I'm not a huge boba/milk tea fan so I guess take this as a review from someone with pretty superficial knowledge. I tried two drinks, a Vietnamese iced coffee made less sweet and a 3/4 sweet peach... peach something. I forget the name, but the menu is small it's the peach one. Both were fantastic. Definitely on the sweet side but not "this is melted ice cream" sweet like I've had at some places. I'd still probably get the peach one 50% next time. The Vietnamese iced coffee was very intensely flavored, had a great texture, and for whatever reason wasn't as hyper-caffeinated as some I'd had. I've had some Vietnamese coffees that made me feel like I was going to bounce off the walls, this was more mellow. But it still has the strong coffee flavor I'm used to. The peach drink was super refreshing, full of peach flavor, but again the level of sugar wasn't cloying at all. And the little chunks of peach added a nice texture to the experience. Again, not an expert on milk tea/boba, but this was probably some of the best I've had, definitely the best I can remember. Inside the shop is a bit spartan but there's seating for a few groups. You order via a kiosk and then someone brings the drinks out to the counter, so it's a bit impersonal. They take credit cards and the parking lot is a little tight. read more

We ordered: - Brûlée Green Milk Tea: 4/5 - Be sure to mix it well, as the brûlée layer sticks thickly to the sides of the cup. Also no one answers the call as i did call multiple times before heading back to the store. Mistakes can happen in any busy store, and I would have completely understood if the issue had been handled professionally. What was upsetting was the dismissive attitude and lack of customer service. As a paying customer, I expected a simple acknowledgment of the error and a reasonable effort to correct it. Instead, I felt ignored and treated as if I was inconveniencing the staff for bringing up a problem with my order. I hope management addresses both order accuracy and the way customers are treated when issues arise. A little courtesy and accountability would have made a huge difference. read more

I had a craving for a sweet drink, and this was the only place nearby so I stopped in. It was in a small, not busy plaza across from Target. There were no one inside. You order from the kiosk on the counter which I liked. I waited for about 5 minutes and someone came out with my drink. The shop felt kinda depressing because no one was there and it was super quiet. I ordered the matcha, half sweet, with house milk. It came with boba. The matcha drink was ok, but the boba was really good. It was the right amount of chewiness and sweetness. I decided to get the Pinky Milky before taking some time to do some work at the location. The internet was working fine from what I could recall, and the drink itself was okay though a little sweet. Overall, everything was fine. It's not something too special, though I do remember the drink coming in one of those fairly tall and relatively sturdy cups (the ones that aren't super flimsy). I walked into the shop at about 2 PM and there's nobody in front. However, there are two tablets where you can place your order. I ordered a Osmanthus Oolong Tea with House Milk. It was a hot day and this drink went down well. In fact, it didn't last very long because I drank it quickly! The shop is super clean. I walked down to the back to find the bathroom and there was a sign saying to "see employee for code". So I'm thinking that there's nobody up there and no bell so I'm going to have to somehow grab somebody's attention. Luckily, the door wasn't locked so I was able to use the very clean facility. I lady came out from the back and called my name and she handed me my drink. She was courteous and had a smile. She then turned around and headed back as there was likely another order to be made. I ordered mine 25% sweet with regular ice and that sweetness level was perfect for me - not too sweet! My sister ordered the choco slush which she thought was good but just a little too rich and decadent for her. It's really more of a dessert than a drink. Also make sure you mix it a little bit before drinking because I tried a sip of hers and got straight chocolate syrup (unless that's what you want haha). Their menu has so many yummy sounding drinks. I decided to go with the white peach milk tea. I ordered it half sweet and less ice cream with caramel boba. While it was very good, I did not taste any peach flavor. My son said he tasted it a little bit. I'm not sure if maybe they use a peach syrup and used less because I ordered it half sweet or if it's just a very mild taste in the brewed tea. The boba was perfectly cooked. My friend and I were looking for a new milk tea shop to try out and picked this one as it was close to her house and looked promising. Inside is on the smaller side - there are some bar stools near the front of the shop and a few tables/chairs in the lobby area. It has a nice, relaxing atmosphere and I could imagine hanging out with some friends/family or date on a nice day out. Ordering is done at the kiosk with staff preparing drinks behind the curtains inside the kitchen area. They offer a good variety of drinks - teas/milk teas, matcha series, coffee/espresso and some specialty drinks. M Teashop also offers milk substitution, toppings/foam and customization of sugar/ice. After looking through the menu - we both decided to try the same thing - the brown sugar milk tea. I ordered mine with boba, while my friend did not. After waiting a few minutes, the staff (owner?) came out and informed us that the boba would take another 10-15 minutes and asked if I wanted to wait or get some other topping instead. I opted for the lychee jelly and our drinks came out a few minutes later. It was delicious! I enjoyed the flavor and lychee jelly is always a nice addition. Since it was a nice day out and the shop was quiet, we sat there and had a nice time catching up for a bit. The staff came back out and since she noticed we were still there - asked if I wanted my boba now. I laughed, thanked her and said I'll have to try it next time since I already had the lychee jelly. I thought that was very nice of her! A few weeks later, I went back and ordered the brown milk tea again - this time with the boba. Happy a new boba shop opened up in the area! The ordering system is done all via kiosk/iPads and the menu is well rounded and less complicated than other shops. We got the choco slush (yum!) and the Thai tea tornado (was able to adjust sweetness which is not always the case with Thai tea). Both were really good but quite pricey (around $7 without any toppings). The inside seating area is more spacious than you would think and parking is easy with a shared lot. The only qualm I have about this place which knocked off a star is that they took quite a while to have our drinks ready - I'm used to many other boba shops, working a lot quicker. A new locally owned and operated boba shop in SJ! The interior is very aesthetic and the name is a play-on-words of the Vietnamese word "Em" or "big sister". A cute homage. Here's some drinks that I have tried: + ChaTraMue Thai Tea (5/5): I loooove the brand "ChaTraMue" and the fact that they use it here is awesome! Rich and custard-like Thai Tea. Surprisingly my favorite drink here. I normally never order Thai Tea from boba shops, but I think I might come back here to have it again. + Avocado Slush (4/5): Very creamy and clearly made with a fresh avocado! It's refreshing and has a pleasant sweetness. However, the lychee jelly overpowers this drink for me. Replace it with boba for less sweetness! + Pinky Milky (3/5): Strawberry milk made with fresh berry puree and pink cheese foam. A simple drink made with quality ingredients. Maybe a 3.5? We got the brown sugar boba matcha latte and green milk tea with egg pudding. The matcha was a bit strong for my liking, but my boyfriend liked it. The green milk tea sounded interesting as it was supposed to have a hint of matcha, but it kinda tasted like a bland jasmine milk tea. The egg pudding was really good tho! I wanted to try some other drinks, but the menu was really limited. A lot of drinks on their physical menu wasn't available, even though it wasn't listed as seasonal. I do agree with another review that the location does seem a bit sketchy. I came on Saturday around 6:30pm and it was dark and empty outside, with a few cars.
