it was my first time here and first impression is kinda iffy. (i'd like to point out the fact that it was my fault that i didn't check the time for closing and/or mixed up the times from a different location i was looking at) friends and i came in after an event, couple customers were already inside sitting around and no staff to be seen. 2/3 had already made orders and suddenly an employee pops out to tell everyone that they closed 2 minutes ago. customers were apologetic since no one was aware. my friends and i also apologized and pointed out that we had already made our orders. it was already noticeable that the worker was irritated, but he waved the order tickets and said that they'll still make our drinks then walked to the back. after our orders were finished, we apologized again and headed towards the door. As delicious as the drinks were it was HIGHLY unprofessional to hear staff yelling from the back "did they go yet!?" "are they gone yet?!" "they're still not gone!!" "they're still here!?" as we were walking out. my friends and i had a laugh about it, but we had just gotten our drinks and you could've waited a little bit longer before shouting if we left. (i also work in customer service so i understand it's a bit aggravating when customers decide to come in last minute and when you're just wanting to close up and end the day. AGAIN it was technically my fault for not looking at business hours thoroughly. but it would've been nice to have a staff member (since there was 3 of them) at the front to tell incoming customers that they were getting ready to close up for the night and any remaining customers beforehand were their last transactions for the night.) read more

I like this Ume location and felt like the experience was better than the one on Camden. They do play music, but it's not the loud blast of music at that location. You order from a kiosk here as well, and my drink came out pretty quickly. They have quite a few tables for both sitting and standing, so you could hang out here. I liked my beverage, though it had passionfruit seeds in it, which was kind of an unusual experience. They are a little crunchy! I don't know if people eat them by themselves. read more

Came here and ordered the mango coconut drink, which was fairly expensive but tasted alright. The only thing I didn't like about it was that there was a huge chunk of coconut at the bottom. The store was nearly empty, while I was sitting waiting for my order, there were some "order ahead" orders coming in but most of them were drinks. The party that ordered ahead of me got their popcorn chicken wayyyy long before I finally got my popcorn chicken and other things. I LOVE UME TEA. I know there's one in SoCal, but it's really out of the way for me, so whenever I'm in NorCal, it's a MUST stop for me. Super cute and I love that the menu has a wide variety of fruit teas and milk teas, as well as SNACKS. Not many boba places do that any more (especially for the franchises in SoCal), so huge W for me. You can order ahead of time to pick up or you can order from their kiosk screen. They'll text you when the order is done. Definitely worth signing up for their points rewards systems especially since there are so many Ume Teas in NorCal and I believe they carry over to each one. I got their Crème Brûlée Thai Tea since it's a nice sweet dessert drink and I wanted something along the sort after having a very savory dinner. Also wanted our friend to try a bit since he has never really had milk tea before and doesn't like tea in general. He did enjoy this drink and said it was like a cake in a cup. So true! It's a simple Thai tea that's sweetened by the creme brulee cream smeared on the sides of the cup inside. Just mix it up well and it's a yummy dessert drink. My boyfriend got a 0% sweet milk tea and enjoyed it. I also got a fragrance ornament (you drop the scent oil on top and you can get it in 2 scents, I got the pear one) and a cute bunny plushie clip/drink holder and surprisingly it was only $4. I've seen boba places charge more for their merch. Really love how Ume has a lot of merch that's unique and affordable, ranging from stickers, plushies, tumblers, collab items, and much more. Ume Tea at this Almaden location is not a good place to get your expensive $7-$10 drink and $15 food. Here's why: they serve food but they do NOT have a restroom where customers can wash their hands!!! That's unsanitary conditions at its finest. Also, the kids that work here needs to learn their manners and not talk about their customers when you can hear them in the main area. The third reason, the manager on duty couldn't recollect how to make a certain drink when they have the ingredients on other items they sell on the menu. They have been making it for me every week! Order #41264 on 3/4/2026 My drink order was a rice mochi black milk tea with oats popping boba and a tanghulu yogurt slushie. My snack order was the plum popcorn chicken. The problem is that they messed up both our drinks but we didn't find out till we came home. The rice mochi black milk tea itself is correct but instead of oats popping boba, I got mango popping boba. I'm allergic to mango and cannot drink it. The tanghulu slushie does not usually have oats popping boba but it was included. The drink did include the haw flake type topping and the plum pieces that's supposed to come with the drink but didn't have the paste. The drink is noticeably white rather than the pink it's supposed to be. They also gave us a round cup rather than the rectangular but that may just be an inventory issue. I also don't know if their chicken supplier also changed their chicken source but it was extremely gristley and stringy compared to usual. Perhaps it was an off day or new employees but really, a bad experience. Could this be a sign of quality decline? Either way, it's really frustrating that I paid money for this. read more

