This part of my email to the Owner, besides the (3) phone calls that were never returned, "To whom reads this, I writing to inform you of the catastrophe we had Thursday evening 11/4: we had a reservation for (6) people @ 5:00 We received our water and ordered our drinks about 5:05, and ordered our appetizers at that time also. The waitress was running all over the place as she did not have enough support (she was great and kept apologizing for the delays. It took 50 min. to receive our drinks It was just over 60 min. to receive our appetizers and had to send my Wife's clams back as they were Cold! not even luke--warm. Before finishing our appetizers, we ordered a second round of cocktails. After 1 hour and 20 min. we canceled the drinks and were just about to pay for the appetizers and cocktails received but as we were getting up to leave our diner showed up. 1:23 minutes from reservation time until our food arrived .... unacceptable." I am not one to leave a bad review, I really hate being negative but our experience last night warrants a review for others to see. I called ahead and left a voicemail to make a reservation and the gal was extremely nice and got back to me quickly. When I asked if there were options for dairy free, she assured me they had TONS of options and substitutions- she said just ask your server and they will be able to accommodate.My husband is lactose intolerant and gets extremely sick if he has dairy. I was thrilled they had options as it was our 3rd wedding anniversary and I wanted to go somewhere nice to celebrate. Upon arrival everything seemed great, it smelled great and the atmosphere seemed really nice. Unfortunately we were seated at a horrible table- sitting directly in front of the chef in the kitchen facing the door where people were entering and exiting. We let it go, because it didn't matter. When the waitress came over and greeted us we had already looked over the menu and were ready for an appetizer. My husband opted for the "hot" calamari. When it arrived to our table it looked awful. But what's worse it that it tasted absolutely vile. Imagine eating a raw baby squid drenched in warm cocktail sauce.. and for 27$?? It wasn't spicy, it wasn't cooked and it smelled disgusting. We didn't eat it. But yet we decided to order dinner to give them the benefit of the doubt and try it out. When asking the server for dairy free suggestions she said and I quote "ummm we don't have hardly any- I suppose you could do steak". ARE YOU JOKING? We should have paid for the freaking nasty calamari and left. But yet we didn't. He thought steak sounded good and we were hungry, when he asked what sides it comes with she said starter salad, mashed potato's and green beans. My husband asked if he could do no cheese on the salad and mashed potato's but dairy free. She said no " we make the batch of potato's in the morning for the day". First off, that's disgusting, for being so high class you'd think they would make things fresh for you. Especially when they don't open till 4, so they're just sitting there all day till dinner? Yuck. He said ok so I guess no mashed potato's for me, and she asked how he wanted his steak, he said medium. I ordered the Kobe burger. And she took our orders over to start. She came back a minute later to tell us that unfortunately the glaze for the steak has cream in it. YOURE JOKING. But nope, not joking. She then says "for an additional 5 dollars the chef will make you a dairy free glaze". So we say ok..... (I know you're getting mad for us now, right?) Anyway we wait a couple minutes and our salads come out. Hardly any dressing on then. Lettuce tastes like it wasn't washed and tasted of dirt. So we don't eat those. Then 15 minutes later our food arrives. I'm not kidding when I say there was a small steak with 3 green beans on it... and let me tell you the steak was raw in the middle, like EXTREMELY RARE (moo) and the green beans were leather and were not cooked all the way at all. My burger was fine, not great, nothing special. But we waited for 10 minutes for our server to come back so he could tell her the steak wasn't right. By that time he just said screw it, and started eating the outside of the steak that was cooked. When she finally came back and asked how things were, my husband was so mad he didn't want to make eye contact. So I politely said, well actually no. His steak is extremely rare. Her response was "well I told him medium". I can throw it in the oven if you'd like? Yeah what we want is for you to throw his cold raw steak in the oven. What's better than a raw steak, oh yeah- a dry steak!! So we say no can we have the check please. She says well it's your anniversary so dessert comes free. She gives us 2 options- both are ice cream. So I pick the first one because I like ice cream. It arrived and it's burned pecans with frangelico over vanilla ice cream. Disgusting. Took one bite and said nope. Handed her our card. Paid full price for our meal and $115 later here I am writing this post read more

