With a short layover in DFW we decided to try the hyped burger joint for the first time. Wow the Fries!!! I had the Smokey double. I have to admit it was great. The only drawback was the airport service. I should have expected it though. A few weeks before I had visited the TGI Friday's just down the terminal and had great service but just ok food. So my DFW service experience was abnormally high. My wife wanted Mayo. The tray was out so I stood at the counter ignored for quite a good bit. I finally just interrupted and got a dismissive look. Worst service. Seven people wandering around doing literally nothing while several customers waited for their order. Tables looked like they hadn't been cleaned all day. Lights got turned off at 4:40. This is an airport location, timeliness is important. read more

I paid almost $7 for a cheeseburger - they ran out of tomato and there's no onion or pickle on the burger! Really?! How does a burger place run out of tomato's? They also rarely serve shakes at this location probly cuz they're understaffed and the attitude of their staff is deplorable. read more

Pretty good food but could not get anyone behind the counter to refill the two huge napkin holders. everyone behind the counter ignored me for five minutes before another patron verbally got the attention of one of the ten employees behind the counter who were not very busy. read more

DFW Airport location. Kind of disorganized at order and pickup lines. Fries were OK but fried mushroom burger was inedible! Yuck! Could note bite through the mushrooms as they were so tough. Had to throw them away. Not another option for vegetarians. read more

I really enjoy eating at Shake Shack. Dijonae is an awesome manager who cares about the customer. She goes over and beyond the call of duty to ensure customer satisfaction. I always enjoy eating a chicken sandwich with fries and a strawberry shake. I can definitely recommend Shake Shack at DFW Airport. read more

I hope all Shake Shacks aren't this bad. People trying to catch a flight can't wait 20-30 minutes for a hamburger. By the time my burger finally came out, it was lukewarm. I got a Smoke Shack burger and didn't know it had sauce and peppers on it until the last 2 bites - they were all crammed on one end of the burger instead of being evenly distributed. The staff looked disorganized and without a process. Maybe things will smooth out once they're open longer. read more

At the time of writing this, I had just walked 30 gates (from C39 to C7) to get Shake Shack. I asked for two burgers and two fries. I even held up two fingers to indicate I wanted two fries. Ten minutes later the white girl working at the time brought my food out. There was one order of fries. I told her I asked for two fries. She said I was only charged for one. Thanks. That's quite obvious now. I asked if I could just order another fries real quick. She said, "Yeah, you'll just need to get back in line." Didn't have time for that; have a flight to catch, so I walked back to my gate. My wife pulled out her burger, and there was no sauce, no lettuce, and no tomato on it. I got the smoke stack. I should have been leery when my burger came out super quick, as in we only left grill marks on your burger and the meat will cook itself in your belly. The pickled diced peppers smelled foul and the bottom of my burger bun was not soaked with au jus (because they farkin' didn't cook my burger patty all the way), but the malodorous liquid the peppers were fermenting in. The only plus side was the generous amount of bacon they gave that made this burger too salty. Maybe this helped kill off all the burger bacteria as I only had a slight stomach ache after consuming the burger. The fries were crispy, but lukewarm. So one would think that, with a name like Shake Shack, one would be able to purchase a shake...apparently not the case. Went to grab a shake before my flight, was told that they had no custard and could not make any shakes. This is for the airport Shake Shack.. it 27 minutes to get my food!!!! So horrible! I was literally in shock that it was taking so long and there were 10+ workers working. That is horrible and even worse for an airport. People were leaving their food behind so they wouldn't miss their flights.!! AND THEN I got sick from this place and didn't feel well all night! I would give this place -10 stars if I could. I've traveled for work for 4 years and this was the worst I've ever seen. Someone needs to come in and fix this... the airport food needs to be served quickly. I have to say, I have eaten at Shake Shack many times at different locations! This was the worst experience! The food tasted good.. that's why the 3 stars! The service was HORRIBLE!!! The woman working the register with the long braids was HORRIBLY rude! Screaming at people about their orders! When you work in an environment such as an airport, you are going to have language barriers! Screaming at THEM because they don't understand YOU doesn't help people! Deceptive marketing in Terminal C. Seeking a healthy (or minimally unhealthy) vegetarian lunch, I selected the mushroom burger listed on the screen above the counter where you place your order. The menu screen doesn't tell you that the mushroom is DEEP FRIED. Worse, Shake Shack doesn't spring for an entire mushroom. Rather, the mushroom in the sandwich is only a millimeter-thick sliver of a mushroom. The rest of the mushroom patty is breading and cheese. Why not provide an entire mushroom? Are mushrooms in short supply? Did the Financial Times and Wall Street Journal miss the bubble in the mushroom market? I mentioned the deceptive-advertising-by-omission to the man behind the counter who offered to refund my money, but by that time my flight was about the leave and I didn't want to waste admittedly-edible food. read more

Just keep walking! Stopped at the Shake Shack in Concourse C at DFW today to grab a bite on an extended layover. I should have trusted my gut instinct and walked away when I saw almost all of the 9+ employees doing everything but working. The cashier was playing Pokémon Go, there were 3-4 people just standing around. There was one guy sneaking free food to another employee that just got off work, the guy filling drinks was standing there looking like he was in a coma. I was looking for a good burger and made the mistake of ordering out of desperation for something that tasted good. The cashier messed my order up but luckily I checked the receipt and headed off that before my food came out. She immediately went back to playing Pokémon Go. While I stood there waiting 8 minutes for my food while there were no other orders being prepared I surveyed the kitchen which was not clean. There was food all over the floor, the prep and serving counters were dirty. I watched as they assembled my order and cringed as they pulled my fried from the warming table (remember I said I waited 8 minutes). They had not made fries during the duration of my wait so, yes they were lukewarm. Then I proceed to get my condements and straw. You guessed it that area had not been cleaned recently either. Then, the dedicated dinning area that the Shake Shack has was also filthy. They have a package of wet wipes on the counter by the condements which I assume is for you to clean your own table since there wasn't a clean one in the entire area. The floor was littered with used napkins food and other debris. Completely neglected. If you have time to lean you have time to clean! To top it all off I paid $16.00+ for my mediocre meal. It's obvious that there is no one working at this restaurant that cares about anything more than picking up a check. Sad, very sad. read more

I had a limited amount of time between flights and stumbling upon this Shake Shack was a dream come true. It was lunch time and the line was only about 5 deep and moved quickly. Food was ready quickly as well and was the usual Shake Shack deliciousness that you would expect from any other Shake Shack. I had the Smokeshack with Cheese Fries and it hit the spot. read more
