The crowds are justified. Everywhere you go, there is usually a line outside the door when it comes to Shake Shack, and for some reason it's worth it. That reason is due to the delectable delights that are offered. I recently devoured a smokehouse chicken sandwich and haven't been able to stop thinking about it since. I happened to be in the area after the Macy's firework display for Independence Day and decided to stop by for a quick bite. It was 10:53PM when i got in line to order. They close at 11PM so i had just made it. The line moved rather quickly and my order was placed at 11PM. While waiting for my order, i used their restroom and it was FILTHY. It did not have a working faucet as well. I attempted passing this information on to an employee but he did not have a care in the world upon hearing this. After my visit to the restroom i resumed the wait for my order, which ended up lasting 27 minutes from the time the order was placed( all i ordered was a burger and fries). The employees appeared to be confusing order after order, requiring some customers to return their orders. When i arrived home, i sat down to eat, only to discover my burger was burnt to a crisp. I have eaten at this establishment many times before at various locations and have for the most part had a good customer experience. I understand that it was closing time on Independence Day and all the employees were probably looking forward to getting off their shifts but that's not an excuse for the terrible customer experience i received. I would have been willing to look past the filthy restroom and long wait time if at least the food was of signature Shack Shack quality but sadly that was not the case. If you can not guarantee the same level of service and quality at ALL operating hours then do everybody a favor and close shop early. Customer experience should NOT be an afterthought. This is my first experience with Shake Shack. I've heard a lot of great things. Was prepared to be blown away. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. Ordered the Shake Stack with a peanut butter shake. The burger was okay - nothing to jump up and down over. For $9.15, I was expecting something to happen. All I got was the feeling that I wanted to be eating a burger somewhere else. The peanut butter shake was serviceable. It wasn't bad. It wasn't good. It met the requirements of being a shake. The atmosphere was good. The music didn't prevent conversation. The counters and tables were clean. The staff wore gloves. As unremarkable as that should be, I've been surprise lately by how many places ignore the need for gloves when handling food. Maybe, it was a one time thing. The next time might be better. This time, the first time wasn't all that special. Then again, the first time with many things is mostly hype followed by a let down. But Shack Shack really took that and changed it. Here I saw customer's service that I have never witnessed in a place that is a part of a huge organization: A woman complained that she got the Burger well done and asked for medium well. I'm a diplomat, so I work abroad for long periods of time. I like to re-acclimate to my wonderful country by eating my favorite meals. So, there was no question that I'd get my burger fix via Shake Shack. My double cheeseburger was cooked and seasoned to perfection. It was so tasty and juicy and it had crispy edges. Ugh, I couldn't help but do a little happy dance and roll my eyes towards the back of my head while eating this sandwich. That burger was well worth ten dollars (not more, though, so don't get any ideas Shake Shack!). I received very good customer service before and after eating my meal. The cashier patiently answered my questions about new menu items, and one of the team members kindly collected my tray and inquired about my experience after I ate my burger. Service is extremely slow. Staff can be disconnected and rude. I asked one of the pick up servers if I can have a cover for my to-go meal, he puts the box on top, just floating above not closed or anything like, "that's the best you're gonna get." No thank you. I came on a Tuesday night and though the kitchen and counter seemed on point, the dining area was a mess-- dirty tables, chairs, and littered floors. The furniture has been showing lots of wear and tear for at least a year (the last time I came). I tried their spicy chicken sandwich which got too soggy bc of all the dressing on the slaw. Upon entering the location [which has both indoor and outdoor seating], my jaw dropped when I saw how large the menu was [ thanks to Oktoberfest they have really cool limited time offers] a burger joint with Oktoberfest beers on tap? or beer and wine period?! yeah you got my attention already! the brat burger was a big hit, for 7.50 you get a beef burger grilled to perfection, with crispy fried shallots and a grilled cheesy stuffed bratwurst dog and shacksauce, I was in a food coma afterwards. the cheezfries were super cheesy and crinkle cut with very little oil, big plus ! the double smokeshack burger was phenomenal, had a nice spicky kick to it , water is always on