Yet another tea place has found its way into the mall and I couldn't resist. I promptly walked up and being my usual indecisive self, I asked for a flavor suggestion from the friendly cashier. He recommended the Jasmine Milk tea with Rose. I'm easy. I said yes. I asked for less sweet and it was done. No pearls for me-- I just wanted to enjoy the milky goodness. Heard a new awesome boba tea joint opened up near me so I had to give it a try while cruising the mall. Located in the corner, right across from Andersen Bakery. The menu is simple, which I appreciate. If you check in on Yelp, you can get a free signature drink (a drink you create yourself). My boyfriend got the oolong tea with boba. He said it was refreshing, but a bit too sweet for his taste. I got the free check-in drink. I was limited to either black tea or green tea, 3 flavors, and a topping. I got a mango peach black tea with mango jelly. I was surprised at the depth of flavor. I also liked how strong the tea was brewed. It wasn't watered down and it didn't taste like artificial flavoring. There was only 1 cashier and 1 person making drinks, so it did take a while to get our order, but we passed the time by browsing their huge wall of snacks; they had everything from chips to gummies, to poky, to mochi. The prices are super affordable and the drinks we ordered were extremely tasty. My favorite is definitely the Rose, Strawberry and Peach black tea. One of my favorite things about the place is that you can get as many toppings as you want and being someone who loves boba, I take full advantage of this. The service is always great - each of the workers I've met thus far have been friendly and enthusiastic, but I'll go ahead and make a point to say that one of the girls really stood out. Jenna not only made sure my drinks were made correctly, she gave me some great feedback for new drink combinations - and she did it all with a genuinely good attitude. My only complaint was the size of the cup. I wish they offered more sizes or at least a bigger standard cup. Getting more than one topping ensures that you'll have more boba than tea! This place is new to Oakridge mall and surprisingly pretty good! Located by Sears and across from Anderson Bakery, this venue is on the corner. There are a few tables and chairs in the middle of the aisle for customers to side and enjoy their drinks at but definitely not enough. I've been here twice. The first time I ordered a Blueberry Strawberry Smoothie with Honey Boba. I really really liked it ! The boba were very soft and chewy, and the drink had a nice consistency that wasn't too sweet. But this time, I decided to try a "Create Your Own Tea", and I ordered a Passion Fruit Green Tea with Honey Boba (my go-to at any new tea place). I also ordered another Passion Fruit Green Tea with Lychee Jelly for my momma (her go-to). This time the drinks took a while before they were ready, but that didn't bother me too much. My mom's drink was made with Honey Boba instead of Lychee Jelly, and the girl who made it apologized sympathetically for her mistake. After coming home and testing both mine and my mother's drinks, hers was much sweeter than mine. I was pretty upset about that because I shally prefer my drink sweeter, and she prefers it less sweet. My mom's comment when I asked her to make one is "these Lychee Jellies don't fit up my straw" Overall, minus one star for lack of consistency in the sweetness of their drinks. so I happened upon this milk tea shop while wandering around Oakridge Mall. I was thirsty n didn't feel like getting a latte from Starbucks in the food court. they have a Yelp buy one get one free discount so I might as well try it. well, now I know not to buy any from there anymore. the service was good. I got my teas fast. I ordered a regular milk tea with red bean n got a regular milk tea without pearls for free. both tasted very bland. just very watery. there was definitely more tea than milk. (I like a 50/50 ratio or something close to that.) plus the amount of red beans wasn't that much. usually at other tea shops, the amount of toppings they give is a little more than 1/3 a cup. so definitely not going back for more of their milk teas. the only saving grace for this tea shop r the interesting Asian snacks u can find here. (c pics.) I didn't even know they have Sriracha flavored kettle chips! that was mind-blowing. I bought some red bean mochi. they weren't freshly made but still good. So then the girl in the back made another one but i seen throw the glass clearly paying attention to the girl drinking from the same cup that was given to my daughter before she sealed it with the plastic and gave it to her. Ok, this place is unique. The reason is they have RED GUAVA bubble tea, as well as all the fruit flavors you could get in California, believe me ;) . I really loved red guava tea so much. Stopped by for a drink in the middle of doing damages to our credit cards over this past weekend. We were just going to grab a jasmine milk tea to share but realized that you get a free signature drink with a purchase of a tutti frutti or frapp when you check in on yelp. So, we ordered a passion guava with peach bits tutti frutti and got a free jasmine milk tea. win win! I asked for super strong tea in my jasmine mt, but ended up getting milk with a dap of tea. Surprisingly the tutti frutti tasted better but it was a little too sweet for my taste bud. Next time, I'll ask for less sweeten. Overall, I wouldn't recommend coming here for a Jasmine MT, or any of the MT unless you can redeem the check-in for a free MT drink then why not? read more

