Shake Shack is a great addition to the Newport Mall. The recent opening adds another great option to the wide variety of restaurants already established. The ShackStack burger I ordered was fresh and tasted just as good as the few times I've ordered from the Hoboken location. The crispy mushroom, cheese, and burger combination is amazing and a solid burger worthy of making the menu on a cheat day

I tried the pork tacos and chicken tacos with corn tortillas, but preferred the chicken over the pork (a little bit too spicy for me). Seating is pretty limited and standing only at counters. This location near Times Square is ALWAYS busy, so expect a line out the door and a battle to find standing room once you actually get your food. There's no time to be distracted here - look at the menu while you're in line so you can immediately know what to order once you reach the counter. Also keep an eye out for people trying to shortcut the line. Prices are steep per taco - is that really surprising in the heart of New York, no - but my favorite is the Adobada: so much flavor packed into the meat and balanced with the sweetness of the pineapple slivers. Second would be the carne asada (get this if you're a guac lover). Their agua de jamaica unfortunately is pretty bland so I'd stick to the classics next time and probably get a bottled Coke. They have a bar at the side for salsas and other toppings, but honestly the salsa is really spicy - yes even for me, the Mexican. I think the tacos are perfectly delicious without it but feel free to take the risk! And stock up on napkins because it can get messy :)

I ordered the vegan kimbap, which consisted of sweet potato, tofu skin, and some other vegetable fillings, in a bed of sticky rice, wrapped by seaweed. It was less than $10 outside of lunch time, which for FiDi is a deal! The service was quick, the staff friendly, and the space clean. I also liked the authentic Korean music and artwork, which gave it a more traditional feel than a standard fast food joint. They have a clean bathroom, too! Overall, I'd recommend this place!

They have a big menu to choose from spanning from fried rice, kimbap, bibimbap, to stews and more. Their signature "make your own bowl" had so many options, came generously portioned, and was so colorful and tasty :D The customization starts with a base: white rice, multigrain rice, japchae (noodles), or salad bases and moves onto a loooong list of toppings. A few of the more interesting ones like bellflower and fern brake roots were sold out when I ordered for dinner. And who else offers a fried egg for no additional charge as a topping? The toppings are yummy by themselves because they are already cooked or marinated. Definitely a great way to get one's vegetables! Proteins include bulgogi, pork belly, garlic chicken, spicy chicken, tofu, and even spicy squid. For kalbi, there's an additional cheese. The bulgogi was well seasoned and hit the spot! A little on the sweeter side but I didn't mind. The texture of the meat is mushier than the usual bulgogi, more of a Philly cheesesteak texture, but tasty nonetheless~ Don't count on this being authentically Korean. The bowls come with sauce options, but everything was so flavorful that I didn't use any! I agree on the hefty portion size; it's enough for a big meal if you're hungry and otherwise two lighter portions. Since the flavors, color, tastes, and flavors were so delightful, I finished it all so don't count on it lasting for multiple meals :) Patrons can order at the kiosks up front or schedule online to pickup. There's plenty of seating that looks fairly comfortable. Service was friendly enough. For more than $20 with tip, it's kind of expensive for a meal, but for the variety, taste, and relative healthiness, this meal was on point!

A vegetarian/vegan friendly dish too! At around 6:30pm on a Saturday there wasn't a line, and the seating was only about a third taken, of the roughly 30ish seats available. Cafeteria-style so no frills here. With only one person in front of me, it only took a few minutes to order and maybe five minutes for my order to be ready. Staff is friendly and fast, making sure to check the level of spiciness for the order. I chose medium and liked the fire without blowing out my taste buds. My dish had mostly oxtail tip ends so it's not a lot of meat on them, but the sauce is so flavorful and it's also in the bones. Yummy yum. Overall, I had enough bits of meat with the noodles and noodles leftover. Would I want an all-around meatier thicker cuts for extra? Maybe. I also got extra beef protein on the side for the rest of my noodles for later. That was yummy too. So glad that oxtail is returning to the menu. My friends also tried it and liked it as well. This location has seatings in the back. It gets crowded during prime lunch time, but more available at night. A few tables are blocked off too. They also have a long ledge table parallel to the kitchen to stand and eat quickly. It's a tight space, but it works.

I loved these so much, I've been searching where I can get in Arizona! - Spicy Cumin Lamb Burger: A unique combination of flavors, though ultimately this wasn't the item for me. Still fun to try and if you are a lamb fan, I think you'll love. - Spicy & Sour Pork Dumplings: Normally, I'm not one for pork dumplings but tried these. Wow! These have a richness and depth of flavor to them. As I write reviews from my trip a couple weeks ago, I think back to what were the highlights. This was easily one of my favorite catered meals. Great packaging and very enjoyable on the office. Love to visit the location to see the dining experience one day if I'm in the area again. Check this out if you are in Manhattan!

This time at the Times Square location after seeing Oh! Mary. Classic cheese smashburgers paired with Mexican Cokes. It's easily one of the better smashburgers around--juicy patty, delicious sauce, grilled onions, pickles and a soft bun. The burgers are on the smaller side (not White Castle small, but my daughter usually eats two!), but at $6.50 for a single patty cheeseburger, it's a OK value. Don't skip the fries--they are crispy, delicious, and a generous portion for the price. Quick, easy, and fast! The staff was friendly, welcoming, and easygoing. One small snag at this location. My daughter requested, "no pickles." There were pickles in her burger. No biggie. She simply took them out and gave them to me. This location's supervisor overheard us. He apologized. We told him it was ok. No big deal. He didn't accept that. While we appreciated his standards, we felt put on the spot as much as his crew did. We felt bad for the cashier and made sure we told him we were sorry for how things went down. None of it was needed nor justified. Hence, the 4 out of 5 stars! Fast-casual vibe that feels a bit more low-key than standard fast-food joints. At this location there's a few booths, but they are usually occupied. We had to wait a few minutes until people left to get seats. 7th Street always hits!
