Setting a new low in Vegas stays. Hate to rate businesses low but we were horrified by the place. Should have known better based on location. Everything was so dirty from the bathroom sink/toilet, to the phone and carpets. Even found a cockroach crawling around the walls next to my food. Our reservation was 3 days total only because we had pets and everywhere else was pretty booked up. We couldn't stay there a third day and ran away as soon as we could. We attempted to call prior to booking to ask about pet fees, no one ever answered the phone.

Outside my room, a filthy carpet.

What a horrible experience. I slept in my clothes. The floor was dirty. There was no coffee maker or microwave. If you look at other reviews, they've been removed because they had mold growing in the coffee makers and God knows how awful the microwaves were. I felt unsafe in my room. I checked in after 11 PM after getting up at 2 AM and driving from Los Angeles. I was way too exhausted to go to the front desk or try to straighten this out. From the reviews every room is filthy. It's in a really bad part of town. I would recommend staying anywhere else. I booked through Priceline over the phone. It was posted as a 3 1/2 star hotel. I've trusted Priceline on the past. Never again. Stay anywhere else.

Exterior. Sketchy area of town, buildings all around with graffiti. Worst area of all of Vegas

I originally booked a different hotel on 8/4 as our flights had changed and we needed to add an extra night to our stay. Didn't look too bad and reviews were decent. Booked through snap travel. Literally the only reason I used snap travel was for the price/quality of the room of the original booked hotel. I didn't need anything super fancy as we just needed a clean room with a shower and bathtub (so I could soak my feet) Literally probably one of the WORST "hotels" (if you can even call it that). Sketchiest area of town. We checked in late because we were just going to go back to the room and relax/soak before our flight in the morning. First impression- boarded up graffiti building directly across the street, super sketchy area. Dried puke in the parking lot that was still there when we left (I wish I took more pictures than the ones I took) room reeked like dog pee. MOLD on the ceiling from a leak that does not look remediated. Huge water intrusion spots Tv had no remote, tv stand was filthy and I don't think ever wiped down. Broken glass on tv stand. Sheets (and towels) had someone else's makeup on them. Bathroom wall has large spot that someone's dog chewed. Hole punched in bathroom door and poorly patched. Walls in bathroom had stuff running down them. Hard to see in pics. All light switches totally filthy. Bathtub stopper was broken so couldn't even use the tub. Possible poop on bathroom wall. Not sure what it was. Did not even feel comfortable showering here. I am filing a BBB complaint as well. RUNNNNN

The room that my family checked in was horrible and I am not being dramatic. The reason why I am saying that this hotel is really bad is because they have bed bugs, don't change the bed sheets, hair everywhere, smelled like smoke and every thing was dirty. Everything was outdated and needed to be replaced. The front desk was understandable and moved us to a different room that looked better than the other one because it look more clean but don't let that fool you because when we checked the closet the replacement sheets were still dirty and weren't even folded. Also I forgot to say that when we lifted the sheets to check for bed bugs the sheets looked like they had pee

Ok so after canceling our hotel room wich was waaaayyy too ugly and crappy (travelodge yes im talking about you) we decided to check this hotel out. It is Jan 2019 and we paid 220$ for two nights and we left a 30$ deposit. Sooooooo we go into our bedroom, on the second floor in the lobby area, I believe it was room 207. As we walked in I was in awe because there was a small hallway with a nice closet , that included an iron and an iron board, a safe and some hangers. In the bathroom well it was very clean Except the toilet did NOT flush. We had to hold the thing down for about 30 seconds straight in order for it to flush. The tub was expectacular!!!! Im talking extra white crispy clean, it was sorrounded by a white courtain The sink was also clean. The bedroom well the bed was soft and they had the basic plain old sheets. There was three pillows, two standard sized and one king size. The lamps did not work but the ceiling fan and light did. There was a new flat screen tv. The fridge was working so I placed my drinks in there hehe and they was cold. The microwave worked too The Rug looked old but not dirty. Pros: Free paking obviously, clean bath and cheap. They have a pool Cons: I did not feel safe because this hotel is located entering downtown las vegas and I could tell there were very much locals around smoking and acting crazy. I did not see a security around. But the entire place is being videotaped by surveillance cameras. ALSO my room had a balcony but I was surprised that it had access to other rooms. It was a long balcony and the balcony doors where nothing but crystal. I did locked my doors because SAFETY as I did not know the other people staying there. I really wished they had a wall between the balconies or some shit‍ NO BED BUGS I am the first thing bed bugs eat, I think Im sweet as fuck lmao! anyways they did not have any bed bugs on my room how lucky because I had bed bugs in other hotels that sucked the fuck out of me. Anyways I recommend this Shalimar hotel if you're on the run like me and it is under the cheap side. Also they havw a Cuban breaksfast reataurant

Avoid any rooms on the 1st floor ESPECIALLY ROOM 117! total dump! No coffee maker no mini fridge....Busted AC. Mismatched everything, curtains falling down, TP holding broken. It's a dungeon filthy and floors are cold. Any and everything that has ever broken in this hotel is shoved into this tiny cramped room. Total dump! I did transfer to room 304. 110% improvement. View of pool much bigger and clean. The only plus is the Fremont Experience is a 3 min drive or really easy walk at night. Neighbor is so so. It's off the strip which is another plus. This place is kid friendly and pet friendly.

