We usually go to the one in town. It was our first time at this location in Kaneohe. We were eating at KJ's Local Grinds and this was right across the parking lot. We decided to get a drink. The store was clean, bright and colorful. They had a few tables for you to occupy. They also sell all different kinds of Asian snacks. We only got a drink. We got the large pineapple mango smoothie $8.69. It was nice and refreshing. They use fresh fruit, so it wasn't overly sweet. You can also let them know if you want your drink sweeter. Last Christmas, I purchased a gift certificate to Shaka Shaka in Kaneohe for a friend who frequents Shaka Shaka. Unfortunately, the employee who sold it did not point out that the certificate expires after one year. My friend only realized this a few days after the expiration date and went in to ask if it could still be honored. He was told no, with no grace period or flexibility offered. This was very disappointing. From a customer's perspective, it feels like the business benefited from money that was never truly redeemed, despite the good-faith intent to use it. A short grace period or clearer communication at the time of purchase would have gone a long way. Warning to customers: Gift certificates are only valid for one year, so be sure to use them before they expire. If you're gifting someone who may forget, it may be best not to give a gift certificate from Shaka Shaka. Due to this experience, our family and friends will no longer be patronizing Shaka Shaka in Kaneohe. With so many boba/bubble tea / smoothie places on the island, great customer service is especially important. read more

Love this little gem. They didn't use the powder in the drinks and love the natural. The sweet level really have to adjust it. If you love sweet then just get regular if don't want too sweet you must tell while you ordering. Around the store have some snacks and I found the noodle which is my family favorites. What really makes this place stand out though, is their large selection of fresh fruit smoothies-way better than Jamba and you can add toppings and control the sweetness too. Parking is easy to find. The lady who was working was very welcoming and kind. There were no customers. I ordered the Strawberry milk tea (4/5): quite sweet even though I got 50% sweetness. The boba pearls were chewy and smooth. Google/apple pay is accepted here. One thing I do have to say was the price is a bit high and that a $5 minimum purchase is required to use card. The owner Maggie is the nicest lady and so warm and generous. I live in Kaneohe now so mostly frequent this location. Service is always fast and my favorites are the green milk tea, oolong or black tea cappuccino and the lychee jelly is excellent. Free boba with your drink is such a deal and the boba is delicious and has a great texture. The shop is very cute with lots of snacks for purchase, sometimes even fruit for purchase and baked goods. I decided to get an oolong iced tea with boba with 25% sugars. This drink was good and spot on. I was surprised at how small the boba is compared to the normal size I typically get. The boba was soft and tasted like it was drizzled with honey. The boba was sweet and soft. I definitely enjoyed my drink and would come back to try the snacks and other drinks they offer here. This is her fourth location after the Dillingham, University, and Salt Lake stores. That's how you can tell that this product is Good... because it's popular, high quality, and delicious! Also, Maggie is so friendly and helpful... I want to visit her cheerfulness every day! Located at Windward City Shopping Center, Shaka Shaka Tea Express is across the parking lot from Foodland and Ross. It's on the American Savings Bank side, in a stand alone building. (It used to be Bubble Berry Cafe.) With a fresh coat of paint, a new floor, colorful chairs, and beautiful lighting, this new business will draw in many customers! The smoothies are made with 100 percent fresh fruit. I had the coconut taro smoothie which had tiny bits of taro in it...yum! I also had a Green Milk Tea - half sweet, a tea egg (perfect amount of slightly savory), and a warmed up poi donut (onolicious)! What a fantastic lunch! It has its own little building. What I noticed on the sign on the outside, it says, No Powder!! Naturally I was intrigue. Wifey got a Mango Smoothie. I grabbed lunch from a nearby shop and decided to stop by Shaka Shaka tea express for a drink. I was in the mood for something basic so I just got an iced black tea 50% sweetness and boba. The staff was friendly, quick, and good about sanitizing between customers. My drink was done very quickly and it tasted great. The only thing for me was that the boba here are a little smaller than what I'm used to. They aren't quite mini boba but not the same as "standard" boba. Not an issue, but worth noting lol. Overall, it's definitely worth checking out if you're in the area and need a boba fix. They have an expansive fresh fruit smoothie/ juice list that makes for a great refreshing treat! Ahh, a boba spot I can pop into while waiting hours for our food from KJ's LOL! I