We went to Shake Shack West Midtown this past Sunday. The burgers and shakes were delicious. These are still some of the best burgers around anywhere, not just Atlanta. Having gone to several locations inside and outside of Georgia over the years, the brand has done a good job with quality and consistency across locations, in my opinion. A few things that set this location apart, from my experience: 1. Better presentation. Whoever prepared our burgers on Sunday did a terrific job with the presentation. Shake Shack burgers are already, by design, supposed to be presented nicely. However, the burgers that we got here looked extra nice; a bit more care and detail went into their presentation. I appreciated that. Take a look at my pictures to see what I'm talking about. 2. Temperature. We dined in. Our burgers were freshly cooked and quickly served. They came out very hot, off the flat-top griddle. I actually had to wait and let the burgers cool off a bit, at first, before continuing to bite into them. 3. Greasier. I could just be misremembering or it's what I ordered (the Carolina BBQ Burger with Fried Pickles), but the burgers here were greasier than I remember the burgers at the other locations being. I also had some of my wife's ShackBurger to compare to the other locations. Anyway, we all generally enjoyed the food and service was good too. This is a solid Shake Shack location. For more details, keep reading. This Shake Shack replaced Yeah! Burger at Westside Provisions District (WSPD). Yeah! Burger was a fixture on the Westside for 12 years; it opened on June 10, 2010 and closed on June 11, 2022. Shake Shack then opened in this spot about six months later, on December 20, 2022. There are eight Shake Shack locations in metro Atlanta at the time of writing this review, in late June 2025. We parked in the nearby WSPD garage and paid $4.50 to park. Currently, the self-parking rates are: 0-2 hours $4.50, 2-4 hours $6.50, 4-8 hours $11.50, and up. Unfortunately, Shake Shack does not validate unlike other businesses at WSPD (e.g., lululemon validates). If you've never been to a Shake Shack before, the restaurant style is American fast-casual. Like other locations, this one has self-serve ordering tablets (4). If you dine in, you take a number and your order is served to your table on a tray. The West Midtown restaurant space is contemporary in design and aesthetically appealing. The storefront, patio, and outdoor step seating look nice and blend in stylistically with the higher-end WSPD look. The dining room inside and the patio outside are sizable. The patio is covered and has fans and string lights. Here's what three of us had: Burgers * ShackBurger (Double $9.99) - cheese, lettuce, tomato, ShackSauce * SmokeShack (Double $11.49) - cheese, bacon, cherry peppers, ShackSauce * Carolina BBQ Burger with Fried Pickles (Double $11.99) - pepper jack cheese, applewood-smoked bacon, tangy-sweet Carolina-style BBQ sauce Sides * Fries ($4.49) with a side of ShackSauce * Fried Pickles with Buttermilk Ranch ($4.99) Shakes * Oreo Cookie Funnel Cake ($6.49 plus $0.50 for sprinkles) * Banana Pudding ($6.49 plus $0.50 for sprinkles) The ShackBurger was terrific as ever. It's perhaps the quintessential cheeseburger to me. The ShackSauce differentiates it. Shake Shack's ShackSauce is like McDonald's Big Mac sauce or In-N-Out's spread. All are mayo-based, creamy, sweet, and tangy. In comparison, I believe ShackSauce is slightly less sweet and slightly more tangy. It's good and also perfect for dipping Shake Shack's crinkle-cut fries in, which is why we got a side of it. Shake Shack's fries are pretty standard. This was my first time having the Carolina BBQ Burger with Fried Pickles. I thought it was good, but not great. I prefer the traditional ShackBurger. The Carolina BBQ Burger had a lot going on with the bacon, barbecue sauce, and Fried Pickles which, while I don't mind them, I'm not the biggest fan of. The burger was too rich and intense for me. So, I'm not knocking the burger or the person who made it because objectively, I think it was executed well; it's just a personal preference. This is only the second time the Carolina BBQ Burger has been made available by Shake Shack. It's part of the company's 2025 Summer BBQ Menu. They debuted the burger as part of the Summer BBQ Menu last year (2024). The Fried Pickles side is new as of this year. My wife liked them, but they were just alright for me. The portion size here was underwhelming and disappointing. I don't think they gave us enough. The Banana Pudding shake was excellent. Both it and the Oreo Cookie Funnel Cake shake are also part of the limited-time summer menu. The shakes were hand-made/hand-spun (I caught a glimpse of the staff making the shakes). The 50-cent rainbow sprinkles are also only available for a limited time: June and July 2025. The food was mid, the workers seem quite demotivated. Came here at 7:30 pm was waiting for some friends for dinner. Tried getting some work done using the WiFi, was told they don't have WiFi? Perfect location, delicious food, awesome service. Clean restaurant and restrooms! We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and grabbed some shack burgers and chicken sandwiches with shack lemonade. It hits the spot every time! The restaurant is super cute and trendy. I love all of the tile detail on the walls and neon signs. Plenty of tables and seating inside. There was some parking available directly outside but we chose to park in the public parking garage across the street using Park Mobile. read more

