The food was good. We were welcomed and waited about 5-7 minutes to be seated by the hostess. I ordered the fried egg sandwich accompanied by a tasty, fluffy, piece of french toast that tasted great with the house whipped cream. 4/5 The classic egg sandwich was really dry--maybe because of the veggie patties? I had to ask for mayo or any kind of sauce, unfortunately could not finish it. 3/5 The kids pancake combo was a total hit. 5/5 Overall service was decent and the atmosphere is fun. Overall super cute ambiance. I love the decor inside and the plating of the food is wonderful. Service was slightly slow but still friendly. However, the food and coffee were slightly disappointing. The churro pancake was much too dense and overly sweet so we weren't able to eat much of it. The coffee was also very disappointing. I got the mojito flight and you can tell that the beans they use are cheap. It lacked fragrance and just tasted like burned pot coffee with cream syrups mixed in which was a big let down considering how nice it was presented. The short rib and sweet potatoes dish was solid but it wasn't mind blowing. It could have been cooked in some kind of sauce or made slightly spicy to give it more of a kick as well. I will say, the French toast with their tres leche cream was very tasty and fluffy! But the other dishes weren't up to par. Overall not a bad experience but also not the best. read more

My first time trying The Nest: A Brunch Joint and I'm so happy to try. They recently opened a new bigger location that is very nice and suitable. The food is great and I love the small plates. I ordered the Breakfast Poutine with some bacon on the side and man oh man !!!! It was off the chain. The potatoes were so flavorful and the gravy!!! Everything was fresh and hot. I tried the maple bacon waffle and omg it was very delicious!!! They have all types of coffee flights, cocktails, and Mimosas. I will try next time when I come back. The service was good and the waitress was attentive the entire time. She suggested the things on the menu too. The ambiance is nice, and they have a nice bar area and very modern inside!!! We absolutely loved this restaurant! We stumbled upon it while browsing Yelp and decided to give it a try because of all the great reviews, and it definitely lived up to the hype. The atmosphere was amazing. I loved all of the artwork throughout the restaurant paying tribute to Filipino culture, and the R&B and soul music created such a fun, laid-back vibe. We started with the horchata iced coffees, and they were incredibly flavorful, and the perfect way to kick off brunch. I ordered the beef short rib hash with mini bacon waffle pieces on the side, and it was hands down my favorite dish. The short ribs were tender, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the rest of the meal. It's definitely something I'd come back for. My daughter and I also shared the churro waffle, which was absolutely delicious and the perfect sweet treat. The food, the service, everything was wonderful. I ate the kind of food that could have nourished me to successfully build a log cabin with my bare hands. I got the bacon waffle with a biscuit and gravy as a small plate and honestly, I would have been fine with just eating one of those, but I'm no quitter so I was in it to win it. To drink, I got the coffee flight, but I would only recommend that if you're able to chug them real fast or else the ice will melt and water the drinks down. They make their coffee with Patria beans which are roasted in Compton. Good stuff! Really great staff and the owner is a sweetheart who understands the joy and pain of working in education. My family and I love the nest. We have been here several times and it always hits the spot. Some of our favorite entrees are the chilaquiles and beef hash. This last time we went we chose a side a French toast with tres leches and it was heavenly! Each bite was fluffy and full of flavor. The service here has always been on point. I wasn't sure what the place was going to look like, but it exceeded my expectations. This is place focuses on breakfast and brunch as they close pretty early, which makes sense. My friend had the Fried Egg Sandwich, and I had the Fried Biscuits & Gravy. The food was pretty good. I love that there was a diverse clientele. We shared a LARGE mimosa, which they put into an XL service glass because they were out of clean L ones. We were impressed by the how they served it!!!! We chose passionfruit and guava. Boy, it was good and vodka really helped smooth the mimosa out. It wasn't too sweet either. Service was awesome as well! We will return again when we are in the BF. read more