    Andy L.

Was about to go to sleep in this motel then suddenly I see a small tiny bug running up the pillow. I squashed it and had a smear of blood then I checked the rest of the bed only to see little spots of blood and a trace of blood. When I confronted the manager in the front desk showing my pillow with the bug blood smeared pillow he only said "What do you want me to do about this?". He then argued with me saying that the pillows not a bug stain and we don't have bed bugs here. And I told him I specifically squished one and he just said "What do you want me to do about it" kept repeating that. We left the motel immediately after...

Horrible place. I booked online and the pictures they show online look pretty nice. As soon as we pulled up I could tell it was a bad idea. We checked in to a "non smoking" room. As soon as we go to the hallway the place reeked with weed. We opened up our room and the smell wasn't inside yet. We dropped off our stuff and left at first glance the room looked horrible. We came back at night to find a roach in the bathroom. The walls also have stains and need to be cleaned. I couldn't even sleep thinking the bed could have bed bugs. I couldn't bring myself to shower or shower my kids in this place. Never coming back

My feet after no more than 5 minutes of walking around .

IF I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE 0 STARS I WOULD . Let me just say this as soon as I walked into this hotel I actually thought it was beautiful, older but beautiful. I walked around for about 5 minutes before my feet were BLACK when I say black I mean BLACK ! Not a problem so I called and told them NICELY if someone was here to mop or if I could change my room to a clean one. They told me that I had been here since 3 pm and I have an animal with me. I had been on the strip all day I just came here to drop off my luggage . Plus I'm walking In the room BAREFOOT so how could I have made the room dirty. Make it make sense, sir. Anyways not a problem I let him know that and he said well there are no rooms available at the moment (it's Saturday night I totally understand) so I said okay no worries and just planned to walk in sandals. Then I notice my dog is eating pieces or something idk off the floor ! So I went down to the lobby to ask if I could sweep/ mop myself . As I'm waiting in line there's a young girl maybe 8 years old . She was asking something maybe to get a new key card and one of the guys literally just said no she said what? And he shook his head and pointed to the other attendant . We're waiting a while and she's playing with these little beads that they had on the counter. She dropped one and then that's when the attendant noticed she was playing with them he quickly started to get angry telling her I told u not to play with these u do this everyday so on and so forth . I quickly told him what is wrong with u, u don't talk to her like that! He continued to say u don't know her she does this everyday they used to be filled this high etc etc. I told him I don't care u don't yell at her ! MIND U THE LITTLE GIRL IS BY HERSELF. He continued to try to argue with me the fact that I don't understand . He explained she is gypsy and that she had been staying there for 2 years . I told him I DO NOT CARE U NEED TO STAY IN YOUR LANE SIR . I told him she is a child if I was a child I would do the same exact thing IN FACT I would buy the beads for her! Anyways I now explained to him that my room is filthy and I was wondering if I could clean it myself he sends up JUST A MOP . the mop was barley wet so I filled up my tub with bubble bath water so I could clean the floor some what ... the whole tub quickly turned black which explained why the floors are so dirty .

The parking is shared with a strip club. Find a spot before the club opens, or good luck finding a spot. The security from the strip club asked why I was parking there and I did have to show my parking slip. My advice is to park before it gets too late, or you may have issues. The shared area was nice, and there were people enjoying eachothers company and having a few drinks. I would have joined them, but had to be up early so I just went to bed. The bunks are small, and the AC was barely keeping up with the heat. The ladders to get to top bunks are small and it was not super easy to crawl into my bunk. The really loud squeaking of the bed with the smallest motion made it hard to not disrupt others while getting situated for bed. One in the bunk, there was a light, and a curtain for privacy. That was it. No perks. There was a cockroach in the bathroom. It scurried quickly. The shower was small and hard to maneuver in, but it worked. Overall, for the price, I would absolutely return. The privacy blackout curtains on each bunk are a great touch! Might seem basic, but I've stayed in hostel dorms without any privacy accommodations for the bunks. If you stay in a dorm, the top bunks have a LOT more headspace and you can fully sit up in them (I'm 5'7" for reference), but the ladder to get up there is small and a theres nothing to grab onto so be careful.

