Have driven by this place for YEARS. Always been on my list to try and had a free moment recently and decided to stop by. Definitely an uncut gem in the area. Not too many spots with this ambiance and vibe in SoCal anymore. The staff were extremely friendly and the food was great. Pancakes were a little greasy and the hash browns I got that day were a little too crispy, but I felt the pricing was fair, the quality reflected that, and the food was tasty. There is extremely limited space inside and they close quite early but it's such a unique diner experience. Definitely time traveling when you take a step inside. Looking forward to returning and trying more items, the biscuits and gravy looked great.

CASH ONLY! The place is small with only two tables of 4 seats each, bar stools, and outside patio furniture to accommodate more seating. The service was pleasant and since we came on a Monday morning, it was not busy. Tried the eggs Benedict and the French toast. The hollandaise sauce has to be one of the best I've tried. The food arrived fast and the service was attentive. Reason why it's a 4 star is because of the restroom. I understand that the vibe is an old dinners experience but restroom could be updated.

This morning was the first time I visited this restaurant. I took one of my referring sources to have breakfast. It's a small and very nostalgic restaurant. The ambience showcase a diner that you would see in the 1950s and 60s. The pictures on the wall showcase Indy cars and other nostalgic racing automobiles. We ordered our our breakfast and coffee from a very friendly server. Our breakfast entrées were served promptly. I ordered French toast with two eggs and ham, and when it was served, it reminded me of when my mom used to make French toast. They do not smother it with powdered sugar, although our server asked me if I would like a little powdered sugar sprinkled, and the eggs that I asked to be over easy were perfectly cooked, the ham was a bit dry, but overall the breakfast was delicious. My guest ordered the eggs Benedict. And raved about the hollandaise sauce and the potatoes were not your typical hashbrowns. They were actually red potatoes that were sliced thinly and cooked to perfection, lightly fried and golden brown. If you're looking for just a restaurant that only serves breakfast, then this is your place.

My favorite breakfast joint with the sweetest ladies ready to take your order! The food is consistently great no matter who is at the grill. Thank you ladies.

    See them crispy edges? Lol...Motivation.

Only my third time here. Each time has been a delight. The food? Tasty. Giving a home made look as well as taste. Karen served me today and she was theeee perfect host, PERIOD! Made me feel welcomed and taken care of. The 'ole school diner bar and stools puts you in close proximity to everything which ai loved because it put everything ai needed to enjoy my meal within close reach. Other patrons are friendly and it is real easy to strike up a conversation. Ai usually go somewhere more commercial for my pancake cravings but looked Uncle Bud's up on Yelp last night (yes last night. These pancakes were on my mind) and searched the photos to see what their pancakes looked like. And when ai saw the crispy edges? Bingo! Gotta say that ai cheated on my other pancakes spot and may never go back. After having these cakes it would literally make very little sense to. Either case. Great experience. Ai just had pancakes and coffee which is my little personal crave a couple times a month. Ai like the fact they're open pretty early as well. And due to the quality and hospitality. Guess Uncle Bud's got another nephew to make room for at the counter. Gratitude and give thanks for the perfect cravings quencher today. See you soon!

They have good customer service. But they forgot to give me my gravy. It's the only reason that I went there and they forgot my gravy. That's why I'm giving them two stars.

6/19/23 okay Uncle Bud... I am going to have me some pancakes today!

6/19/23 okay Uncle Bud... I am going to have me some pancakes today! There's one stool availability inside when I walked in and the lady said it'll be 45 minutes for take out.... later she says she'll have the cook make my one order of hot cake NOW--SCORE!! And just like that, in less than five minutes, my cake is ready, and I am out of here. Woo hoo! Thank you SHELBY!!!

As you can see at the pork chops special, it was delicious, the service was amazing they were on it. I got my food within 10 minutes. Definitely coming back if I was you, I'll give this place a try definitely great people

What a pleasant surprise! Very friendly breakfast spot when we walked in. They are very very small but quite comfortable and homie. The food is cooked to order and was delicious, excellent seasoning. I loved this place and we will be returning.