I had my daughter pick out this restaurant since she is a native to the area. The initial impression walking through the restaurant is one of being badly in need of a remodel. The server,while friendly enough did not know the menus and could not answer many questions. The cost of all the menu items were extremely expensive and way out of line for restaurants in Wenatchee. I could understand if it were an outstanding restaurant with an equally outstanding menu but this was not the case. Expensive food doesn't guarantee quality and this was a great example. I gave it two stars because the food was overpriced and the quality was only mediocre and the variety of both food and beverages was poor. My advice is to go somewhere else that has both better quality and and a better price. read more

This is my first time at Shakti's and I have to say the food was AMAZING! The atmosphere is great! We sat in the bar and it reminds me of a very old world feel in a good way! I visited from out of town last month with my sister, who lives In Wenatchee and had mixed experiences there, but I was attracted to the menu. It was a very hot early evening and we had reservations in the shady garden, which was very lush and cooled with fine misters. While we were waiting to order drinks, the host returned to re-seat us , saying someone else needed that table...no prob, though we couldn't figure out why we were just moved to another 4-top... Drinks were fine, not great...the server was mixing us up continually, but did get us an extra cherry (old ladies)! (We think she was inexperienced and that's why we were moved,so a better server could take the other party....see below) Salads were fine, though service was slow for an early uncrowded hour. We finally got our entrees, my rigatoni Bolognese and her crab fettuccine. Two problems: I was concerned that I had been served the wrong dish, because it was very spicy and the third pasta on the menu was a spicy rigatoni. My sister's pasta was cold and not mixed up, with piles of spinach, crab and pasta, plus she was getting bits of shell. The server was MIA for a long time and when she finally reappeared, I mentioned the spiciness and just wanted to make sure I had the right pasta--she said yes, the chef likes to add lots of chili to his Bolognese. I am an accomplished home cook and have made this from authentic recipes many times--this was new to me! By this time my sister was ready to vent about the bits of shell and the server made a huge deal about the chef's supplier and there couldn't possibly be shell in that crab. ( Sister got pretty testy--does not like to be told what she is experiencing!) server took the dish back for heating and when it finally returned, it was properly mixed and much tastier. The server was quite rude, was shouting at us...Sister was not taking her rude comments lying down...finally the young lady blurted out that she was declining us further service! Is this a thing? At no time we're we rude or lashing out, but we were definitely upset that this had escalated to this point, when all she had to do was apologize for the kitchen and be nice! Place is not cheap, though luckily we had ordered simple meals. Two hours spent trying to get a drink and an entree. No longer on the list. Saved up for a very special birthday for my mom, she turned 88. Took the fam and was very disappointed. Our food took forever and when we received it, it was cold, not just one dish but 5 out of 6 meals were cold. They also substituted our mashed potatoes for some type of noodles with un-melted cheese on top. I understand if you run out of something, but for that price, give your guests a choice of maybe a salad or something. The waiter even had to text my debit card info somewhere, not sure if this was legal. They tried to warm our food back up, didn't work. A small town place trying to act like a big city high end dining experience. If you have lived in Wenatchee or surrounding area for your entire life, I'm sure Shakti's is your idea of fine dining. Problem is, it isn't even close. The wine list is a joke. I understand that wine in restaurants is more expensive then normal purchase price, usually about double, but it's just out of control here. Example you ask? Sure, how about this: Cristalino; a sparkling wine from Spain (aka. Cava) that retails for about $7 a bottle at any local grocery store, is $33 a bottle here. 4.5x the retail price? Incredible! Since they are paying about 15% less then retail cost when they order in the first place, that's almost a 6x price increase! By that math, the bottle of 1990 Dom Perignon Rose I had last night