Super solid Shake Shack, as a chain should be imo! I got a Pumpkin Patch Shake, which was all my pumpkin spice dreams coming true. Spice-y, sweet with a tad bit of saltiness to it. We also got Bacon Cheese Fries to share, and I got a 'Shroom Burger. The 'Shroom burger was a bit wet/moist, but it wasn't uncooked or anything, and it tasted delicious. Just a bit weird. Restroom was very clean, which I appreciate since I have to brush my teeth after meals for Invisalign! It's the worst when bathrooms smell or the sink has water spilled everywhere. Visiting the shake shack after a gap of 4+ years. Last time I remember visiting it in 2019 at their 33rd/34th St location. Thankfully this time I tried out the hamburger instead of sides. I ordered a shack burger, crinkle cut fries topped with cheese and frozen hot cocoa shake. The shack burger was good especially the potato bun which was really soft with the right amount of butter applied while toasting it. The patty was cooked to perfection and now I understand why people consider this chain as the best one in the town! Fries weren't that good, they lacked the crisp and were a bit on the salty side but the portion size was good. Frozen hot chocolate shake was really delicious and I felt this was probably the best shake I have had in a while! The shake was topped with marshmallows and it felt really delicious. Solid. What's with all these terrible reviews on here based specifically on delivery? What do you expect? It's upscale pricey fast food- get your butt over there and grab it yourself! Besides, it should be eaten within minutes of being made. Anyways I stopped by a Saturday late afternoon and was pretty impressed as it happens to be a beautiful location with a great seating area in the back and tables in front outside as well. Most of the locations in nyc are so packed. This was actually enjoyable. I ordered a double cheese burger wrapped in lettuce, with fries (cheese on the side), and a 1/2 & 1/2! You order on a kiosk and they text you when order is ready. So easy. Staff was friendly and the space was kept very clean- they were constantly cleaning tables as people got up. One of the better fast food places in Hoboken. I came here at around 6, place was pretty empty. I was there with friends for a birthday, so i ordered a plain hamburger with fries and a vanilla milkshake. Somehow, this cost me $19.69. WHAAAAATTTTT??? I ordered on the app. They have a nice monitor to tell you when your order is ready. But it isn't showing any updates. Same experience last time. They send an e-mail saying they will text you when your order is ready. They did not send me a text either times I've visited. They have someone handing you your orders. The first time they labeled all the bags and I finally checked after waiting a long time and my bag was on the side, unlabeled, and the food was cold. The next time the person helping was joking with the register staff and my food was once again getting cold. He looked very overwhelmed a bit later when we put a second order in. About 8 people waiting. And multiple bags that he was not putting on the shelf. Then a meat order delivery came in and he had to deal with that. It's too much for 1 person, maybe updating the monitor would help. After looking at his job, I could see why he took a few minutes to joke around with the other staff, he intermittently gets swamped. I really wonder if they put the new people at this job. For the price of what you're getting, quick food, your would think they would get their act together. It's a poor system, I can't blame the workers though, someone needs to get the monitor working and the text messages to consistently work. And came here and both bathrooms were closed. The water worked fine from the water fountain. Guess they just don't care enough to let their customers relieve themselves. Both the men's and women's toilets were closed. Edit: I went back today. Bathrooms still closed, but I saw employees in the area. The inside seating has a sign that says its closed for a private event. So it's still closed. But I saw employees using it as a break room. I think they deserve a break room. I just wonder when this private event will be, because the room has been closed for more than just today. If you like Shake Shack, this new location works. Interesting layout, with the computer stations and ordering up front, then table seating in the back under a glass atrium for a unique indoor/outdoor kind of feel. I went twice, and the burger, fries, drink were very good and on par with my expectations. Excellent service. There is space for some seating on Washington Street for better weather days. We loved the Truffle (Regalis) partnership Shake Shack had going on months ago. We saw the ad for the limited time Buffalo chicken Sammy and snagged it along with a free side of fries(SCORE!) This just so happened to be part of a limited time Doordash promo. The Buffalo chicken sandwich was amazing. Perfect texture, great breast meat quality and a nice southern splash of some cool ranch on top. 10/10 shake burger double was 10/10- get that shake shack sauce on the side. We decided to do halfzies as a couple which left me with nice 60/40 splits. I can't decide if I enjoyed my 60% serving of Buffalo chicken or my 60% serving of shack burger. Either way, both were a 10/10. 