Excited to have a shake shack on this side of the metro. Went to the drive through last night around 430. Line had about 8 cars and maybe took 10 minutes to get food not bad at all. I first ate at the Shake Shack in the MOA and the burgers were good, but not something that overly excited me. I went to the new location in Maple Grove and my impression was the same. However, the employees in MG were friendlier than MOA and the burger was cooked better. You will pay more than other fast food burger places, but I feel it's worth the extra cost. read more

Extremely high priced for a "Fast food burger" The pepper relish on the smokestack was overpowering. Burger was just "meh". When handing me the ordered soft drink, the crew member spilled it all over me and my car, never offered a napkin to me or an apology. Not impressed with food or service. Hardly any information on the drive up window. I couldn't locate an online menu. Imho, a drive through restaurant should have enough information for one to know what one wants before you get to the ordering spot. I was forced to fall back on 'give me one of your best selling hamburgers and your most popular shake.' First ever visit to the Shack. Came through the drive thru to order a single burger (shack burger?). For $6.50, I was expecting a hearty, two- hander but received a relatively small patty on an inflated bun. Meat was mid- grade at best (couple of gristle bits or tendon-like pieces). Lettuce was like chewing on nylon. Tomato was similar/rubbery. 10 min wait for the worst burger I've tried in the Maple Grove area to date. The cheese sauce for the fries was basically Cheese Whiz, and the $12 price for the Shack Stack burger for $11.69 was ridiculous!! Bad food overall. Wont eat here again or recommend it to ANYONE. I expected better. read more

So I gave it another chance and had a better experience. Burger is on par with Freddy's or Culver's. French fries are better here so I would choose the Shack over those 2 if not for the cost. Placed an order for Shake Burger, Cheese Fries, and shake at 8:35. Waited at drive thru for at least 8 mins. Got the shake. Lots of workers standing around talking. Girl finally told us to pull in slot 1 and someone would bring our food out. While waiting I watched several workers leave since they close at 9. (One that left kicked a bag of garbage from her car out of the way of her door and took off. Nice. At 9:07 a guy brought food out to the car next door who ordered after we did. He asked what we ordered. He apologized and asked for my card. He'd reimburse the food and make it. Ah, no, not comfortable handing over my card. I waited in the drive thru for almost 10 minutes. After waiting that long, you'd think at the very least the fries would be hot or even warm. Nope! They were ice cold and the burger was sub par at best. Almost $19 for a burger, fries and drink... I feel violated. Definitely do not recommend. read more

One, the price on their food is way too high. When I went there I ordered a cheeseburger, fries and a shake. The total came out to be 16.57. Which compared to a fast-food restaurant like McDonald's, the price would be about 10 or so dollars. Now keep in mind that I had to buy everything separately. The fries did not come with the burger. So everything I ordered was separate. Two, The food was not very well done. The Burger tasted like someone tried to burn the patty as much as they could. The Bun and the sauce on the other hand was a plus. The fries were polar opposites. Every fry that you picked up either had enough salt on one fry to give a person a heart attack or no salt at all. The proportions were ok at best. They gave me about a handful of fries in a little box. The shake was also mediocre at best. I am not a huge chocolate fan but this shake was not something I would eat again. When I tried to drink it I had to use a vacuum cleaner to get something out of the straw because of how thick the shake was. They also may have dumped the entire chocolate syrup into my shake entirely because it tasted very chocolate. Now with all of this negativity, I would consider their customer service was very good, They were very friendly and helpful when I was ordering. I would overall give them an 8/10 on the customer service side but a 3.5/10 on the food side. I would say that they spent too much money on the exterior of the building and not enough money trying to make the food better or make it just a bit less expensive. All in all, I would not recommend shake shack unless you are willing to spend fifteen dollars on a burger and some fries as well as a concrete shake that is impossible to get out of a straw. If you do go I would recommend that you ask the employees for a health insurance discount because after eating their food you probably need a hospital. read more

So I gave this a review already and felt like I should give this a second try.i did upgrade to an extra star because I went inside this time instead of drive thru to get a better perspective of what this place has to offer. I came on a Wednesday during dinner time. The inside was very clean and kinda fancy for a burger joint. The staff was very friendly. The food took about 110 minutes to get to me, but It was very busy and the employees were working so hard to get the food out. The quality of the food is 5 out of 5. I didn't thi k it was possible to get the bun saft and crispy at the same time. The fries were probably the best fries I've ever had. Not overly crispy, but soft enough to enjoy. Very fresh. I didnt order any of the meals on the menu. I ordered a double cheese burger, medium fry, and a large diet coke...and a small sprite for my daughter. And that came to $21. . Like I said in my first review, you get what you pay for...here you definitely pay for it. However I am glad I gave it a second chance, and I recommend that everyone give it a try. First and last time at this place. I always heard how good it was. I went the the drive through, told the person I've never been here before and what all came on the chicken bacon avocado sandwich, because in the photo there was more than chicken bacon and avocado. I was told it came with chicken and avocado. I said that's it? They said yes. I asked if you had to pay extra for what was on it in the photo? They said no. I asked again what all came on it, they said lettuce and pickles. This person was very rude and if I wasn't in the drive through I would have left. Ran into this place on my to Trader Joe's. Never knew it existed. I figured, "What the heck, it's 88° outside and good time to have a shake." So, I went thru the drive thru and ordered a strawberry shake. And with only one 16oz size avail at $6, I thought the price was a little steep. But boy, was it worth every penny! Hands down, this is the BEST tasting milkshake I have ever tasted in my entire life. The texture & creaminess was out if the world! The flavor was very good, not too strong & and not too sweet. It was indeed a dynamite shake! Only reason why I am not giving it 5 stars was because of how difficult it was getting into the drive thru. It's completely blocked off from the road. And therefore need to go through the parking lot to get into the drive-thru. And if all the cars are in their spaces, then you'll have to go to the other side of the road to somehow get to the drive thru. What a hassle! But on the other hand, what a milkshake! Horrible customer service, the people working were extremely rude. I was the one and only person in the drive through. It took about 10 minutes for my order. There were tons of people working and they were constantly looking over at me through the window and laughing. We have been here 3-4 times now (drive thru) and there is consistently something wrong with our order. My main issue that i'll here mention is that they don't handle allergy concerns well. We try to order a plain patty with no bun for my son who has a dairy allergy. They don't have a button for this I was told- so we have received the burger twice in a bun and once in a lettuce wrap. Our order was a drive thru order. We were told to pull up to the waiting area so we can wait in our car while they prepared our food. We waited for thirty mins only to find out that they never made it. My husband went inside and the employees on their lunch break were talking to the other employees working their shift. The manager had to come out to help us figure out why our order was never made and had to tell the employees to stop talking to each other. That was the level of customer service provided. They cared more about socializing with each other than to give us our food. They gave us our order and it was all wrong. Never going back. Did the drive through about 6:15pm last night. Only 1 car in front of me and staff standing in drive to take your order. They give you a menu card - which has NO prices BTW. Ordering 3 bacon cheeseburgers, 1 with no tomato was the hardest thing ever. Ordered 3 fries (only 1 size to choose from) and 3 B/W shakes. Holy ShakeShack $53 later. The burger had zero taste and didn't have any type of sauce on it, fries were cold and soggy and while the shake was okay, not worth $6+ for the size.
