Before my trip to Boston, I knew I had to try Shake Shack. As a girl from the west coast, I had to see what the whole Shake Shack vs. In n Out debate was about. Bottom line is, the burgers here are really good. I went here twice on my four-day trip, if that tells you anything. The first time I went, I tried a Shack Burger and a Black&White Shake. I figured if I'm going to Shake Shack, I need to get a burger and a shake. Silly me forgot to get fries... Anyway, the burger was great. The shake was okay but a bit too sweet for me. The next time I went, I got a 'Shroom Burger, Cheese Fries, and a Strawberry Lemonade. I didn't want to get a vegetarian burger but the portobello mushrooms sounded so good so I went for it. The cheese fries and strawberry lemonade were, of course, delicious. I hate when people compare two places like they do with Shake Shack and In n Out because the two are so different that they should not be compared. I've wanted to eat at the Shake Shack since seeing them in NYC a few months ago. We were in the mood for some burgers so decided to try the HS shake shack location! Next to the ordering process. You head to the cashier decide what you want, pay and they give you one of those buzzing contraptions when your order is ready! At the cash I noticed a wide selection of half wine bottles (even Ridge Lytton springs)! I ordered the smoke shack burger with a side of cheese fries and a L root beer (Abita brewing co.that was on tap). My wife and kids had shack burgers with fries. All were very tasty and exactly what you look for in a burger. Cheese fries were nice lighter and not too greasy! Burgers are a bit on the smaller side but I didn't feel like a double! We chose this place as they had some nice outdoor terrace seating facing a nice little park! The wife enjoyed it also! I got a shack burger and the bbq bacon cheese fries, and only waited for about 5 minutes to get them before heading upstairs. The burger looks and tastes amazing!!!! The meat was juicy and the look was very appealing. It makes me happy just by looking at it. The burger was enough to make me full even though it looks pretty small. The fries are great too but definitely very heavy so I would recommend sharing that if you can. I struggled to finish it myself. The bacon was a little burnt but I still enjoyed it. I have tried Shake Shack twice recently and I don't think I'll ever return. Shake Shack is the only place I've been to that has such slow service, made worse by the buzzers that give you the infuriating illusion your food is ready. Last week, it took 25 minutes to get a single hot dog. And last night I was hungry and wanted a quick, basic hamburger. I ordered and after a reasonable time, the buzzer vibrated. I waited a few minutes at the counter and asked the employee where the order was. He didn't verbally respond to me, although I could see my order in the kitchen. After 5 minutes the employee moved my completed order over, so it was lukewarm, not hot. Another person was waiting for a buzzed order even longer than me. The burger was tasty, but not worth the $8. Shake shack was good. I'm so excited one is coming to Indy! How does it compare to In and Out is the million dollar question everyone is asking. I don't have that answer so I will say it's my favorite east coast burger place. The service here was quick and efficient. After having just been somewhere that took their sweet time even coming to the register, I was pleased at this. I ordered a single burger and fries and chicken nuggets. The burger was amazing! This is no In-N-Out but based on the three or four times I've been to Shake Shack, I really enjoy the burgers, fries and shakes. It's definitely quite EXPENSIVE for a fast food concept, but I guess (MAYBE) the quality makes up for it. I'm not sure if it's just me, but every time I eat a burger at other joints, I wouldn't be able to have another one because of all the greasiness. However, I'm always down to eat another Shack burger without a hesitation. (Well it also depends if I'm okay with throwing down another $8-10). To be more specific, I always order the "SmokeShack" burger, which is the cheeseburger with all-natural smoked Niman Ranch bacon, chopped cherry pepper, and the Shack sauce. You have the option of having a single or double patty, but of course the double patty costs extra. The burger tasted as juicy and fresh as it looks in my photo. I also love their shakes! Yes they are pricey but I always have to order one whenever I'm here. The fries also have a crispy exterior; I just love crinkle-cut fries. Putting price aside, I