It's really cute that they have a bunny for their store logo. You place your order at the kiosk. I love fruit tea, so I checked to see what they offered for that. I chose the passion fruit & watermelon green tea with 30% sweetness and less ice. It took about 5 minutes for my order to be ready. They get a lot of online orders. So there wasn't anyone else inside at the time I was there, but they were busy in the back getting orders ready. My tea was very delicious and refreshing. They use fresh fruit to make their teas. I immediately tasted the watermelon right away. There were even little pieces of fresh watermelon inside. I didn't taste the passion fruit. I like that this location is rarely busy when I stop by, so I can grab my drink pretty quickly. I usually order the taro milk with mochi or the taro milk tea with mochi, depending on whether I want caffeine or not. I wanted my popcorn chicken extra spicy, so the crew gave me a container of spicy powder to take home. The popcorn chicken was good - crispy, warm and tender on the inside. I put a lot of powder on it, but I think it needed some salt to bring out the flavor more. The fries were decent - it needed salt as well, but was cooked nicely. The brown sugar mochi drink was good - I went for the bunny surprise cup and got a whale, lol. Overall, I liked the mochi in the drink and thought it was a good amount of sweetness at 50%. I'm going to preference this review by saying I used to work at a boba shop for my first job in high school (aka young, no experience in customer service) so I know what it means to do your job. I placed an food order for this place online and came back in 20 minutes later to check if it was ready. The workers just mentioned that their fryer is down and they'll have to refund me. If that's the case then the item should not be available for online orders anymore OR at the bare minimum once you saw the order come in you should have texted/called me to tell me that. Not let me wait 20 minutes with the receipt in front of you not doing anything about it other than laugh it off and say we can do a refund that will take 3-5 business days. Workers should have been proactive and updated their system for correct inventory and have been proactive about contacting their customers and not letting us wait to check in with them. read more

Finally got the chance to try Ume Tea and I was not disappointed! When they dropped their new Jasmine Blossom Latte, I KNEW I had to check it out. I absolutely love Jasmine tea, the more floral, the better! Their Jasmine Blossom Latte is green tea based with jasmine floral notes. It had the perfect amount of creaminess and floral undertones. I ordered mine at 75% sweetness, although next time I could definitely enjoy it at 100% sweetness. I also tried their Longan Slushy which was perfectly sweet with lots of longan flavor. There were also jellies that tasted like longan. However, it wasn't so much a slushy as the ice pieces were bigger than expected! I wish the texture was better but the flavor was definitely on point. I had tried Ume Tea before at another location and remember it just being okay, but saw this one after stopping by in the plaza and wanted to give it another try. This is my 3rd time at an Ume tea but the first one at this location. I happened to see it across the parking lot when donating some stuff at savers. The first thing I noticed when walking in was the cute decor. It's very pink and had cute bunny accents everywhere. The space was clean and very inviting. This is the only Ume tea that I've been to where there was someone taking orders and not just from the tablet. I ordered a Thai crème brûlée milk tea with crystal boba and Ume whipped cream. I love that the whipped cream is pink! It added a little something extra to my drink. I like that more of these Ume shops are popping up and look forward to coming again. read more

Love the tea here and the cute surprise cups. Not only are they fun for kids, but they're honestly fun for adults too...feeding my inner child, the boba monster lol. The boba here has been perfectly chewy every time and not too hard or undercooked, which is my biggest pet peeve next to when they skimp on the boba. I get my tea 0% sugar which is not recommended here, but I like being able to taste my tea rather than drinking sugar water. Since their boba is sweetened, it's perfect for me. I have tried both the Ume boba milk tea and the brown sugar boba premium oolong milk tea and both are delicious! My only complaint is that the menu is difficult to navigate and locate beverages. Not only this, but anytime we find a beverage we do like other than the normal milk tea, it gets discontinued or sold out and then we have to struggle for 10 minutes trying to search for something else to try please bring back the white peach oolong fresh milk tea!!!! We recently got the peach yogurt slushie to try because the white peach oolong was gone and while the flavor was really good, my kids did not like the chunks of whole peach in the drink. We were expecting it to be fully blended. It was just really unexpected. I would not recommend getting a single drink here 100% sweet because we have always gotten the drinks no more than the recommended 30% or whatever (definitely less than 50%) and they are already plenty sweet to me. Definitely adjust the sugar level on your drink unless you want straight up sugar. read more
