Shake Shack hit the Shake Shack mark at this new location. The mall complex has upgraded over the years, heavy face lift to the mall and new shops. The restaurant is in a good spot, clear of the poor traffic flow that has gotten worse with the mall's evolution and easy enough to get in and out of. Food quality is identical to all of their other locations. Once the holiday shopping season ends this store will be about the right size, for now though they're swamped. This will be a frequent burger stop for my daughter and I ! I hope Shake Shack life long bans JD (previous review) who talks about big city prices, being robbed, and taking his business to Wendy's. This guy. Same type of dude that would rather crush Cici's buffet than go to an actual pizza place. When Shake Shack first came in I was kind of excited. However not so excited I would be willing to wait 30+ minutes for lunch. The hype was ridiculous for what you actually get. The food is expensive considering that it is completely average. Not awful but not phenomenal either. So happy that Shake Shack has opened up in Delaware, I have enjoyed Shake Shack in the past at its Citi Field and Times Square locations, but it's great that we can now enjoy it away from the extremely long lines and crowds of people. The lines are a little long right now, but definitely not as long as the lines experienced in NYC. The staff are very friendly and the food was prepared in a quick manner. I ordered the shroom burger (which is a breaded mushroom stuffed with cheese), which was so delicious with every bite. I also ordered the very delicious Christmas cookie shake, which was a sugar cookie custard with red and green sprinkles and whipped cream on top. The inside of the restaurant was very clean and we were able to find seating fairly quickly. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good tasting burger and a milk shake. read more

Thank you Danny Meyer Group for opening a Shake Shack in Delaware. My husband and I love the SmokeShack, the ShackStack, the shakes and the fresh cut fries. When the weather is warmer, I'll be getting one of the concretes. While there are other places in the area that also use fresh beef, they do not approach the quality of the Angus beef used in these burgers. Shake Shack uses higher quality ingredients than any of the, so-called, comparable places. Practically nothing can beat Niman Ranch bacon. Fresh cheese and the lush portobello mushrooms. The buns are lovely. I appreciate that you can choose not to have the bun and have your meal wrapped in fresh lettuce instead. I know some people think that the prices are too high, but I do not mind paying more for higher quality of ingredients. The staff is friendly, the kitchen is spotless. That is a testament to the high standards that Danny Meyer has always kept in all of his restaurants. I know that I will continue to be coming in very frequently. read more

Sadly the food is pretty good but their chicken sandwich has gotten smaller and smaller, it's now the size of a chicken tender being swallowed on a bun. They also apparently can't hear things when you order despite having an entire conversation about cheese selection, then use an excuse that it's really hard to hear with the music and the fryers.... Very disappointed about our visit to this location. In Delaware for a vacation, really was anticipating our meal arrived right at opening to beat the crowds. Walked in with 5 other patrons as we were about to order the employees rush to the registers to let us know all they have is 6 patties, in the whole building. The person in front us ordered all six. We come to this establishment to have a tasty burger and shake. And told they have none. I don't understand the incompetence of management to not realize close of business Thursday you only have 6 patties for Friday. And that they are running to a store to purchase patties. Should have been taken care sooner. We drove out of our way to eat at a Shake Shack, now we will be driving home to detour to another location. Hope they are able to serve me a burger. read more

Ordered online and sat inside to eat. After seeing the long lines since they opened, we figured we would give Delaware's latest burger joint a try. The online ordering is phenomenal and allows you the convenience of arriving to hot food. Since the place is known for hamburgers and shakes, I stuck to the franchise staples. I ordered a double, shake shack sauce on the side, a order of fries, and a salted caramel shake. First, the milkshake was great. I enjoyed the flavor. However, for the size of the milkshake it was a few dollars overpriced. The burger came wrapped in paper, and was exactly what I ordered. They use small hamburger patties, so I was glad I ordered the double. Taste was good, yet nothing special, it's an unfrozen hamburger patty. You can get this at almost ever burger joint now though. Served on a potato roll, the sandwich fit well, and the bread to meat ratio was good. But, I don't see anything special that would put this burger over Jake's or Five Guys. French fries are crinkle cut style. Not bad. Overall, 3 stars out of 5. Not a place I would miss if it disappeared. And that's not good for them. I give the business 2 years, maybe 3. read more

I've been to this place a couple times before but as on 8/18/18 I will NEVER EAT AT THIS PLACE AGAIN. It's always been pricey but the service and quality of food I received last night was absolute GARBAGE. First of all most the employees there seemed to have an attitude like they didn't want to be there or couldn't be bothered to make the food except for the elderly lady manning the register. I saw the cook give complete attitude to the server girl getting my order ready. Completely unprofessional to have your employees arguing and one complaining ABOUT HAVING TO DO THEIR JOB. I don't know what kind of ghetto trash they hire here but I'll never come back. I got a burger for my girlfriend who was getting off work. When she bit into it her face cringed with complete disgust. She spit it out immediately. I took a bite to see what was wrong. It was like they poured an entire salt shaker on it. This burger had so much salt on it, it was rendered completely inedible. I'm 100% positive that I the customer suffered because of your ghetto employees arguing about whatever and the cook took it out on my burger. It was so clear to see that I'm appalled that no manager or grown adult stepped in to stop whatever was going on. I saved the burger and was considering taking it back for a refund but I'll just take it a $15 lesson to NEVER EVER EAT AT THIS GHETTO "RESTAURANT" AGAIN. We were traveling ordered our food took them over an hour and a half to deliver our food. The delivery said 35-45 minutes. Call twice to check on order they said it's on it's way both times customers service is horrible. The milkshakes were complete liquid I called and told them about shakes they said they would send new ones right out they never showed up.. Manager is the one that I talked to about the shakes. Competitors like Five Guys, Red Robin, and Fuddruckers offer much better food and value. I had a vanilla shake which tasted pretty similar to a vanilla shake at McDonald's. The one at McDonald's doesn't cost 5 bucks though. The french fries...horrible. They have crinkle fries. You know, the kind you used to have for school lunch or you would buy in the frozen food section of the supermarket. Terrible. The burger was just ok. Not worth 10 bucks. I've had better burgers at Wendy's and Burger King. Definitely had better at Five Guys and Fuddruckers. Overall the food was average at best with above average prices. The smoke shack burger was ok. I could do without the chopped cherry peppers on it though. The fries, crinkled cut. Were just fries nothing special. I had cheese added which was clumped a cold. Not the smooth flowing cheddar cheese I'm using to getting on fries. My strawberry shake was really good. I wish you had the option to get it in a med. or large. Instead of the standard size. Which seems to small. Especially when they don't fill them up. The portions are very small for what they charge. IMO they are overpriced for what they are selling. First time here and we loved it. Reminds me of Blaze Pizza. The place was clean and service was thru the roof. The manager gave me a taste of the beer to help me make my pick. My Shackburger was awesome. My daughter got the chix sand and loved it. My daughter got a shake and said it was very good. Prices were reasonable. It was nice that they had someone walking around helping clear tables. We need one of these in Cincinnati. There were a few dogs on the patio. That was cool. I don't live in this area (or state for that matter) and have no connection to the business. I highly suspect the very negative reviews for this are from local competitors. Great burgers, came out hot and fast. Place is always crowded, so lots of noises, but that's because the food is good. TVs also provide some to the wall of noise. Corner tables near the back are usually quieter. Perfect place to eat after a day of shopping. read more
