During our convo, I caught him in a lie about it. When I questioned him, he told me I "misunderstood". I explained it was not a "misunderstanding", I was meant to here that. I said how trust was gone and I thought he was a shitty salesman and how he should be ashamed of himself. He became defensive and argumentative. DO NOT got to this place if you expect to be treated decent. The "special" finance guy who can work "miracles" David Jones is a scammer. Of course he can get you into any car! He is a manipulator and literally puts you into the highest mileage car and then laughs as you drive away. I had the car for literally 2 hours when I realized I have no A/C, no heat, the windshield wiper reservoir had a hole in it so the entire gallon of fluid was on my garage floor. Heavy smell of antifreeze...THANK GOD he sold me the $2800 extended warranty right? My husband and I drove to the dealership to express our concerns and he confronts us in the parking lot, cussing us out telling us he is getting pissed off having to deal with it. What did he expect? Take my car in to get it fixed....pick it up, get home and we notice another issue. Finally get told that the timing chain is stretched and about to snap. Thousands of dollars to repair. Message David because he just told me days ago to come back and he would refund me my down payment. Told him I want my money back. He send me a nasty messages, deletes it and then blocks me. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. So I reach out to the General Manage George McGuire. What a peach he was! Starts yelling at me yelling me it's my fault that I am having problems. He sold it to me "AS IS" with an extended warranty. Even went as far as to say "Now you have a broken car. If you're driving home today and it breaks into 10 pieces, now you have a 10 piece broken car". And this guy is the actual owner. Way to stand behind your cars and help people. I should have known. Horrible experience sat and waited 2 plus hours for an oil change and car wash, because as the team stated, David failed to tell them that someone was actually there waiting for the car. So after waiting for an hour and 30 minutes I decided to go ask about how long, found out there was an issue that needed to be fixed before finishing the oil change. I had to get back to work. I wasn't expecting this process to be this long. He made it seem as though it was going to be a quick and easy process. Though I understand they cannot control inconveniences but from the lack of communication, him making sure he mentioned how much he's stuck his head out for me, and not to mention the way he spoke to me was beyond unprofessional and rude! While explaining my frustration he asked if the conversation was done because I wasn't stroking his ego enough. As a woman I feel disrespected. Considering he's been sales person for so long you'd think that he'd have better people skills. And know that when you make a mistake you should be more apologetic in the situation. This dealership is amazing. My vehicle was mis diagnosed and damaged from another dealership at Lupient Chevrolet. So this dealership was recommend to me by a co-worker. I brought my car in and they diagnos my car that the other dealership was incapable of doing. They also accidentally broke one of my spark plugs, and instead of just replacing it and not telling me they called right away and informed me that a tech has accidentally broke a spark plug so they went ahead and replaced all 5 at no cost at all. The staff is very friendly and Informative. The location of this dealership is easy to locate and navigate to and around. They have a lot of used and new cars at very competitive prices. We bought a vehicle from them still under the bumper to bumper warranty and have had electrical issues the whole time and the service department kept ignoring us and then the sales team wouldn't talk to us about it. I wouldn't wish the experience I had buying a car from this place on anyone. I bought a used car from them and the SAME day the check engine light came on, the first two months I spent $4500+ in repairs, the third month I had it I had to take it to the shop again, probably the 8th time, and it needed ANOTHER $5,000-6,000 in repairs. Their customer service is horrendous. The females working here are so rude and nasty. I was even hung up on when trying to tell them about what was happening. I was also told that it was sold as is and even if the motor blew the same day I bought it that it would have been on me, not them. They also told me that since it was an as is vehicle that it wasn't even put through inspection before being sold. This was a nightmare, SERIOUSLY DO NOT EVER BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE. They simply do not care about you one bit. They care about a paycheck and don't care who they have to screw over to get it. I lost so much money because of these people, but thankfully a WAY better dealership was able to help me out to work with me and get me into a much nicer reliable vehicle, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE PEOPLE!!! read more