would have been $8,000, instead of the $1,375 I paid for it. Like I said, this place ROBS you when it comes to wine. The food however, was really good. Michelin Star good? No, but I'd imagine better then just about anyone who lives here has had. The Carpaccio of Filet Mignon was a good appetizer and the Gorgonzola shavings were a nice touch. Innovative? Not even close. Tasty? Indeed. Had Linguini Di Mare for an entree and the seafood was surprising plentiful throughout the dish, and the sauce was flavorful. The staff seemed very friendly, but was a little on the slow side, even though the restaurant was at only about 40% capacity. After reading other reviews on Yelp, it became apparent that no other reviewer had more then 30 reviews and one of the 5 star reviews came from a local. Most of them griped about the price, but every dish is under $25 and most are under $20. If this place was in Bellevue or downtown Seattle, prices would be double that. I understand that Wenatchee is a town of mostly Mexican and "chain" restaurants, but Shakti's deserves a chance to win you over. In summary, the food is nothing earth shattering or innovative, but the flavors are subtle and well balanced. Wine is HORRENDOUSLY overpriced (I'll stick to martinis.) Came in for our four year anniversary with no reservations. Atmosphere was delightful with a beautifully romantic outdoor dining area. Three stars for this fine dining restaurant in Wenatchee is for atmosphere, some portions of food that was good, and desire to make up for their lack of service, twenty minute wait to order, twenty more minutes to get starter salad, and a waiter who was also the bartender being unable to provide good service. Sorry, Shakti. As much as I hyped it years ago this is our experience currently. The restaurant has gone downhill. 8 of us for my birthday (4 couples.). Gentleman server was nice but completely overwhelmed. Most drinking from bottle of wine or beer (2 cocktails) took 40 minutes to get, so can't blame it on a complicated order. Two eventually ordered coffee -- no can do. Coffee maker broken. The food came out sporadically and was hit/miss, but for the price should be a home run. One dish had way undercooked chicken and was inedible. My sister ordered a dessert for me for my birthday and it ended up on my tab. $220 including tip for 2 (we tipped generously, I doubt our server is being supported the way he should be). With all the new restaurants in town I would be doubling down on customer service, not blaming the customers. If something changes I'll be back because I like to support the OG nice restaurants (if I am welcome), but not until. read more

I was staying in Chelan to enjoy the water, and had the best fine dining they had to offer, which fell a little short. So I broadened my search a bit and came across Shakti's in Wenatchee. It was nearly an hour drive away, but I was looking for anything other than pizza and Mexican food which saturated Chelan's downtown corridor. I must say, Shakti's did not disappoint. This was our first time experiencing a fine dining restaurant in Wenatchee ( which cost $190) I love the atmosphere although it was quite dark and we had to use our phone lights to view the menus. The waiter was also the hostess and he made sure to let us know he had been waiting for us (we had reservations) due to being a few minutes late because my partner had stomach issues before we left the house! Should I have to explain that? I felt a little put off right away, certainly not welcomed. Everything the waiter told us (drinks, food etc. was really rushed) there wasn't a calm and relaxing feel to our service. We enjoyed the food although it was heavily salted! We especially loved the bread but felt we shouldn't order more because the waiter said he was trying to make it last through the night because their order didn't come in. He did come back and bring us another serving anyway. The appetizer we ordered was not explained it was a soup (calamari) in which we were surprised. My partner enjoyed his steak. I did not eat my entree due to it also being soup (seafood pasta dish)! The martini and wine we had were great! We will not be coming back to this restaurant as it has many improvements to make before we do. read more

