What a horrible experience. I slept in my clothes. The floor was dirty. There was no coffee maker or microwave. If you look at other reviews, they've been removed because they had mold growing in the coffee makers and God knows how awful the microwaves were. I felt unsafe in my room. I checked in after 11 PM after getting up at 2 AM and driving from Los Angeles. I was way too exhausted to go to the front desk or try to straighten this out. From the reviews every room is filthy. I originally booked a different hotel on 8/4 as our flights had changed and we needed to add an extra night to our stay. Didn't look too bad and reviews were decent. Booked through snap travel. Literally the only reason I used snap travel was for the price/quality of the room of the original booked hotel. I didn't need anything super fancy as we just needed a clean room with a shower and bathtub (so I could soak my feet) Literally probably one of the WORST "hotels" (if you can even call it that). Sketchiest area of town. We checked in late because we were just going to go back to the room and relax/soak before our flight in the morning. First impression- boarded up graffiti building directly across the street, super sketchy area. Dried puke in the parking lot that was still there when we left (I wish I took more pictures than the ones I took) room reeked like dog pee. MOLD on the ceiling from a leak that does not look remediated. Huge water intrusion spots Tv had no remote, tv stand was filthy and I don't think ever wiped down. Broken glass on tv stand. Sheets (and towels) had someone else's makeup on them. Bathroom wall has large spot that someone's dog chewed. Hole punched in bathroom door and poorly patched. Walls in bathroom had stuff running down them. Hard to see in pics. All light switches totally filthy. Bathtub stopper was broken so couldn't even use the tub. Possible poop on bathroom wall. The room that my family checked in was horrible and I am not being dramatic. The reason why I am saying that this hotel is really bad is because they have bed bugs,don't change the bed sheets,hair everywhere,smelled like smoke and every thing was dirty. Just a rundown motel in need of repair and upgrade. The bathroom was dirty, the toilet leaked with water pooling on the floor. Water damage walls and ceiling paint pealing door lock broken. Bedding was stained, the beds were very firm springs. Furniture was stained with paint and makeup. Portion of the ceiling open with wire hanging. Walls were stained as well as clumps of something stuck on the tile Floors. The bedding had an old blanket stained with no top sheet as would normally be found. Clearly the top sheet was missing . We got placed here after a flight delay by the airport, and were a little afraid reading the other reviews, but I was actually pleasantly surprised. It is very old fashioned and not exactly spotless just because of age, but it's perfectly serviceable. Shower is hot, air conditioning is very powerful, and it has a cute little balcony. Decor is nostalgic, grandma's house in the 80s, I found it kind of charming. We didn't see any bugs whatsoever and had nice clean towels. Sheets weren't soft but fresh and clean. Ok so after canceling our hotel room wich was waaaayyy too ugly and crappy (travelodge yes im talking about you) we decided to check this hotel out. It is Jan 2019 and we paid 220$ for two nights and we left a 30$ deposit. Sooooooo we go into our bedroom, on the second floor in the lobby area, I believe it was room 207. In the bathroom well it was very clean Except the toilet did NOT flush. We had to hold the thing down for about 30 seconds straight in order for it to flush. The tub was expectacular!!!! Im talking extra white crispy clean, it was sorrounded by a white courtain The sink was also clean. The bedroom well the bed was soft and they had the basic plain old sheets. There was three pillows, two standard sized and one king size. The lamps did not work but the ceiling fan and light did. There was a new flat screen tv. The fridge was working so I placed my drinks in there hehe and they was cold. The microwave worked too The Rug looked old but not dirty. Pros: Free paking obviously, clean bath and cheap. They have a pool Cons: I did not feel safe because this hotel is located entering downtown las vegas and I could tell there were very much locals around smoking and acting crazy. I did not see a security around. But the entire place is being videotaped by surveillance cameras. ALSO my room had a balcony but I was surprised that it had access to other rooms. It was a long balcony and the balcony doors where nothing but crystal. I did locked my doors because SAFETY as I did not know the other people staying there. Well how should I write this review? I was basically forced to stay here due to sudden surge of room demand of the long Memorial weekend that made me can't find any decent room in Las Vegas. I literally made about 20 calls to different hotels and motels asking for "Do you have vacancy for one room tonight?" and this is the only place that still had ONE room left. So I had to stay here otherwise it's gonna be my car. The good: Upon checking in, the guy at the frontdesk was very friendly and helpful! Which I truly appreciate. The bad: Gosh where to even begin. Pungent, right in your face kinda pungent smell of cigarette and weed attacks your nose the second you opened up the door. Main light didn't work. One of the 2 lamp got unplugged I thought it wasn't working but later I found out it was unplugged so I plugged it back in for more light. Mattress is.... well it is what it is, it wasn't that bad but it certainly wasn't average kinda good either. No microwave, no fridge. Only got 2 towels and one of it is not even