deck and for free by the condiments to wash it all down. the black and white shake was heavenly, I didn't even ask them to make it extra thick but they did anyway, I guess I just have good luck like that. I like the system of this place, you order and you get a electric device that notifys you when the food is ready, and we didn't even have to fight for a table in the meantime because the space is so large, they had tables enough to seat 4-6 people and they were super clean [sanitizer everywhere ftw!] the food didn't take longer then 15 minutes tops, and they take cash or credit. I love how they always update the menu, leaves the customer wanting to come back for more. they always have new variations on the shakes [pb or salted caramel, yass], or frozen custards and deserts [seriously beats having a mcflurry anyday] really we did end up dropping 40 bucks on just simple American food, but you get what you pay for in terms of portion and quality. it is not frozen garbage, it is made with love, and you will never get bored of the options here and you can get drunk for a few extra bucks while your at it, what is there not to love here? Who doesn't like burgers and fries? This location is pretty big with a lot of seating. There is also extra seating outside. Came around 7 pm and the store was not too packed and wait time is the same as any other shake shack. I like coming for their cheese fries. I ordered a shroom burger and my friend had the shake burger. The shroom burger was hot that the cheese kept falling out of the mushroom. Both burgers were really good and the fries were crunchy and cheesy. I was also able to get extra cheese for the fries which was a bonus. Would recommend as alternative to McDonald's or Burger King. i love shake shack, it is my favorite burger ever, so i'm really bummed to leave anything less than a 5 star review. every single time i order delivery from this location, my order is wrong. i always request a side of shack sauce and ask for no sauce on the burger itself. i have never actually gotten the side of sauce. sometimes i get sauce on the burger, which i really don't like texture wise but what can ya do. i also always order pickles. i get them maybe half the time. today i placed my 5th or 6th delivery order and i received no side of sauce and avocado instead of pickles. i also work in food service and make a lot of takeout tickets, so i know it get confusing and chaotic, but i hate that i can't count on actually getting what i pay for. read more

This is one of the best burger places in Brooklyn. This is a chain but the double smokehouse burger is amazing. The staff is always great. We were there a few weeks ago and when orders were taking a little longer than normal, the manager was touching tables talking to guests about it and describing the issue. I hardly eat meat and I've only been to the franchise 3 times but last night was worth reviewing. I went to Shake Shack last night and it was a great experience. The cashier who took my order was really cool and made sure he got my order correct. Since I don't frequent the establishment, I forgot to ask for the burgers to be well done and when I asked a worker if I could get my burgers done over, they didn't hesitate or give me an attitude about it and told me not to worry about it. They even brought the new burgers over to my table, which I wasn't expecting. My boyfriend enjoyed his smoke shack burger and my burgers hit the spot. The line was long as it was right before the game but it moved quickly, even though all tables were taken we were lucky to find a spot quickly and sit down. another couple looking for a table asked to share our table and we said yes, i didn't mind this being that the store was so busy and i would've probably done the same thing in order to have a nice meal before heading to the basketball game. The chain has really good food. It is like traditional fast food, but tastes much better. The only problem is that the food is way too overpriced. For instance, a small chicken shack is about seven bucks. Furthermore, this location is always busy and you can hardly find seating. Another problem is that the staff confuses orders sometimes and since there is so many people, they can be disorganized. All in all, great food, but way too expensive. read more

Shake Shack is definitely my favorite chain restaurant in NYC. I love it so much that my New Year's resolution was to go 2 whole months without going to Shake Shack. And I can say that I haven't done it yet. (I probably won't) The quality of the food is amazing. Everything tastes so so good. The Shack Burger, Fries, and a "Black and White" shake are to die for. However, the prices aren't. I seem to spend $20 on myself just to be full. In the end it's worth it but I feel like I can't go here more than once a month based on how much money I have. Also, sometimes there is nowhere to sit and you are fighting with 4 other parties for a table. But if you can get one, you're lucky. The positives of Shake Shack for sure overrule the negatives and that's why I love it so much. Everyone should try it when in NYC! read more
