggle and I really wanted to like this place. I do not think I will come here again and cannot in good faith recommend this joint. read more

"It's like chipotle for halal food." That's what the guy behind the counter said. He was right. Fast. Good. And tons of veggies on the gyro. The inside is clean. No frills. It was November and a bit cool inside but the staff was busy wiping tables down and keeping everything neat and tidy. When we ordered and said we'd be eating in, the counter guy said he'd grab us for the gyro so we could eat at the same time as the Philly and fries would take a few minutes. They do a pretty brisk business. A lot of folks coming and going while we were eating in. And all of the food looked really good. Went passing through the area, this place is now on my list to stop. As I definitely want to try their chicken, especially their Nashville chicken. Don't look at this place and say no way. Definitely worth a stop read more

I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. The food was disappointing -- poorly prepared, lacking flavor, and definitely not worth the price. On top of that, the overall cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Tables weren't wiped down properly, and the restroom was in rough shape, which made the whole dining experience uncomfortable. Adding to the strange atmosphere, there was a man standing out front selling coconuts. It felt completely out of place and made the entrance feel more chaotic than welcoming. Honestly, it set the wrong tone before we even walked inside. Guy doesnt have a business liecnse, has been kicked out of countless spots in the county and told he can't sell the coconuts but next day he's somewhere else. Knowing that Shahs is allowing him there knowing that he doesnt have a business license and pays no taxes, says quite a bit about this business. SHADY. Overall, between the poor food, unclean environment, and the odd situation outside, I don't plan on returning. read more

Open late and really nice service. The place had a few tables and was a bit dirty inside and the lights were quite bright so it was a quick stop for us. The chicken waffles were pretty standard but it hit the spot for late night bites. The chicken was really big so I would order less than you think. The sauces were all good. read more

My first time visiting was last Thursday as I was in the area on a business trip. Clean inside the establishment, along with a professional, courteous staff. The food, great. I had a 6 piece chicken and fries and a fruit punch drink. Let me tell you, I've been in some businesses where the fountain drinks were like liquid diabetes but, Shah's fruit punch was very good without being overly sweet, with and without ice, very good. The chicken was nicely spicy but very good. I went back on Sunday night for lamb and chicken platter, and it was the same great food and experience. I've visited here 2x to try something different. The first visit, on a Monday, I had the chicken and lamb gyro combo with all the toppings and the ranch dressing(?). The meat is cubed. I'm used to shaved gyro, however, cubed is good. The lamb is mixed in beef but its not disclosed what the ratio of lamb to beef is in their offering. The gyro concoction could be seasoned better as I've had better or maybe its the cube sizing. The overall impression is that its a okay offering more along the lines of a Chipotle light. If the gyro had better seasonings, it would have been rated higher. The $11 price point is in line with Chipotle. Sunday I was in the area and visited the restaurant. I decided on the fried chicken as they have a big posting of their fried chicken and waffles. I'm not a chicken/waffles fan but did get the fried chicken with seasoned fried potatoes. The fact that there was not much product should have been a sign that the food was on the dry side. The fried chicken is nothing to rave about although it is crisp but is no threat to Popeyes, KFC or Royal Farms. The meat could use more seasoning along with the coating to get it to stand out. Mashed potatoes would be a better bet then fried potatoes as they don't dry out as fast. In fact, why not offer some of the seasoned rice as a side option! Eating in they give you a baking sheet as a tray. :) Service is attentive. I'm sure the Sunday visit, the young man taking my order could have sensed this was my first time as I wasn't sure what to order as I was asking many questions. They need to have fountain sodas. Canned sodas and no ice??? Bleh. At least have more premium bottled/canned sodas. Craft items maybe. I see this location is like a franchise as the original one is in New York? Maybe the one in NY is better, I don't know. Next time, I may try the chicken sandwich. read more

Ehh - I wouldn't go back. I got the chicken sandwich meal, my boyfriend got a cheesesteak and a chicken gyro to try. Overall the food tasted plain and needed more flavor. The service was slow. I only saw one worker in the front and the food took about 15 minutes. read more