I normally allow minor mishaps when I frequent a restaurant. I understand how difficult it is to coordinate the staff, the deliveries, the weather, etc. and get return business to survive. But Christmas Eve is a time one spends a disproportionate amount of money on dining out in addition to wanting a special evening to remember. The disappointment at Shaktis began right away at 6pm seating. Although the ambiance was lovely if you wish to smooch with your loved one, most people were using their iPhones to review the menu. We had trouble ordering because the first item on top of the menu wasn't available. Compromising on your entree can be annoying but not as annoying as getting your appetizer after your entree is served By this time our table was completely overwhelmed with empty dishes while I was still waiting for another entree since my crab croquetts were mushy not cooked. After ordering a second Bloody Mary and waiting an additional 30 minutes still hungry and unable to see much to distract myself from the issue at hand, the waiter tells me they are out of tomato juice at 7pm. Then we got the check and saw the meal that was uncooked and sent back was still on the check There was no manager to complain to, it wasn't that busy. I ate here with family in August. Very beautiful atmosphere - great for business entertaining, important family dinners, birthdays, celebrations, and romantic dates. The food was extremely expensive, but worth it. Loved the appetizers, my salad, and my entree. They don't really have anything vegetarian on the menu, which is disappointing. But the chef was happy to prepare me a meatless, fishless pasta and even asked my input as to which vegetables I might prefer. That was great, since I could then ask for no red or bell peppers - the stuff of choice for a lot of chefs panicking what to do for vegetarians. Service was a bit slow but this is fine dining and we had a large party, so that's alright. Dessert was fantastic too. I definitely would recommend Shakti's! read more

The ambience in Shakti's is wonderful, but my salad came out almost dry. It was supposed to have gorgonzola cheese on it, and mine did: one teeny tiny piece. My friend's had a number of large pieces and plenty of dressing. When our entree's came, mine was not good. I ordered the puttanesca. It was supposed to come with chicken, olives, dried tomatoes, mushrooms and artichokes. I actually ordered it for the artichokes and when I found out that the pear-tomato coulis was the main sauce I didn't change the order because of the artichokes; I didn't get even one tiny piece. I also didn't get any dried tomatoes, and I only got three slices of mushroom, less that half a mushroom. On the other hand, there were so many olives you could barely taste anything else. There also wasn't much chicken. The service was extremely slow. The server never came back until I had eaten as much of it as I was going to eat. Even my old-fashioned didn't taste right. To make it worse, this was my birthday present from my friend. It is expensive, especially for what we got. I had never been to Shakti's before, and I will never go back. read more

We were extremely excited to check out Shaki's as it's presented as "Fine Dining" so our expectations started to creep up and our anticipation started to build. As we walked up, there was a vibrant red sign so you can't miss it. The restaurant is separated into two main sections, bar to the right of the entrance, and fine-dining to the left. We were impressed with the kind and responsive service from the staff, water glasses were filled consistently and requests for additional beverages were asked. Our first selection was the 2 1 8 P r a w n s - blackened brown sugar and cayenne, cool bedded spinach, fresh tomato and sweet basil mayonnaise. These were incredibly tasty. Full of flavor with a strong spice profile with gentle notes of sweetness, and tang. The sweet basil mayonnaise was an excellent compliment to the powerful spice notes. But be warned, the spice will carry on throughout the night and might even make you shed a tear or two. Perfect for those looking to spice it up a bit. For the main course, we chose the D u c k B r e a s t - pan-crisped with caramelized shallot, imported Amarena cherries and house-crafted Demi Glace. Chef Shaki cooked this one perfectly. The Amarena cherries were perfectly sweeten not overly sweet, had a nice deep color and flavor to it complimenting the duck cooked medium per request. Nice pink color in the center but crispy on the outside/skin that contained the seasoning and spices. Mashed potatoes soft and creamy not a lot of additive flavor which was brilliant because the plate had the cherry sauce to smoother with it. Green beans crisp but cooked delicious along with the red bell pepper. The other main course was the D i M a r e - Penn Cove mussels, Manila clams, calamari, sea scallops & ocean prawns with Italian Pear Tomato Coulis, Pinot Grigio, chilis and sweet basil. Shakti absolutely nailed this dish with flying colors. It was so good my wife started eating off my plate and eventually had to trade dishes. The housemade Italian Pear Tomato Coulis had savory flavors of sun-dried tomatoes, garlic, olive oil and basil which was perfectly married with the Pinot Grigio wine sauce. We give Shakti's high marks and a breath of fresh air when it comes to Italian cuisine. You can see the Chef's love and passion coming out of the dishes. Bold, flavorful and a contemporary style for seafood and meats. We will be back again. read more

