I attended the grand opening for Shake'Hen Buns and was definitely surprised. The location is on a busy intersection so I recommend coming in from the east or south to avoid the headache. This location used to be two separate restaurants but is now combined into one, offering new remodeled facilities and a hybrid menu combined from the OG menu. We tried the smash burger and the fried chicken sandwich combos, the fries were amazing when fresh and I believe the bun could be better but overall had all the ingredients to a good smash burger; warning, it is mustard fried patty. The real star was the fried chicken sandwich, the fry on it was thin but crispy with flavor. To pair, we enjoyed the Chamoy lemonade and Shaken Monkey shake which will be very welcomed this upcoming summer. It's hard to match up the popular fast food giants, but I see this place filling in a much needed space. For when you're craving something specific, but don't want to wait in line. In addition, if you have an indecisive family, there is a large array of choices for them to pick. We got the chicken sandwiches which were absolutely delicious and so fresh and crispy tasting. The loaded fries were to die for and the coleslaw and pickles were a perfect topper! I ordered the Fuego Chicken Sandwich (the chorizo + heat level combo caught my eye) along with a Cookies & Cream shake...which Mario mentioned is made with homemade ice cream. My son ordered the Smash Burger, a strawberry lemonade slushy, and we also took his recommendation on the corn side. We ordered to-go, but while we waited, the place was very clean, well-stocked, and a vibe outside. When we got home... wow. Everything was honestly a 10/10. The chorizo on the chicken sandwich was such a great twist, the corn bites were crispy and packed with flavor, and my son loved his burger. Came here on a random day because it's close to where I work and the Yelp rating had me wondering how good there burgers actually are. I was not disappointed at all. The Cluck n' Smash was awesome. Fried chicken patty AND a smash burger all in one. This is not for the faint of heart and will have you in a legit food coma (a good one, of course). Never would I have though this would work but my goodness it has been one of the better smashburger eats and experience I've had in quite some time. Compared to other spots (COUGH- Dave's- COUGH) the value is excellent. You get three tenders, slaw and fries. The seasoning is a Mexican blend, think chipotle and cilantro and a slight bit of oregano. It goes great with their creamy sauce that is reminiscent of an esquite blend. With a bit of honey, the whole thing comes together for an excellent premium hot chicken bite! The smash burger was great as well, with a fresh take on that sandwich also on offer. And then the chicken sandwich was just right. Not outstanding, but satisfying. The true surprise were the absolutely wonderful fries! We ordered a Cluck N Smash which is basically the best of both worlds when you can't decide between the smash burger and chicken sandwich. The Fries are cut in house fresh! Onion rings were bomb to as well as the corn that is seasoned perfectly and topped with some bomb cotija cheese!. Today I tried the Double Smash Burger, Watermelon Lemonade with Tajin and Chamoy and a scoop of Horchata Ice Cream with CT Crunch and condensed milk. The smash burger was absolutely delicious, nice crispy edges, soft bun, super juicy and tons of flavor. I highly recommend the lemonade, it's a frozen lemonade and pairs perfectly with the burger. Well I came here bc I love burgers and also bc they had 4.9 stars. I ordered their regular Smashburger the first item on their menu. I was super upset and disappointed! I understand it's called a smash burger but are the buns supposed to be smashed flat too? When I took a bite I thought the flavor was good but the actual patties were soooo thin , you could almost see through them. I looked at the menu flyer bc I thought it was supposed to have two patties and grilled onions. Well I finally found the second super thin patty and I guess the few tiny little squares were onions ! The little onion pieces seemed to be mixed into the sauce that they put on the burger, I really couldn't taste any onion. For the size of the patties and buns there was too much sauce , I would recommend asking for it on the side only. This burger was small , flat and had no real substance. The fries were like In-N-Out but worse. I guess they are baked but they were very limp and greasy. Maybe their other items are better earning them 4.9 stars but the burger was terrible.