from this hotel, it looks like someone stole a pool towel from another hotel and put it there and they just kept using it..... Only one set of shampoo and conditioner and soap. Weird people playing loud music at night and banging on the door( neighbour) at 7AM for 20 mins non-stop...... I thought someone OD'ed and died in the room and 911 is trying to open the door or something, idk, I was so tired I didn't even bother to look, I just put some earplugs in and kept sleeping. Conclusion: Is this a place u wanna stay while on vacation? Hell no! Is this a place that makes u wanna sleep in ur car instead? It's not that bad. At least I didn't find any bed bugs. She dropped one and then that's when the attendant noticed she was playing with them he quickly started to get angry telling her I told u not to play with these u do this everyday so on and so forth . I quickly told him what is wrong with u, u don't talk to her like that! He continued to say u don't know her she does this everyday they used to be filled this high etc etc. I told him I don't care u don't yell at her ! MIND U THE LITTLE GIRL IS BY HERSELF. He continued to try to argue with me the fact that I don't understand . He explained she is gypsy and that she had been staying there for 2 years . If on location, price, and safety I give to Shalimar 5 points. I was given the keys to a room that was clean, however the furnitures, the polliws - everything is old and shabby. As one can see from the picture I am attaching to my review, there is no flat tv but old fashioned ascilloscope tv that is barely working. Check-in was smooth(3/25/22-3/27/22) Had two rooms for myself and husband and our children. There was free parking which was a plus, except the parking lot was filthy and a dining table took up parking spaces that had at least 10+ people out there eating cause it seemed maybe the owners entire family living there. Rooms cleanish, linens in short supply. Found hairs in the bed. Went to make coffee in the morning and the coffee pot reservoir had stagnant water in it with a very thick layer of mold growing In it. Went down to the front desk to speak to manager which I never got to physically speak to after getting the run around all day the front desk lady said the manager said they would give me 20% off my room(which will be refunded later through hotels.com). Their excuse for this NASTINESS was they had fired the house keeping lady the weekend prior to my check in due to lack of her cleaning properly but in my opinion if you are going to fire someone for their lack of cleaning abilities maybe management should check the rooms personally before allowing guests to stay in their establishment. If this is how their hotel is ran I would definitely never eat in their restaurant for fear of sanitary reasons. Worst hotel ever. Definitely never staying there again. Our stay at this "hotel" was less than satisfactory to say the least. The first room that they gave us stunk strongly of weed and the air conditioning was not operational. We told them about it so they gave us another room. This room had working air conditioning but the carpet was dirty and it looked unsanitary. The beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable. The entire hotel itself was disgusting and had a weird aroma. Both of the rooms didn't have soap and only came with two little bottles of shampoo. It's a budget hotel, I get it. Yet there is no trash can, bath tub mat, washcloth, do not disturb sign or heat in my room. The knobs to the heat/air cond are removed so that nothing works but the fan. The mattress is wrapped in plastic, I guess that's a bedbug deterrent? The people that work here are nice though. What a lot of people tend to forget, is you get what you pay for. If you want to be cheap, you get a cheap room. Simple as that....We upgraded. First I want to give a HUGE shout out to Julio!! That guy is super nice. Took care of all of our concerns, upgraded us to a 3 bed for a REALLY decent price. The room was clean, the beds were nicely fixed up, and it was spacious. Beds were nice and soft, (we brought our own pillows). I especially loved the shower head...it was relaxing. No issues at all...I would definitely recommend this place to stay. Worst experience ever had no choice but to stay I called 6 hours in advance to reserve my room and confirm my arrival time and I told them exactly I was getting there at 3am they book me a day early I get there talk to receptionist and he told he couldn't change nothing I can only stay the night and leave at 12 pm after arriving the same day at 3am and wouldn't try to help at all for the mistake they made after about an hour of trying to figure something out I just took the room and slept for a couple of hour because there was no point of arguing anymore rooms were okay not the cleanest or comfortable but that never bothers me at all I know what pay is what I get but man worst customer service ever!!!! This hotel is honestly nice on the outside and in the lobby. The room me and my sister were in however was not. The bed was very low and uncomfortable , the plastic was still on the mattress and i didn't like that because the sheets were too small or something because they kept slipping off, the AC definitely works lol i like it cold, but it was very loud. Now, i'm not one to sit around and watch tv all day so i'm not picky about whether it's basic cable or not, but seeing that people had flat screens and certain shows is odd to me because we had a whole dinosaur (old) tv in our room with very trash reception. we found a roach in the bathroom and we heard mice running and squeaking in the bathroom vents. The bathroom was very clean though. It wasn't completely terrible, but i didn't like it. read more