My review may not be useful because it's really not so much on the food but the experience itself The place is tiny with two tables inside and about 10 barstools and 3 outdoor tables, homey atmosphere with extremely busy people! One cook doing it all.. pretty impressive I must say.. phone orders seemed to be plentiful and our waitress was like a hummingbird all over the place meeting everybody's needs.. she was friendly and welcoming all while being extremely busy Everything came out hot and fresh after about 30 minutes which was expected and we were told it would be a while.. I had 2 cups of coffee and was pretty full by the time the food came. I ordered biscuits and gravy and pancakes.. I only took a few bites of each ..I was feeling extremely uncomfortable with the person sitting to my left as our thighs were rubbing together.. place is a little bit too cozy for me.. also the pancakes were a bit disappointing.. not light and fluffy but a weird texture. There was plenty of street parking The patrons seemed to be regulars was the impression I had. I think the breakfast potatoes was the best thing as they were delicious! ( hubby got the traditional breakfast) Bacon was cooked nicely too! I don't think I'll be back myself because I felt a bit claustrophobic and anxious.. but I can clearly see why people love this place.. you should try for yourself!

Pancake with hot butter already on it! Very good.

Had been wanting to try this place for years. Alas... **CASH ONLY** - no atm inside. If you like small, old-town hole in the wall, mom & pop stops, this is for you. Bar seating takes up the majority of the space then there are a few other small tables. There were some tables outside that can probably be used during an overflow, or if you get yours to go and eat outside. Food: Simple and good. I got a hot buttered biscuit and was shocked that it really was hot with butter melted inside. So good! Also, the pancakes had hot melted butter on top as well. Very tasty. We got the corned beef hash omelette because it had beef and the only other sausage options were pork. It was very good. Parking: fee street parking on a busy street but not too bad. Prices: moderate for what you get. We shared a breakfast and ordered and extra biscuit / potatoes and it was fine. We were low on cash!

Just a couple of weeks ago, my friends and I were considering our options for where to have brunch to celebrate one of our friend's retirement. Toast was one of the names I dropped in the metaphorical hat, and it won the vote of a few. My friends were surprised that I had named a spot I hadn't yet tried since I'm usually the "foodie" of the group. However, another girl in the group who had been here before vouched for it. I'm glad I finally got to try this place this past weekend, and I cannot wait to return! There were so many things on their menu that I wanted to try. A couple of the ladies ordered green chilaquiles, the friend we were celebrating ordered the Spanish Omelet, another woman I'd met that day had the bacon and eggs, another one ordered the Biscuits and grave with a side of bacon that looked perfectly crispy. I wish I had taken pictures of the plates as it all looked so lovely! I didn't even take a picture of my own food haha. I had my eyes on an omelet, one of the Benedicts or the Chicken n Waffle. In the end, the chicken and waffle won. It comes served with a little container of maple syrup with bacon pieces. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The waffle was delicious, though I did request for some extra syrup on the side. To drink, a few ladies ordered mimosas, one ordered an iced caramel coffee, and I ordered the Carajillo. I fell in love with this drink last summer in Mexico and do not often see it on the menu. I love the subtle citrus notes the Licor 43 adds to this espresso drink. It is very similar to an espresso martini, and theirs comes topped with a toasted marshmallow. I honestly wanted to try almost every item in their Tipsy Barista section of their drinks. I'll just have to come back that many more times :) Plenty of parking in the mall lot. It does get pretty packed during peak hours. Fortunately I had called ahead to put our group of 6 down. We went in on Saturday around 11:30. It slowed down a bit while we were eating, but started to get busy again after 1. Otherwise, we might have been forced to honor their 90-minute rule. All in all, a great experience from everyone in our group. No complaints on the wait, service or food. That certainly deserves a toast. Great job, Toast!