After walking around the mall, I wanted to get a refreshing tea so I decided to check out Shake Tea. The menu is pretty diverse, and even lets you build your own tea (green or black) and finish off with flavored syrups + toppings. I ordered the Guava with peach bits drink, which was essentially supposed to be a tea slushee. The drink itself wasn't too sweet, and I particularly liked the peach chunks as the toppings. My big complaint was that the "slushee" was a bit hard to drink due to the hardness of the ice chunks. I had to chew on tons and tons of hard pieces of ice, and it didn't feel like a real slushee with soft textures. It may have been the drink I ordered, but the guava tasted a bit too artificial. The service was very friendly, and they even have a small section of snacks if you're craving Asian candies and crackers. I'll probably try the build your own tea option next time around. read more

I got the black oolong for my husband and I got the black tea crema and it's not that bad I actually like it, I will come back when I'm around this area visiting my friend. Not sure what to order so I asked the gal to recommend. She said her Creama series are popular and suggested me to either get the black or green tea. I went with the green tea Creama and 50% sugar. Shake tea is almost like a Tpumps, mixing multiple flavors and customizing your drink and what not. Which is fun, don't get me wrong, but the drinks taste, literally like water. I had a rose strawberry milk tea and it straight up tasted like rose water. There was no essence of milk or creaminess, or a tea taste. I wish I could give more stars but it really wasn't my cup of tea. I hope they fix that soon. But then again who knows! I've only been here once, maybe I should've gone with the regular milk teas. With so many milk tea places in San Jose to choose from, this place for me fell slightly under or about the same to tapioca express, which is what I usually compare boba places to just because it's the most popular, average standard place people usually are familiar with. However, definitely the best within Oakridge Mall! Located near potato corner and Sears, this place not only serves milk tea, smoothies, some coffee drinks, and creama drinks, they also have an arrangement of Asian chips and snacks, from the well known Hello Panda's to Asian snacks that are so Asian that their names are in symbols I can't read. Props to bringing these snacks to the mall! The service was friendly and rather quick. I ordered the mango matcha creama with honey boba and mango pudding. I think it's cool that with whatever drink you choose, you get to choose up to 3 toppings that come with it, other places normally charge you extra for more toppings. The creama here isn't salty like gong cha, but it's more comparable to like whipped cream. The drink was pretty interesting because it tasted like matcha while sipping it then would have an after taste of mango. First time here (they just opened a week ago) and I highly recommend this tea, coffee, and Asian foods shop. I asked for an iced Americano with hazelnut syrup. Although it's not on the menu yet, they were happy to make it for me! The manager or owner (I'm guessing) let me know she made it with two espresso shots and 3 pumps hazelnut syrup, and asked for my feedback. She kindly offered to remake it as a single at her suggestion, which is perfect for me! The price was very reasonable and the drink is very good. They should be called sinkers, or just add-one. Anyhoo, for create your own tea, you can choose up to 3 flavors. This spot is located inside Oakridge Mall on the side Sears used to be. They usually have 2 drinks out on the counter for sampling, and honestly I always try it when I pass by, but this was my first time actually buying something. I went with a green tea base plus guava and lychee because that was a free sample I had enjoyed in the past. (On my recent visit they were sampling passion guava green tea, and Ethiopian iced coffee, both of which were tasty as well.) So I like tea that tastes like juice. This tea combo tasted like juice, therefore I really enjoyed it. Lychee and guava is my favorite shave ice combo, so of course I would like it as tea. I added lychee jelly to my drink, which complimented it well. I just need to figure out how to drink it so that I'm not stuck with a bunch of leftover jelly at the end. read more

We were walking around the Oakridge mall when we both decided to get some boba. Shake Tea was right in the mall so we decided to stop there. At first, we only wanted to share one boba drink, which was the classic milk tea with honey boba, but upon checking in, we received a promotional offer where we got another milk tea for free! We had to customize this one though, so we decided on a peppermint green milk tea with honey boba. The cashier was a really nice girl who allowed us to use our promotion even AFTER we had paid and ordered already, so that was really nice. As for the drinks, we really liked it. The milk tea had a slight roasted flavor to it and the boba had the chewy, sweet texture we were expecting. I was pleasantly surprised by the peppermint and how much I enjoyed it. You taste more of the tea though with just a hint of mint. While Shake Tea is great, we can't say it was one of the best we've had. Another con, was that they didn't have egg pudding as one of their toppings so my hubby was a little bummed about that one. I got a pomegranate blueberry black tea, which was apparently supposed to be sour, but it was way too sweet for me. The boba wasn't bad, though, so I'll give them that.