2 orders of fries cuz no one shares cringe cut, ya know. Own it! 1 chocolate shake we split as dessert. Ok, maybe 75/25, as in i consumed most of the shake. Finally tried this Hoboken location one Wednesday afternoon. We ordered for pickup via the app, and the estimated wait time was pretty accurate, more or less. We did the BOGO single shack deal for the holidays, the truffle burger, and truffle fries since the truffle items were a limited time offer. The truffle burger had a nice flavor and actually tasted like real truffle and not fruffle (the fake truffle taste you find in some Trader Joe's items). But I think I still prefer a regular shack burger. There was just too much going on in the truffle burger. My husband and I split this and I'm glad we did because I think it would have been too heavy for me to eat by myself. For the truffle fries, these were just parmesan fries and I believe they were supposed to come with a truffle dip - at least that's what I've seen in the ads. I didn't realize it was missing until we got home and I wasn't about to walk all the way back there, so that was probably my only gripe. I'm glad this location opened up so that I can now satisfy my Shake Shack cravings without driving anywhere or going out to the city. A big group of us came on a Sunday afternoon to hang out, and this Shake Shack has a back space that is fully covered but with natural sunlight. Lots of seating area, and we were able to gather a few tables and chairs for the entire group. I got a Smoke Shack Burger, and it was alright! For $9, I expected more, and it was very spicy with the pepper inside so I don't think it would suit everyone. The bacon in it was good. The Bacon Cheese Fries were alright, nothing too special. Came here on the first football Sunday of the year! The energy from the staff was amazing. They were all so nice and pleasant. My burger came with something I didn't ask for and without hesitation they made sure I got exactly what I wanted. The fries were slamming, but I've had better! Still enjoyed them. Finding a decent burger isn't a difficult task. There are a few local options which I very much enjoy, like Moran's or Oneals. However, I welcome Shake Shack for a variety of reasons. One, it's convenient. I downloaded their app, and ordered on Sunday and it was ready in 15 minutes. They make pick up very easy, and the customer service is top notch - I was walking my dog to pick up the order and an employee came outside with a homemade dog treat for him. The interior has four touchscreen terminals to enter your order, similar to how the app works. They have a dining area with about 10-12 tables, if you wanted to sit down to eat. If you are taking your food to go, they have both an interior waiting area or you can wait on the sidewalk. As for the burgers, I would give them a rating of 8.1 out of 10. It's a good, solid backyard burger. The kind of burger you would expect to have on a sunny summer day grilling with some friends. In a place like Hoboken this is welcome because many of us don't have a grill or a backyard! I'm deducting a few points because they don't have an option for sauteed onions. This was kindly explained to me by a manager, due to the size of their grill and sauteeing onions could seep to their toasted buns for other orders. That makes sense to me, but come on. Get a second (side) grill or a side pan for special requests? The cost was $5.99 for a burger with a single patty. I'm not a huge fan of the crinkle cut fries. Everytime I go there they taste like they are undercooked. I like my fries CRISPY and WELL DONE. Can we add an option to the app asking for well done fries? Fries are average. I'd like an option for onion rings as a side over fries. $3.09 for fries? Eh. The shakes are on point. Delicious. Some may think they are expensive at $5.49 each, but Rita's Italian Ice a few doors down has milkshakes that cost more at $6.50 each. My total cost, without tax was $14.57. I was pleasantly happy with my order. Would definitely go again. I tried a few days prior the Chick'n Bites. Meh. Not a fan of the batter/crust on the bites. $5 for 6 pieces. Average of 5.7 out of 10. If you are hankering for chicken nuggets, Chick-Fil-A in Newport Mall is far superior. Tried the Mango Passionade on another day. Again, average. Wouldn't order it again. Was underwhelming. Overall, I think Shake Shack will be an overwhelming success in Hoboken. read more

I am reluctantly writing a negative review, which I never do. As I'm sitting here writing this, my food is over an hour late from the original delivery window, and keeps getting pushed back further (note the original time window was 35 minutes). I tried calling Uber Eats, as directed in the app. Stayed on the line for 10 minutes, never got through. Tried messaging the restaurant through the app explaining the situation and looking for an update, and I immediately received a message saying my order has been fully refunded. It did not say that it was cancelled, so here I am wondering if I need to order somewhere else. Should add that I also called the restaurant, but was routed directly to voicemail with them saying they'd return my call within 24 hours. Thanks, guys. All in all, my first Hoboken Shake Shack experience has been incredibly frustrating. And yes, I'm hangry which is not helping. I understand delivery issues happen from time to time, but the fact that I was unable to find an actual person to talk to was...not cool. Decided to give this place another chance since my first experience before the pandemic where it was terrible. It did not get any better. I ordered a burger and fries which totaled close to $14. No drink. The fries were cold and hard. The burger was cold and rubbery. I sent everything back and asked for fresh hot product. They replaced it but the burger was not the way I requested it. I wiped off the sauce because I just didn't want to wait anymore. The staff was polite but obviously were not into their work. I will never go back to this shake shack again.