Tried Shakti's tonight after reading other reviews on Yelp. We were not disappointed at all! Started with the Pacific Coast Crab Cakes which were moist, flavorful, and very tender. Served beautifully on a bed of spring greens and lemon. We both ordered the Boulognese al Forna with Kobe beef and sausage in a meat sauce. Salads were brought, a Caesar and a house salad. Both were very tasty. Bread was delivered along with a dipping plate. It was fresh and delicious. The entrées were served hot from the oven. The pasta was perfectly prepared, dollops of ricotta cheese and a Boulognese sauce with cream accented the plate. Very large portions and I'm pleased to say we have leftovers for lunch tomorrow! I ordered the Ginger Whiskey Ale and my dining partner had a Pomegranate martini. The Ginger Whiskey was different but delicious once I got used to the strong Ginger flavor. The Pom martini was terrific. Service could not have been better. Our server was very attentive without being overbearing. All in all, probably the best meal we have had since we moved here. Visiting my relatives in town I was on the hunt for a good restaurant. Yelp didn't let me down. First let me say that this restaurant was very classy. I know some other yelpers put it down a bit but I thought it was extremely classy and very nice. We were greeted promptly and nicely by the host who seated us promptly. There were 4 in our party. I ordered a salad and the rack of lamb. The salad was fresh and the lamb was cooked exactly to order and was extremely tasty. I loved the sauce that was served with it. For dessert the 4 of us shared bread pudding. I was quite impressed because it wasn't too sweet. Sometimes bread pudding is so sweet it is sickening but not the case here. Some complain about the pricing but I have eaten at restaurants around the world and even though this restaurant is pricey compared to most other Wenatchee venues it is on par with other restaurants that serve this level of high-quality of food. I have been to Shakti's several times and I always enjoy my visits. I've sat in the dining room and the lounge and received great service in both areas. The outdoor garden is beautiful and serene after a busy day at work, but the inside is also gorgeous and more upscale than most of the places in Wenatchee. This is a slower paced restaurant, so I wouldn't recommend Shakti's if you are looking to get in and out. It's meant to be enjoyed slowly over a great glass of wine or my favorite the Southern Sidecar Martini. Food takes around 30 minutes or more to come out but is worth the wait. As far as the food goes, I love their crab cakes during their Happy Hour or Ladies night on Thursdays. I have also had the Bolognese Al Forno, Chicken Marsala, and their Kobe Burger; each was delightful. As far as pricing, it is very fair considering you get salad, ciabatta bread and a well portioned entree. (I always take a to go box). Also if you go to the Shakti's website there is a buy one get one half off on dinner entrees. We had a 6 PM reservation and we waited nearly 15 minutes before we were seated, service was slow due to a lack of servers and a designated greeter. All I can say...is that whenever I am in town from CA...I come here. This is a cute house in the center of town that has a warm atmosphere and really great food. I'm sorry to report that my last dinner at Shakti's was disappointing. Valentine's Day, 2016. The main course was filet mignon with a colossal prawn and mashed potatoes and fresh string beans. The prawns were over cooked and had that awful fishy after taste that required much wine to cleanse away. The filet was ordered medium rare and arrived rare and cold to the touch. The potatoes were not thoroughly mashed as they had large clumps and slices. These too were just shy of Luke warm. Normally, I'm not one for complaining but after dropping $200 for a special night out, my expectations are higher than Denny's fare. Until something changes at Shakti's, save your money and buy a good steak from Mike's meats. The salad was good. read more

I would consider us to be pretty regular here though I think we are going to need to take a break and perhaps let them work on their consistency. The last two times have been very inconsistent both in service and food. Lately my favorite has been the Linguine di mare which is suppose to have scallops which the last two times did not! The sauce tonight was very lemony and spicy this is a first...I think they must have mixed up their spices. I really enjoy this restaurant and used to consider it a hidden gem but lately they are missing their mark. The restaurant is also so dark you can't see your food!
