Now back living in Wenatchee again, I've been here several times in the last couple months. I'm delighted to see Jimmy and his partner serving all the same breakfast items I enjoyed for years. My most recent breakfast was steak and eggs on August 2, 2024. Look at the pic--what a meal! Jimmy's is a down-home kind of place, a favorite of locals because of its quality breakfasts at better than usual prices. They keep the prices lower by running a cash-only business--no paying extra charges for credit card use. As of this writing, their hours are 6:00AM to 2:00PM daily, but closed on Monday and Tuesday. We went in on two Saturdays ago at noon. One table in restaurant. We waited to be seated. The waitress was chatting with the couple. I finally said excuse me can we sit anywhere? She barked at us saying NO YOU CAN SIT AT TABLE 2 AND POINTED AT IT. I was floored at the rudeness. I was telling my sister how aweful that was when she yelled again. YOU CAN SIT AT TABLE 2! We were flying out of Wenatchee airport and needed a quick bite before heading out. Jimmy's Diner was around and we figured why not? Small cash only diner that locals probably frequent (there were a few there at the time and a few more pick up orders from workers nearby), with cute country style decor. Our server was very nice and attentive. We ordered the breakfast sandwich and the breakfast burrito. My husband loved his sandwich, saying it had a great amount of eggs, cheese and bacon. My burrito was also stacked. The filling had eggs, pepper, onion, ham, bacon and sausage. Both came with hashbrowns on the side. Only thing I would pick at is that the hashbrowns could have been crispier, along with the flour tortilla being cooked a bit more. read more

We have loved this place for a very long time, but the rudeness is quickly outweighing the taste of the food. The waitress is lovely, but the cook is just rude. Very mean, very gruff. Will not allow you to make any kind of substitutions. They only take cash, so if you do not have cash, I'm not sure what you do. Don't go there I guess. But we will not be going back any longer. My sister and I stopped in for breakfast mainly because of the name. Let me tell you. Lovely little place with the absolute nicest and sweetest staff. Wish I'd gotten our server's name but she was so nice and offered us a warm cinnamon bun because they were very busy. We happily accepted and OMG--scrumptious. When I visit home I always have to go to Jimmy's Diner. Sounds crazy, but this place hands down has some of the best hash browns! The eggs are good per usual, bacon (when I ask for it) is extra crispy and oh man those hash browns. Talk about thick cuts of creamy potato, perfectly soft texture in the middle with the right crunch on the outside. My family members have gotten biscuits and gravy here and breakfast burritos. All of it is great. You must try their cinnamon roll too. If you can't have it for breakfast take one to go and they are enormous so be kind and share. I came to enjoy a meal and was told that they are closed at 12:35, when they have hours listed as being open until 1 PM. They gave me some BS excuse about how they close the grill at 12:30 so they can leave at 1 PM. Having worked in retail and knowing that customers can come right up until the last minute and having to still serve them, to me it is absolutely unacceptable to engage in this kind of business practice, and it should be clearly listed that they close at 12:30 instead of 1. I had previously been told that Jimmy's had great food, so I was excited about the opportunity to grab some food. Unfortunately, I had my pet dog, so I had to order take-out. It explicitly states that your establishment does dine-in and takeout. When I called, I was answered by someone very gruffly and asked 'who am I?". I said I'm a customer. For whatever reason I was passed to the Cook who yelled at me and said I needed to talk to a waitress. The waitress gets in and says that "she needed a few minutes". I waited... 20 min. You lost me as a customer. I work in the food industry and I know takeout business is a huge revenue stream now due to COVID. Enjoyed breakfast at Smitty's. The food was terrible. The waitress was rude. Our food was cold. My son got a breakfast burrito, there was hardly any egg in it, the bacon was raw and the tortilla was soggy and the hash browns weren't cooked. My bf got the chicken fried steak with eggs, hash browns and toast, the steak was tough as hell, egg over cooked, toast was burnt and the hash browns were barely cooked. I got eggs Benedict with hash browns, my hash browns weren't hardly cooked, the ham on my Benny was so thin I wasn't even sure there was ham on it, the poached egg was way over cooked, English muffin was burnt. When we called to complain and speak to a manager, the waitress picked up the phone, never talked to us and set the phone down, we waited over 20 minutes to talk to someone before hanging up. I can not count the number of times we have visited this restaurant - so thankful that a local at a bar suggested it to us years ago. This little place is a hidden gem. Service is always good and the food is always good. The breakfast special is amazing.