I always love supporting businesses that are nestled into their community and culture. Their shrimp and grits are amazing and the portion is perfect! I have been to the other location Nest before it moved to this location. This location is much bigger and they now sell alcohol and have brunch. They have this bacon waffle that is amazing and has whiskey on it. You can get it in a large size or a mini size. I got the meaning because I didn't know how it would taste but it was phenomenal so delicious flavorful and fun to eat. I also have eggs and bacon with it which was also very good. I also got the Horchata I see that was very enlightening and prayers. This location is wonderful. I will definitely be going back again to try more items. Glad I came across that again cause I have not been to it in a while and did not know it had moved great place for family and friends. Service by the waiter was great. She was very attentive, personable, and may get suggestions and she was attentive. Came here on Father's Day (Sunday, June 21st) around 11:15 AM with a party of 2, and from start to finish it was such a great experience! One of the first things I loved was that they have a Yelp waitlist, so I was able to join before even leaving the house. We arrived just on time. Parking was easy too, l found street parking right away, and we were also told there's a nearby parking lot if needed. The host/server who helped us was incredibly sweet and welcoming (I wish I could remember his name!). The atmosphere was adorable, cute and cozy while still feeling lively and energetic. I was especially obsessed with the wall near the kitchen entrance. Such a fun design detail! Since we both desperately needed caffeine, we started with two coffee flights. Every glass was delicious, but the Mint Mojito was my personal favorite. My plus one couldn't stop talking about the Raspberry Mint. For my entrée, I ordered the green chilaquiles with chicken instead of pork, plus a side of potatoes. Let me just say... AMAZING. The eggs were cooked perfectly over easy, exactly as requested. The tortillas were coated beautifully in sauce while still staying crispy, a balance that's hard to nail. And they definitely don't skimp on the protein, which is always a huge bonus for me. The potatoes were incredible too, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. My plus one ordered the breakfast poutine with short rib and a side of grits. I kid you not, I was only about three bites into my meal when he had already cleaned his plate The portion was huge and packed with protein, and judging by how fast it disappeared, I'd say it was a winner! As if we hadn't already ordered enough food, we also got the churro waffle, which came with a mini French toast! *We completely underestimated how much food we were getting. The waffle was absolutely heavenly. I don't know what kind of love they put into that thing, but WOW. The French toast was equally delicious. Took my wife here for a breakfast date. Its been a while since I've been here. I remember the previous location that was much smaller. Happy to see they've expanded in a larger location and updated the menu as well. The mint mojito coffee (non-alcoholic) is one of my favorite things here and still as good as I remember. Got the eggs benedict, and my wife got the vegetarian chilaquiles. She also got the coffee flight, but the others didn't taste like they were described. I'd recommend skipping and just get an order of the mint one. The eggs benny had too much spinach and not enough hollendaise sauce, but the egg was cooked perfectly. The chilaquiles were extra spicy, could be a one off, but a warning would have been nice. Unfortunately service was lacking that day a little. I had asked for less ice in my coffee and it didn't seem like they did that, I also had to call down a waitress multiple times to place our order or get anything like napkins, hot sauce, or even the bill. Food took a long time to come out as well and a warning for the heat on the green salsa in the chilaquiles would have been nice. My wife can handle a good amount of heat, but was only able to eat about half of it before she had to tap out. Needless to say, food is always good here and that coffee is what will bring me back. A couple walked in after me standing in the front for 15 minutes and a waitress named gabby immediately helped them. This being my first time here, this was every upsetting. Servers very Lackadaisical. Gabby was rude. Before running my own business I was a server for many years, and for this reason I definitely wouldn't recommend coming to this spot. Love the new location. Same great options plus more with booze! Hubby got the breakfast burger with yummy bacon jam. It has a little kick and 2 fried eggs. It was amazing! Eggs perfectly cooked per his over hard no yolk preference (not mine). I got the 2 egg combo with bacon extra crispy and grits. Eggs and bacon were cooked to perfection. Grits were delicious, but have a sweetness which my husband loved. Maybe some salt and butter added would have put in my flavor profile but since sharing we kept as is and I will say, they were cooked perfectly. Creamy with some texture so no docking on rating for my personal preference of salty vs sweet, plus not overly sweet so I did enjoy several bites. All of the meals (except kids) come with a side so we got pancake and bacon waffle pieces to share. It was 1 pancake but huge and fluffy. Very familiar hungry jack like taste but way better. The bacon waffle is what I remember of the OG place, it has bacon inside and chopped pieces on top, it is exactly as you expect and want. A must order IMO. The new plus of the bar meant the OG mimosa flight. Orange, peach, hibiscus and blueberry. Loved hibiscus and blueberry options since you don't see that often and they ended up being our favorite. It is $35. They have a bunch of yummy coffee drinks and my husband got the mocha blackberry iced option. It was yummy and unique. Not my jam but he loved it. They have tons of options which is nice. The new vibe is cool. A lot more seating including a patio. Yelp wait list for the win since we live like 5 minutes away so cool to get a head start, otherwise be