There's a cute mural in the waiting room but it feels out of place for the rest of the space. The exam tables are really old wood tables & the gear seems like it's seen better days. There is no after-hours help or even help during office hours days the doctor is not in the office. My kids are rarely ill & I mainly went for kids well-check appointments & vaccines. The front desk staff is fantastic. Their main receptionist is always pleasant & helpful. There were 2 great nurse practitioners, one I believe was NP Stacey. She was fantastic. There was a 3rd NP for a very short time. She wouldn't use the correct term for a male's anatomy. We believe it's better to use the correct medical terms for our bodies rather than nicknames. It was weird that a medical professional was uncomfortable with that word [edited for content] Downside: They have no after hours contact number or doctor on call. My prior & current pediatrician have after hours numbers. We've had great experience with after hours calls and resolved problems without unnecessary trips to the Urgent Care/ER. My main complaint is that Dr. Mahfoud has no after hours help-line. Their only recommendation is to go to Urgent Care or ER. I just need to know if my kid is sick enough for a trip to the UC/ER or if there's something I could just do at home. When my daughter got Covid, I called on a Friday late morning, before lunch, during business hours. Dr. Mahfoud was not in the office & they told me he would not be available until Monday. I was inconsolable. Thankfully I had some nurse friends & a Google medical degree so I cautiously watched her day by day. I wanted to avoid UC/ER to avoid her exposure to others & to avoid exposing all of us to other sick people. As far as regular medical attention, he was OK. He made sure the kids were current on vaccines. One kid has been constantly underweight & it always worried me. He didn't address those issues. Nurse Stacey identified a possible problem and recommended specialists. I'm grateful for her advice. Nurse Stacey also noted possible issues with kid #2 that we've been monitoring & have resolved. But that's 5-stars for NP Stacey, not Dr. Mahfoud. He did handle one medical issue that we had to come in for. It wasn't serious. I believe he got us in in a reasonable amount of time. It's the lack of after hours help or help when he's not in the office that is a problem. As of this writing 5/10 of the reviews are for ear piercing. Just sayin'.

The main reason I left was because the service is horrible, they're not very nice if you don't follow their recommendations. They do not make you feel welcome to ask questions or make your own decisions. The main reason that they do this is because they want you to follow their vaccination schedule so that their insurance reimbursement rates are higher. My daughter has been sick for over six months. I've paid for her to see the doctor to get medicine and the doctor has refused to give my Daughter medicine, claiming she has allergies. I told her the last time that I can't keep paying her not to get medicine. She said I can just call in and she will proscribe my daughter medicine. After my daughter getting sick again and again with a fever, I called the Doctor yesterday and the nurse said the Dr called in the medicine. I waiting for the pharmacy to call and found out this morning, on a Saturday, she never sent it in. I called the Dr and she stated she sent the allergy medicine to the pharmacy in our last visit, which we already picked up and have been using. At that point, the doctor told me I would have to pay for my daughter to see the Dr. again. I told her I can't keep paying her to not treat my daughter and got into an argument with her, because her solution was for me to get a different Doctor. Now, after six months, I'm in the ER with my daughter who has a fever, high blood pressure for the infection and ex rays to make sure this continued non treatment has not cause pneumonia. As I told the Dr. over the phone, she is a terrible human to take peoples money and refuse to treat them. I will be making a written complaint against her license to n Monday.

Then when we finally get in to see the doctor, he confirms the diagnoses we had received from Foothill Presbyterian two days before -- Croup. Then this friggin' guy goes on to tell me that we need to go back to the ER, because he "can't in good conscience send us home" because the baby "could stop breathing and he didn't want that on his hands." He said we needed an xray of his throat and chest immediately or he could die. SERIOUSLY? We go back to Foothill and they immediately start questioning what the hell this dude was talking about. We are in the ER for an hour and they were able to do 10x more than this doctor did. They confirmed he was NOT AT THE RISK OF DYING, and not to worry. Seriously? I am done with all these damn scare tactic doctors and these false doctor reviews. What a JOKE!! Don't go here! PLEASE!! I am changing doctors immediately.