It was horrible. They don't wait you to the table, just give you menus and kinda just point to where you go. They are not never attentive, they give you your receipt when they give you your food so they don't have to come back. When they put your food down on the table, they just toss it to where it makes a loud noise with every single plate. Their food isn't very good either. The steak is mostly fat and they use oil-based "butter", in addition, you find food on your plate that doesn't even go with what you ordered. For instance I found bacon pieces on my plate and there wasn't suppose to be any bacon on my order. Overall I would not recommend this restaurant, it was poor quality and not very friendly, especially if you ask for additions. read more

By far worst customer service I've ever experienced, can't say I'm entirely surprised though because it seemed to be a one man show, our server was doing the job of 3 people at minimum, she served all the tables as well as bussed and hostessed at the same time. While visiting family in Wenatchee I stopped by Jimmy's Diner as I usually do when I'm in the area. It's one of my favorite places to go for breakfast! The restaurant is out of the way and far off from the main drag on Rock Island Road. The only way people know of this place is through word of mouth. This is the kind of place that tends to bring back regulars, the staff seems to know just about everyone that stops in. They've got standard American breakfast fare for excellent prices. I recommend their biscuits and gravy, but only get a half order unless you haven't eaten in a week. I haven't tried their lunch out yet, maybe on my next trip, however they have sandwiches and burgers on the menu as well as home made pies. This place doesn't do dinner and closes up around 2 or 3 pm. The best time to go is probably during the week, on the weekends you might have to wait a little while for a seat. They do usually have some counter space available if you're down with that. read more

First, let me start off by saying I am a waitress at a special occasion/nicer restaurant, so I may just notice things more than others, and that this was my first visit to Jimmy's as I usually go to the Wild Huckleberry in Wenatchee. The waitress was friendly and we were promptly greeted when we walked in, and pointed to a booth. We walked back to the booth that she directed us to and it was still covered in crumbs and miscellaneous spots. The waitress didn't follow us to the table with menus or silverware and we waited about 3-4 minutes to get a menu from her, by the time she brought us waters and took our order we had been sitting for about 10 minutes or more, but she had a couple of tables walk in at once so we overlooked it. While waiting for our food another table sat down who was never greeted or acknowledged for about ten minutes. They got up and left and waitresses never even noticed. I also witnessed the waitresses arguing over who would take the tables (neither one wanted them). When we finally received our food it was average and the eggs bene was overcooked. We got our check without any total on it so we added it up and added in the tax ourselves, and were never asked if it was split (we were 4 friends). One friend went to pay with a card but they do not take cards so we left cash on the table. Getting into the car the waitress ran out after us asking if we were going to an atm, she apparently hadn't checked the table. Overall I was very underwhelmed and disappointed after being told that Jimmy's was a good place to eat breakfast, it took us over an hour from walk in to leaving, which seemed slow for how busy it was. My daughter and I came here after a weekend of backpacking. We wanted some real food. We drive around Wenatchee looking for a breakfast place but the Huckleberry place seemed too upscale for us and Sassy's looked too empty. We found Jimmys on Yelp. I had the Taco omelette and my daughter got the waffles and fruit. She got the hot chocolate piled high with whipped cream. The service was awesome. I have always had breakfast at Smitty's or Country Inn when visiting Wenatchee...so this morning Grandpa Al said we were going to Jimmy's and my response was "Who's that"? Lol. I looked up the reviews and met the group there. We had the "special". (2 eggs, 2 sausage links and one pancake) It was the perfect amount of food and served pipping hot. The service was great (coffee frequent and hot). Nice atmosphere. On the way out we saw cinnamon rolls that looked delicious. My brother had the Taco Omelet...I am having that next visit...like tomorrow before I hit the road home. read more

This is a local 'dive-in.' Not a dive but a place for locals (and anyone else) to dive in and visit around, drink coffee, eat, mess with the wait staff. Gosh! These folks treat me like I am coming home. One of 'my' ladies sat with my son and I and discussed weddings with us. Quaint and welcome and nice. Had a side of bacon and two poached eggs. We were a party of 5 and it took awhile for the staff to notice us and say "we will be right with you". The place is small and somewhat cozy. The service was good, our waiter was very friendly. The food was ok, nothing really stood out besides the size of the everything omelet. After a pleasant breakfast my husband picked up the check to pay it (treating our 3 guests). And guess what???