ordered a medium strawberry milk tea and it tasted like a strawberry smoothie.. I didn't taste any milk whatsoever. Cashier confirmed what type of milk I wanted too. I'm not strict on dairy, so I stuck with what they usually serve it with. I don't like almond milk that's for sure. But my gosh the price for a medium is a little over the top. I practically inhaled that tiny cup in one gulp. Fresh fruits you say?.... The drink was delicious and the boba was just as yummy. I sincerely hope Shaka Shaka Tea will be successful and be a permanent fixture at Windward City Shopping Center. This review is overdue because I visited Shaka Shaka Tea about three weeks ago. I went on a Saturday afternoon and was the third customer in line. While I was waiting to order I couldn't help but admire how CLEAN this place was and how the display area of snacks was neatly in order. The windows allowed the sun to shine through the place and cast a nice, warm glow to the color scheme. I ordered a large pineapple banana smoothie for my sister-in-law and I ordered a medium pineapple mango smoothie. The gal who took my order was friendly and personable. There was a guy in the back who was preparing the drinks. I had my order in less than 10 minutes. Fresh fruit is where it's at! Our smoothies was DELICIOUS and refreshing! While the smoothies are a bit on the pricey side, I think knowing you're getting fresh fruit with no powder or other additives make it worth trying out. I also had to remind myself that the rent at Windward City is not cheap. So to see a local business step up to the challenge in their desire to bring healthy goodness with great customer service to the community is to be cheehoo'd about and supported. A basic milk tea with boba is pretty decently priced. Some of the flavors add quite a bit onto the price though. For example, the watermelon tea with boba was good, but a bit expensive. Boba was not bad, but was a little tough and could've been softer. My friend got an ube macaron, and it was good, but tasted a little old. I got a pack of mini mango mochi, which I'm excited to try. I am so glad that Maggie opened in Kaneohe. We NEEDED a good tea/smoothie spot on this side! I met Maggie several years ago when she opened her first location in Dillingham. I was making a quick stop at the bank on my break and I noticed this bright, vibrant colored, very clean, and brand new tea place. I went in to check it out and Maggie was so warm and welcoming!!! She introduced herself and explained her drinks and how she doesn't use any powders to sweeten her drinks. The first drink she made for me back then was a honey lemon tea with pineapple chunks. Very refreshing and not too sweet. She gave me my first drink free and told me to bring some friends to come and try her smoothies or teas. I returned in the next couple days with my co-worker friend Wade. I told him he had to try it because he was a regular customer at Thang's and I thought this place was better. Maggie greeted us with her big smile. We ordered milk tea with boba and she also made us some dumplings and cold noodles to take back to work. Delicious!!! We were going get drinks from Maggie 3-4 times a week if we had a break at work. It was very addicting. I had to start limiting myself. Over the years Maggie has never changed her customer service. She is still as sweet as ever. She's made special soursop smoothies for me to take to my friend that was fighting breast cancer. She made me special lemon hot teas when I was feeling sick and had a sore throat. Just truly a nice person that makes things with love. From the heart! Good stuff here! What sets Shaka Shaka apart from all the other million tea shops??? It's their use of fresh fruits and ingredients! They don't use fake milk or creamer product here, which means no saturated fats and yucky things that other Asian tea shops use. You can still feel relatively healthy while drinking one of these. You can also customize what fruits and make combinations of your own. They also offer soy or almond milk as a replacement if you don't want whole milk. I had the taro and coconut... it was so delicious! I also ordered a strawberry banana and watermelon smoothie for my kids and for Grandpa... let's just say that they loved today's after school snack! Maggie, the owner, was at the shop today. She's sweet and very knowledgeable about her product. If you're not sure of what to order, she is extremely helpful. The customer service rocks! They have a nice selection of different bubble teas and smoothies to choose from. All made with fresh fruits and actual tea, no powders here used! You're able to choose from the level of sweetness and if you'd like boba's or not. I usually don't like getting boba but decided to try it since it's the first time here. Glad to say, they are cooked perfectly. Not mushy and not hard. There's also not an overwhelming amount of them inside. It's a good amount for me. In addition to the beverages, they also sell lots of snacks. Packaged ones such as jerky chips, shrimp chips and regular chips. Freshly made macarons, stuffed cookies and donuts were also displayed.