Buyers Beware... I want to share my experience. We purchased a 2014 Dodge Durango from Shakopee Chevrolet March 1, 2023. The salesman was extremely rude & not friendly at all (even our credit union loan officer said he was rude). We purchased the truck for $14,020 & less than 30 days after purchasing the truck, we started noticing things not working properly. The gas release door wouldn't open to get gas, the turn signal handle broke and is hanging (it's not safe to drive it like that), the air conditioner blows hot air on one side and cool air on the other side (we purchase the truck in the winter time and it had a half tank of gas) so we didn't think to check those things. We reached out to the sale man and he told us, "you bought a used vehicle, AS IS" what do you want me to do about it? None of those things were disclosed to us. I then reached out to service manager. The service manager told me to get an estimate at Apple Dodge in Shakopee. I made the appt and then tried to called Shakopee Chevrolet again before the appt several times & no one returned my calls. I then reached out the the branch manager, who didn't return any of my calls. April 17th was my appt to get an estimate and now no at Shakopee Chev was willing to help when I went back. The owner finally called me back & the owner didn't care about the truck issues or our concerns. He continued to over talk my son & I, then he started yelling. The owner said, "I don't have time for this SHIT". Shakopee Chevrolet gave us the run around, why would the service manager tell us to go get an estimate and now they didn't want to fix it. I understand it's a used vehicle with high miles but none of the truck's issues were disclosed to us when purchased. No one wants to spend $14,020 to then have to repair the basic necessaries (turn signal, gas release door, air conditioning). We thought buying from a repeatable dealership was a good idea but NOT at Shakopee Chevrolet. If you're looking to purchase a vehicle, learn from my mistakes. read more

Went in during this crazy time because my engine light turned on and I needed an oil change. Worked with Kara, who is GREAT, and we got everything handled in 24 hours. They made sure I was set with a car while mine was in the shop. She called as soon as she knew diagnostics, and I ended up leaving a message with what I wanted done. Took our Traverse in to get a leak in our tire fixed. We have been going here for almost 10 years. Set an appointment for 9:30am. The service person said it would be done by noon easily. I dropped off the traverse on the day of the appointment at 7am. Called them at noon since I had not heard anything. They said the Traverse would be done by 3pm because some oil changes came in. Wait a minute, I had an appointment at 9:30am and they pushed me back behind those other customers. My wife called in about this and the service man, Mike was very rude to her and did not care. This is not the first time we have had issues with Shakopee Chevrolet. We will be taking our Traverse elsewhere. Horrible service. read more

Being Female I should have never gone there alone in the first place, but they totally took advantage of me. The initial phone call was promising, but each subsequent interaction with the salesman made me feel increasingly unwanted. With average credit, I knew financing might be a challenge, but this is not related to being declined for financing as I do not know whether I was approved or not. Both the salesman and an individual in credit acceptance told me they would call me back, but no one ever did. I was left hanging. I left a voicemail and sent an email, but did not receive responses. I cannot in good conscience recommend a dealership that would practice such low standards of communication. I look forward to shopping elsewhere. read more

This is the absolute worst place to give your business in RiverSouth. I purchased a 2012 Traverse that was only 4 years old, the engine failed, and the 3rd party warranty that they sold me, but played off as a GMC-certified warranty, denied my claim after the service team sent "high resolution digital photos" that are probably standard photos they send to screw you as your vehicle is disassembled in their stall. I had to pay out-of-pocket for my costly repairs, and then the engine FAILED AGAIN in just FIVE MONTHS! They won't stand by their crappy work, and worse yet, the owner of Shako Chev told me he only cares about "getting the vehicles off his lot - not what happens after, or the people in it." Now, I need another engine rebuild, and Alpha Warranty is denying the claim again due to the "pre-existing issue" that I paid out of pocket to repair - but even their own warranty company must not trust Shakopee Chevrolet's repairs. I'm ashamed to have this "dealership" in MY community. Buyer Beware. Worst workmanship and customer service ever. read more