don't have a problem with Shake Shack. The service may be mediocre and slow/inconsistent depending on when you go, but overall I enjoy the food. The decor was cool industrial modern (a designer recognizes reclaimed wood when she sees it), fitting for Harvard. I went for a late lunch with friends and was surprised to see almost zero line. The service was very friendly and attentive, with someone even greeting us at the door. I got the Shackburger, no sauce, and a side of fries. The burger was juicy and satisfying, although the fries left something to be desired: I know they're trying out these new freshly cut fries, but they came out very salty and somewhat limp. The concretes that my friends got, though, were very tasty and made up for the lackluster fries. Caveat: I haven't tried Tasty Burger, so can't make that comparison quite yet. read more

I came here on a Saturday afternoon and the wait was about 3 minutes to order, 10 minutes for the food. I got a Shackburger and I remember getting one in NYC too. While the meat is incredibly incredibly delicious and tender, the rest of the burger (toppings and bun) are a bit lackluster to me. I'm more of a sucker for the DC gem Five Guys, which really excels at the toppings. The size is also difficult to deal with as a meal -- too small for just a burger, but too large for two. I also tried their corn dog with this in-house salsa as a part of a July 4 weekend special. Let's face it. I'm a shake shack homer. I plan my trips around their many locations. With that said, I finally had the opportunity to visit this particular Shake Shack and it was a major let down. Let me explain. Every Shake Shack I've been to has been clean and pristine. The food is always incredible. The workers are always upbeat and have a good vibe. This location is quite filthy almost like visiting a dirty Walmart where they take pictures of the weirdos and post on that People of Walmart site. There was gum and who knows what else on the steps and the bathroom is real ghetto. But if you can get beyond that, the food is amazing! I LOVE THIS PLACE! I come here for a bite to eat after my friends and I rock climb on Mondays and Wednesdays. Although a bit pricey, the burgers are definitely worth it. I don't even go for anything fancy, I just get the single Shack Burger! It isn't big, but it's incredibly juicy and the plain buns are really soft. Most burger places I eat at use fairly dry buns. It makes the bread stick in your mouth and leaves you with more of a bread taste rather than a taste of the meat and cheese. Shake Shack does their burgers justice and all you're left with is a nice, meaty, cheesy taste! Also, shoutout to one of the guys who work here, Noah. We went there for the first time, and it happened to be my buddy's birthday. It was near closing time, and Noah offered us a free order of fries. Then 2 more. Luckily I'm Boston there are several Shake Shacks with little to no lines so my sister and I stopped by and see what the hype was about What we got: 1.) Shack Burger- 3/5- Your typical burger. Literally devoured it without really a special lasting taste 2.) Double Shack Stack Burger- 5/5 My sister loved it. 3.) Black and White Shake- 6/5- I can literally SURVIVE on this. SOO SOOO GOOOOD. 4.) Butter Caramel Shake (can't remember the exact name but it was a weekly special)- 3/5- too buttery and sweet. Can't really define it but it's not so good 5.) Shack Meister is pretty good. Not too shabby. The fried shallots reminded me of onion rings and I wish I got extra! I added lettuce and tomato because no way can I eat a burger with just buns, a patty, and fried shallots. I didn't really taste the special sauce they have I didn't even know it came with it LOL. 15% off student discount which is great for students like me! I don't know what it was buut I order my food on their app. Got a message saying it would be done at the estimated time. When I got there I was greeted by nice man who ask for my name and handed me my order. No wait no nothing. We got the shack burger , 10 ct Korean bites, fries, and chicken shack. Half way on our car ride, I couldn't wait because we were out all day and hungry so I ask my spouse to hand me some fries and chicken bites. To my surprise, the chicken bites were delicious, well seasoned and fries were still warm and perfectly salted. When we got home I had the burger and chicken shak. It was all flavorful and yummy . I shared with my spouse and we were hella satisfied with both their service and food. The app is mad easy to use and I got there a few minutes after the estimated time.