Wow, where in the world is "Yeah Burger?" Why are we being nostalgic, but also how in the world did an amazing local restaurant turn into this attempt to barely make a burger? As the takeover of Atlanta is ongoing by major chains wanting to buy out prime real estate, Shake Shack is one of the latest depressive examples. Taking over a pandemic distressed local restaurant, that simply did not have the funds to run along, Shake Shack owned over the place, hired people to pay minimum wage without any discussion for talent and turned it into what's mostly, a disaster. Granted, the crew here tries hard to keep the place clean. Yet, the level of disorganization is extreme. It sits somewhere between an airport restaurant and an attempt of a meal. Meals take a long, very long time to prepare. Restrooms are an attempt to be clean. Kitchen is a wild place. Everything is one step away from disaster. Burgers are mediocre and inconsistent, at times overcooked. Perhaps, one of the sad examples where local businesses get taken over by large companies, hire people who should be working at Wendy's and create meals that are deeply deprived of soul. read more

Pulled up here to meet my cousins for a fun Saturday Burger and Shakes. We were excited about the Peach Milkshakes. Located off Howell Mill I opted for the Valet parking. Right across from the Shake Shack. Ordering was easy. They have kiosks.. but because the Peach Milkshakes were out we couldn't complete our order on the kiosks..We had our hearts set on that Peach milkshake .We ordered at the counter. I got Strawberry shake instead. I ordered the Shack burger with cheese and bacon.. it was nothing to brag about, it had a ok flavor. Strawberry shake tasted like Vanilla and they threw a strawberry in. We sat outside on the patio. It was cool until I felt the bugs biting. I probably was just being paranoid. One of the managers came out and asked how everything was. We voiced our opinion about the Peach shakes. He offered apologies.. they didn't think they would sell out like that . Insert my twisted lip and sarcastic remark.. " Peach Shakes . In the Peach State of Georgia .. you didn't think they'd sell that quickly, REALLY" They do allow your fur babies (dog) on the patio. We came here to grab frozen custard. I initially got chocolate because it's my favorite but it was very grainy ( not smooth) so I asked to switch it to plain vanilla, which was much creamier. I'll return to try out the food. read more

I was staying across the street and needed a quick lunch before I checked out and headed to the airport. I ordered via the app and my food was ready to pick up at the pick up window a few short minutes later. Food was good and up to the standard Shake Shack standard. While the burger and fries were good, the parking is too inconvenient. There is no dedicated parking, and the restaurant doesn't validate parking. So if you're coming here to pick up a to-go order, it's fine. But I would not recommend this location for a sit-down meal. read more

I walked in to pick up my order and I was immediately greeted by a nice African American young lady with a nice smile. There was a heavy set African American on the expo line that was very nice and attentive to me as well. There was a Caucasian man that was very tall and he was talking to the cooks a little rough but they were not having it neither was the expo guy. I can tell that they had been working hard for hours trying to get the orders correct and out the door. I feel like leadership should be more mindful how they speak to their team members in front of customers. I will say that it didn't make me feel good to see that kind of behavior. I received my food shortly after that. I should have asked for a beverage for the inconvenience of having to wait and be subjected to that kind of behavior. Burger was amazing! The chicken nuggets were okay, but also I looked too quickly and thought they were tenders so that's my bad. Love everything about this place, 10/10. I have tried a lot of things on their menu, but now I always get the same order! It hits every single time too! When door dashing though, the wait is almost always a long wait for sure, no matter what location you go to. But I remember one time I was waiting for a while for two orders and one of the employees gave me something to drink after receiving both as an apology for the wait! Very disappointed in my visit today. Ordered a veggie burger and a shroom burger from self portal, then waiting about 20 min as an employee approached me informing me they were out of the new veggie burger. She told me they could refund me when she finds suprvisor. I then waited another 10 min for the shroom burger until i requested a refund for that. They told me my shroom burger was ready. It was cold, soggy with brown lettuce. No apologies, no attempt to recover the transaction, nothing! I was told it would take 3 -4 days for refund to post. I love Shack Shack, its the only burger chain Ill eat at because you source your beef from local farms, however ill never visit this location again. The mgr was sitting at a table not directing the service at all. A few employees were wearing "crocks" which I know aren't food service standard. Had a very good experience at Shake Shack. Food is good and fresh and the truffle sauce is great but packs a punch so use sparingly. Overall, I'd come back. My only gripe is with the cost for everything. For 8, the cost exceeded $130 for rather small sized burgers but I guess this has become the norm. read more