ready to wait. It has a small pay lot for $4 but you could probably find street parking for free if you want to walk. The paid lot is small so even at 1030 on a Saturday we got 1 of 2 opens spots. This wa my first time finding a brunch spot in Bellflower and it sure did not disappoint. I chose this spot out of convenience as it was on the way to my nest destination. Also close to the 91 freeway. I barely saw the sign and almost passed by, but luckily Google maps was spot on. There is a paid parking lot next to the restaurant, but plenty of free street parking which we took advantage of. Although we went during an "off peak" time we didn't have to wait. The restaurant was packed though and 10 mins after our arrival, there was a wait 20 plus people deep. Luckily, you can add your name to the wait list through the Yelp page. I love businesses that do this. From the moment we walked in service was fantastic! Our waitress was personable, helpful to us as first timers, and checked in during the meal. Once we put in our orders, food came our fast, hot and beautifully presented. They provide generous portions at fair prices. The side dish options were awesome!!! My husband choose a side of eggs to add to his already protien based dish which I've never seen before. My veggie scramble was fantastic. I added bacon since they didn't have ham. The bacon was good, but at an additional $5, I didn't think the price was justified by the amount. Next time I personally wouldn't add the bacon. Choosing a dish that already included it would probably be ok. Unique and something I don't see often is an iced coffee flight. On the fence about trying this as it was $13, I decided to go for it. It came with 3 unique flavors (raspberry mint, mint mojito, and blackberry mocha), all of which I enjoyed. Presentation was on point! For a busy restaurant, service was great! Staff was working hard and attentive and we enjoyed everything we ordered. Definitely keeping this on one my radar. I'd love to explore more of the menu. Silky, warm, and gliding across the plate like Beyoncé in slow motion. The potatoes were crispy perfection golden, seasoned, and honestly doing the most in the best way. My husband went for the Green Chilaquiles AND the French Toast (you know, for research purposes). That French Toast with what tasted like a tres-leches-adjacent heavenly cream was hands down the BEST I have ever had. And I don't say that lightly. I recently visited The Nest to meet with a friend to finish planning her wedding ceremony! It is very popular on weekends so I recommend you join the waitlist on Yelp. There is a lot of seating and an option to sit outside, weather permitting. I had a seasonal coffee offering, the pumpkin spice latte, it was delicious, their whipped cream is incredible. Was looking to have brunch with my gf after church service. We Found this restaurant on yelp and had heard a few stories about it so we decided to give it a try. Yelp showed a wait list so we signed up - I appreciate that because not the case in a lot of restaurants. We were 15 in line and wait was between 40-50 minutes. So we hung out in the car while we waited. We got seated and was helped pretty quickly for drinks. Ordered the iced coffee flight but honestly it was too sweet for me so I returned it and ordered a regular coffee. Unfortunately, our experience at Nest Brunch Joint was pretty disappointing. Right from the start, our waitress seemed impatient and acted like we should already know what we wanted as soon as we sat down. We ordered a pancake combo and a short rib hash. Instead, the first food brought out was eggs, potatoes, and biscuits and gravy that weren't ours. When I pointed it out, she rolled her eyes. After asking twice and getting nothing more than "it's coming," (hands thrown in the air the 2nd time) they finally arrived after we had already finished the meal. When the check came, I saw she had entered an egg combo instead of a pancake combo, which explains the delay, a simple acknowledgment would've explained the delay. To make matters worse, the biscuits and gravy that weren't ours were also on the bill, and had to be removed. The food didn't make up for the service. The short rib hash was dry, the eggs were overcooked, the potatoes were hard, the tres leches French toast was overly sweet and soggy, and the coffee tasted watered down and sour. If you're looking for brunch nearby, I'd recommend Off Street Cafe instead. The wait can be just as long, but the food, coffee, and service are consistently better and actually worth waiting for. read more

My favorite food is chilaquiles. When I go to a brunch place, that's all I order. They do a great job here! After a stressful shift at work today I got here at 12:15pm and asked for chilaquiles. Maggie my server said they just ran out of tortillas for the day. She must've seen the disappointment on my face. She went and talked to the kitchen who said they were able to make me a half order with whatever little scraps they had left! They charged me half price. Conclusion was I had a perfect portion of chilaquiles and my craving was satisfied thanks to Maggie. If chilaquiles is all you want and you're planning to arrive close to closing, you may want to call in and ask if they've run out. PRO TIP: The staff told me that no one ever checks for parking tickets in the lot next to them, so next time don't pay for parking. Would've saved me $4 had I known! read more
