This was an average experience. We placed a mobile order as we didn't have time for a sit down lunch. It stated our order would be ready shortly and we'd receive a text to head in and pick up our order. The text came about 7 minutes later and I headed in to pick up my order. I ended up standing there for about another 15 minutes before anything was actually ready. That was already a slight disappointment. The food was pricey considering we got 2 burgers, 1 (tiny) fry and a (tiny) milkshake. The burgers were both pretty good. We had the SmokeShack and ShackStack. Juicy and flavorful. The portobello mushroom in the ShackStack burger was crunchy and flavorful but watch out for the hot, oozing (but delicious) cheese that shoots out at you!! The shake was average tasting and VERY small for $5.29. The fries were good but, again, very small for almost $5. Our experience was so-so. We were expecting more on taste and overall experience. Will we return? Only time can tell... our excitement has definitely gone down many notches! read more

This shake shack was just as delicious as any other I've been too! It was even more special to me because I came on a day during a winter storm and it was open while almost every other establishment was closed... plus it was my birthday so I was really satisfied! The staff was very personable and pleasant, even in this nasty weather. I placed an incorrect order (my fault) and the cashier offered to just remake it which was really nice of her... I declined because I just needed to add lettuce and tomato which they gave me on the side. Over all this was a great experience and I'm so happy I don't have to go far for this yumminess! read more

We usually swing by this place early afternoon on the weekends - one of the few places nearby that allows dogs on the patio with you. I've enjoyed this addition to MoCo and the food is good too. I usually get the mushroom burger and fries - good! The place is usually pretty tidy. Sometimes the service is a smidge slow but not terrible. The employees have always been friendly and at times will come around and ask how my dog is doing (which as a pawrent is pretty sweet). They've brought water to my dog and overall a nice atmosphere. read more

Their burgers are the best in the fast food world and their shakes compete with anywhere fast food or not. Absolute great service from the front team & BOH to the management. Very quick and efficient service. I waited no longer than 3 minutes to be waited on. The cashiers was fantastic and friendly. She was cheerful and great! She read back my order to confirm everything was correct. After about 7 minutes I had requested to sit outside since it was beautiful day. I waited inside for my food and my colleague waited outside for a table. They actually brought our food out to us, that was awesome I'm use to waiting inside for my name to be called for my food so the fact that it was delivered to me outside to my table is phenomenal. To some people, y'all might think of course they have to do that it's their job. Actually no. They can easily just call out your name and you take your own food to the table yourself but here in this situation the shake shack team in Tuckerman lane worked together to make sure folks was getting their food immediately under 10 minutes. Great experience and great lunch. Mushroom prepared perfectly. Cheese fries were a huge hit and the sauce was a welcome addition.

The service is always good. Friendly people at the register. Only problem is the food can be hit or miss. Sometimes the food tastes great and I want some more and other times, it's not good and makes me want to avoid this place for a while. If they could get more consistent on the good food, I'd come here more often. read more

I may be in the minority about the food. However, it was the most bland disappointing burger I have ever had. The fries were just okay but nothing to write home about. I also purchased the chicken bites for a child hoping that he would enjoy that i in a tear of a cheeseburger. They were tasteless, he commented that Chick-fil-A was much better as far as flavor. The milkshake went great either. Only thing that I truly enjoyed was the pink lemonade. Some of the staff was friendly enough but others ignored some customers. The dining area land bathrooms were relatively clean plus the staff followed the State of a Maryland guidelines and kept their mask on. In conclusion, I would not return at all. First time to a Shack Shack and I was pretty excited... not impressed! The food is fine. Not great, but the fries are really good (especially if you like them salty). I ordered quickly and was given a buzzer. The wait was not too long, but when my buzzer went off and I went to the pickup counter...Nobody. I finally let the cashier know and she got things moving. HOWEVER, my bag had been sitting there. They put the fries in last, so I was happy they wouldn't be cold, BUT... this was a to go order. Everything is just put in the bag in an open container. Nothing is wrapped to keep it warm. So, I ate the fries in the car on the way home because who likes cold fries? The other three fries and the sandwiches were room temperature. I spent over $50 on lunch for four people (two of them toddlers, and we didn't get drinks) and it wasn't worth it. read more