If I could I would rate no stars! I've doe business with them for many years and was very upset when they put a refurbished motor in my car and when I picked it up, about 15 miles of driving it, I noticed a burning smell & noticed the car started to shift funny. When I got home, I called the dealership and was told to bring it back. And as I was on my way there, the car was stuck in a gear and would not shift and the burning smell got worse. At least I got it there. During there inspection, I was told there was transmission codes stored in the computer. I just spent $4,000 a few months prior to this to have the transmission rebuilt. I had a conference call between George the general manager and Gordy the service manager. They both told me they had nothing to do with the transmission and was not at fault and to have the place that rebuilt it prior. Soooo I had it towed to the transmission doctors to have them look at it and sure enough they told me the transmission had no fluid in it. And in good faith they fixed it and also told me due to this they could've voided the warranty. Soooooo if you think of it this way that I had the transmission rebuilt a few months prior to having Shakopee Chev do the motor and had no issues until I drove 15 miles after leaving the dealership when my car was done with the motor and the transmission burnt up, what would you think? THESE IDIOTS ARE LIARS! On another issue I wanted to finance a car they had and was given the run around. First I was told I was approved and the bank needed some verification from my wife's employment since we were getting it together and we got them what they needed. During this time I noticed on Carsoup and Cars.com they had that car we were trying to finance was $1,000 less and I told my salesman Jack that and he said since I saw that price I get that price in a text with a .And Jack also mentioned it was a 5 day sale that is no longer in effect. So at this time I'm pretty excited. When me and my wife went to go fill out the paper work and take possession of the car the financing guy told us the bank didn't accept the form my wife got from her employer. So then we went and got exactly what they needed and then was told by a message on my phone by the finance guy the bank wants $850 down. So when I called the finance guy back and told him that's fine and we can come up with the down payment, he suddenly tells me the bank wants $2,800 down. Now at this time I very pissed and know they must not want to sell me the car since I saw it for a lower price and there making up excuses. The finance guy suggested I look at a different car. Now at this point I know something ain't right. So I just gave up with them and hung up. A few days later I went to a different dealership by myself and was approved for a brand new car with no money down. Soooo what is the difference with a new car and a year old car with very low miles on it to get it financed---NOT MUCH! Let's just face it. These people can not be trusted and they lie. After all this I realized I remembered George the general manager from a different dealership and got into an argument with him on a lie about a aftermarket spoiler I had installed on a car back in 1993 and the color didn't match the car and took it back to them 3 times and the third time I used a black grease marker and ran it in several different spots under the spoiler and when I went to pick it up, I was told the people that do the aftermarket work came to pick up my car and re-did the work and could not get a good match. Then I told George I wrote the miles down and the car didn't even move a tenth of a mile. Then he told me they must've took the spoiler off and took it with them. Then I pointed out the black grease marks to him and he was very dumb founded. I told him if the spoiler would've been painted, it would not have the grease marks. Soooo I took it somewhere else to have it painted for $200 out of my own pocket and they did a great job. Overall, I will never do business with liars. And I'm very disappointed on how they treated me. read more

Went to Shakopee Chevrolet Saturday to buy a used car, up to $20,000. A salesman was standing outside, I think his name was Dale, chubby, dark hair, with desk by the window. We told him what we were looking for and he started going on and on about an Equinox that had just come in. He took us behind the bldg and showed it to us. He continued to tell us all about it, after 10-15 minutes we asked if we could sit in it. He went in to the get the key, 15 minutes later we went into the showroom and he was frantically going thru a cabinet. We told a different salesman that we would be looking at the cars on the lot. "Dale" immediately followed us outside, carrying 2-3 keys. When we asked to see the car he had been telling us all about, he said he couldn't find the key and proceeded to tell us about other fabulous cars. He was extremely unorganized, bounced from one car to another, and VERY RUDE! After about 1/2 hour I told my husband that I would not do business with him, and thought we should leave, he agreed and said he couldn't take anymore of this guy. I told Dale that we were going to leave and look somewhere else. I began walking towards my car, he followed me, yelling....I thought you wanted to buy a car, so buy a car, and etc. The more he yelled and followed the more angry I became. I went into my car, closed the door and my husband followed me. HE is the reason auto salesmen get such a bad rap.