The location is fantastic--just a short 5-7 minute walk to the Fremont Street Experience, with tons of restaurants, bars, and entertainment right nearby. It's in the heart of the action without being right on top of the chaos. The hotel has a cool mid-century modern / retro Vegas vibe. Our room was clean, comfortable, and nicely updated with a unique design touch (each room feels a bit different). The bed was very comfortable, and the space was a good size for the price. Free Wi-Fi worked well, and the staff at the front desk was friendly and helpful. We loved the outdoor pool area--it's intimate and retro, perfect for relaxing or cooling off during the day. The connected Gold Spike backyard has oversized games, a bar with drinks and food service, and a fun social atmosphere (great for hanging out without needing to head to the Strip). It's adults-only (21+), which kept things chill. Overall, it's a great value if you're looking for an affordable, boutique-style stay in Downtown Las Vegas. Not a luxury resort, but the rooms are modern enough, the location can't be beat, and the vibe is fun and laid-back. Would definitely consider staying here again for a Downtown-focused trip.

The rooms are very small with a single bed and a cheap frame that moves. It will not stay close to the wall so be aware of this. Also you share a bathroom with many other people so you may have to wait awhile. There is no toilet paper in the bathroom so remember to bring your own in the room. go figure. The walls are thin so you hear every little noise and the doors bang shit at all hours. I had a cleaning person enter my room while I was naked on the bed. So between the Manager coming to your door for a deposit, barking dog, staff entering your room was a little to much and I had to check out early and find a normal hotel. I was looking forward to the Vegas version of this classic ride and I got it. Was it over priced? Yes. At the same time you get what you pay for. A fun ride around the camels in the Venetian Resort in Las Vegas. There was supposed to be an photographer taking our picture so we can buy at the end, but his camera malfunctioned so we didn't get the shot. Moment like i had I would have bought it. Fortunately we weren't totally relaying on him. I'm overly thrilled with my photo, I got exactly what I paid for a fun ride and the perfect shot to frame and remember this day. And yes, I really did frame it and it sits on my piano. As long as you know what you're paying for, it's totally worth it. And now that you've seen my shot and know that it's taken at the end of the ride when you come out from under the bridge, you can get the same shot too. Have fun and enjoy Vegas and the Venetian. For the Hotel/Resort: The basic rooms here are better than the majority of other strip hotels. I personally think its top 3, even a small upgrade here gets you a very spacious room. I have stayed in the regular rooms and suites at both The Venetian and The Palazzo. The venetian rooms are more updated, but the Palazzo rooms are good too. The self parking has a lot of spaces but ingress/egress is easier at The Palazzo. However the valet parking here is faster compared to other resorts. The rideshare pickup/dropoff is good too. The casino floor is bright, clean, and good gaming variety. For the slots, I like that they have both old and new machines. I like the older "top dollar" and "run for your money" machines. I also like some of the new machines like KONG . They also have a great variety of video poker, blackjack, roulette, and craps! I have yet to play at the tables here but they have a good variety. The beverage service is good, but coverage/timing could be improved. I feel like some parts of the casino floor do not get as much service. They also have a great variety of food and restaurant options for all budgets. My personal favorite here is Estiatorio Milos. A close second would be SushiSamba. However, I have never had a bad meal here. I also recommend Sugarcane, Chica, Cote, and Smith/Wollensky. I still want to try the other options here! Overall great place to stay or check out. I always leave here feeling great!

The flamingo (lovingly referred to as the "Dirty Bird") isn't the nicest hotel on the strip. The…read morelobby and rooms both have interesting smells to them (read: not good ones). When my guest and I arrived, we tried to use the kiosks to check in but couldn't, so we waited in line for 15-30 minutes before we were helped by an agent. Once we arrived in our room, we settled in. We found it comical how small the pillows in the room were and we noticed that both of the beds had torn bedding. A few minutes into settling in, we noticed that the walls were quite thin. We could fully hear our neighbors conversation, which was fine during the day but really annoying at 3am when we were trying to sleep. Hands down the best thing about the flamingo is its location. It's beside a bridge walkway that takes you to the Caesar's Palace / The Coliseum -- and rig by next to a metro station. We knew that there were live flamingos and so we decided to check them out (but there were far fewer than we expected) NOTE: Hotel guest parking is $20 -- take a left on Linq St if you're coming in from the west side of Flamingo Rd.

Systemic Bias and Unprofessional Security Protocols at Flamingo…read moreAs a regular Las Vegas visitor and Caesars Rewards member, I have stayed at over ten major casino-resorts across the Strip over the past 12 months--including Bellagio, Palms, Venetian, and other Caesars properties--without a single issue. The security operation at the Flamingo, however, is a complete disgrace and operates on blatant, selective targeting. In a single day, I was targeted and stopped by security twice in the exact same spot, despite taking a 90-minute break between visits. I am a 40-year-old adult, yet I was repeatedly singled out while dozens of other patrons walked past unquestioned. When you observe who is being stopped versus who is allowed to walk freely, the pattern of selective enforcement and profiling becomes undeniable. Management's tactic of using soft-spoken front-line staff to carry out discriminatory screening does not obscure the clear bias driving their security operation. Flamingo security is actively harassing paying guests under the guise of "safety" while ignoring actual property awareness. Caesars management needs to audit this location immediately. I will be taking my business exclusively to competing properties on the Strip.