I was so pumped to have a Shake Shack near me! Unfortunately this is literally the worst Shake Shack I have ever visited. When I came for the soft opening, the service was fabulous. My food came quickly and was amazing. I always get the Chick'n Shack- I used to work at Tysons and would go for lunch when the line wasn't ridiculous. However, even when the line was ridiculous at Tysons, their service was somehow noticeably faster. The first time I came with my family it took over 40 minutes to get my food even though I ordered on the app (per a massive sign behind the counter saying to do this). The next time I came I ordered on the app and my sister waited in line. I put my order in while we were walking through the parking lot and after waiting in a line of 4-5 people ahead of us, my sister paid and got her pager. Then we waited for about 10-15 minutes and her food was done before mine! I ordered for one! She ordered for 3! I couldn't believe it. I was still working on being understanding, this is their first few weeks. Well now it's been a while and EVERY time I come here, the wait is ridiculous and the food is much less delicious than other branches (including Union Station which is always bumpin'). Wtf Shake Shack Cabin John? Why can't they get it together? One day an associate literally stood behind the registers and yelled at everyone in line that it would be at least a 20 minute wait. No matter if I get a buzzer or order on the app, I receive my notification to pick up my food about 10 minutes before it's ready. They make the shake at the beginning of your order so it's basically foam by the time it gets to you. Pretty rich considering you pay as much for a shake as you do a burger. The associates are fed up by their notification system and are now hostile toward the customers who come to get the food. And it's crazy frustrating to see that there are loads of burgers and fries that are finished and waiting for...what? I don't know. There's also been multiple times that Ive ordered on the app and when I get to the pick up window they try their best to ignore me and then when I say my name, the pick it up from some mysterious shelf out of view where it's been sitting and cooling for who knows how long. With my shake that has been heating up at an incredible rate. I feel like this Shake Shack was put on this Earth to test the patience of humanity. Maybe I am actually in Tartaraus and this is some kind of trial - what should be some of the most delicious food if it didn't take so long to make by the most bitter people on the planet. read more

Ok I had to come and try this place. I had been to the original shake shack many years ago in NYC and loved it! I've been to the one in DC as well and it was busy but pretty good. I read about the long wait at this location so I downloaded the app and ordered ahead of time. I like that you can do that, customize your order, and then they tell you when to be there and they text you when the order is ready. They get one star for that. We ordered the smokehouse, the spicy chicken, the mushroom burger, a regular cheese burger, and fries. First off, they got all our toppings wrong. We were missing lettuce and tomatoes and one of us got hot peppers instead? Which is terrible since he doesn't eat spicy food. The burgers (we got one regular and one well done) and the chicken were extremely dry? I kind of expected a lot more taste wise. I had the spicy chicken and it was that, just spicy, no flavor. I threw the rest of mine away since no one wanted dry spicy chicken and ate my daughters cheeseburger. She didn't like it but I thought it was pretty good, nothing special, but ok. My friend said her mushroom burger was just ok, fried to a crisp and kind of dry? Which is a weird thing to say about a mushroom.. I did like the crinkle cut fries. Terrible service and over-priced! I went in at 9:45pm, ordered fries and a burger. Waited ten minutes or so. No fries, no burger and there were only 4 other customers in the shop. There didn't appear to be a sense of urgency and all 10 employees were moving at about 2 miles an hour. There was lots of TALKING amongst the employees, but again, no sense of urgency. The manager finally came out to troubleshoot the problem, but for me it was TOO late! I had just gotten off from work and I was HUNGRY! He refunded my money and apologized. I've been in this location several times since they've opened and it always seems extremely disorganized. I've owned and worked in several restaurants and have never seen such disorganization with so many employees behind the counter. If you go there, please expect to wait a bit. read more

Not worth the prices for the food quality and service. I went to try it because my kids rave about Shake Shake. I order 2 burgers and fries. 18.00! Wow that better be a great Burger. Not at all. Dried out and over grilled. The store was not busy when I was there for lunch. I guess the rest of Potomac realized it's not worth the time or money. The fries where old and stale sitting up top for a while. I asked for fresh fries did took 6 minutes to recook fries. Crinkle cut are good was the only food I enjoyed. There where hot red peppers stuck to my bread yuck. I hate hots on bread rolls. I was hoping to enjoy this spot but I can not. Not for the quality with a McDonalds right across the parking spaces. The staff definitely is not from the area. The patio is loud and dinning room even louder. No mayo packets and no grilled onions or other topping. Very plane Jain burger for the price. Right after paying at the cashier I was told to designate on a charge machine how much I was tipping which was impossible to see regardless of the fact that I was being pushed into a tip. I found this to be very unprofessional, tacky, and pressure orientated. Most importantly the food was awful!! The Bacon cheeseburger was awful. . You've got to be kidding me with that chicken 'sandwich'! I was upstairs when I heard my fiancée said "it's a slider". I thought she was trolling me. When I got to the table, she was not joking. It was smaller than the burger AND more expensive. $7.19 for that?! Lovely Shroomburger!!! I work very close to this location so i find myself here often. I always get a shroomburger because i don't eat beef and they are so delicious. The mushroom is super crispy and they don't go light on the cheese. My one quibble with it is that it's not too big and for around $8 i expect a liiiiitle more. but overall i do truly recommend it, it's incredibly solid and never gets old. My one actual critique is with their drinks! I got this summer mojito virgin refresher and it was really sweet and sour! i know mojitos are meant to taste this way but i think the recipe goes a little too far. i wish it wasn't pre-batched is all so they can modify the extreme amounts of sugar and lime juice. The service here is pretty quick given how busy they are and the cashiers are always nice and i like the management a lot too. good place just wouldn't recommend the drinks. read more
