The hubs and I had a great time enjoying a night cap and great live music at Crow & Quill! Full disclosure, I hate cover charges as I'm a (post-grad adult) local business lover who wouldn't dream of not patronizing the business I'm visiting, but I do fully support live music so when reached the door to be greeted with the "hi, there's a $10 cover per person for the band" I wasn't deterred, but only mildly annoyed as my visit wasn't based on a band (that I may or may not enjoy) but simply for the hopes of enjoying great craft cocktails and a speakeasy vibe as a tourist visiting a nice establishment. In my opinion: I should patronize the business and tip the band if I like them, and the business that hired them should pay them. No? With that, I'd bookmarked Crow & Quill on my Asheville to-do list and walked over from our hotel, so we paid and proceeded to the bar. After grabbing our first round, we were fortunate to find great seats in the packed house. Thankfully, I enjoyed the "surprise band" and they added to our first experience (and our tab) at Crow & Quill. lol... Cheers!

Loved visiting this bar last night! These drinks are so damn good. What a hidden gem of a place. It's strange, it's unusual, it looks like you might find a tooth under the chair who knows. Wonderful spot! Great bartenders. The ambiance is just beautiful. Only sad thing - We accidentally left a gift we got for our cat :(

This is the place to go for bourbon and whiskey lovers. Their selection is virtually unparalleled in the southern US and at very fair prices. When I think of places to go in Asheville, if you love good bourbon, then this is on my very short list. The service was very efficient and professional...I have no complaints there. I found everything to be clean and comfortable, so that added to the experience. Depending on when you visit, it can get busy, so a measure of patience is always advised. Prices...ah yes...we always have to discuss prices. But how do you do that in a place that caters to giving everyone something to enjoy regardless of budget. I know which bourbons I like, and so I'm happy to spend extra for what I enjoy. For the bourbon novice, you can find decent bourbons here for $12-15...a more refined taste you can expect to pay $18-25...but if you enjoy deeper pockets...the sky is the limit. Enjoy something hard to find.

Sexy, sultry, beautiful and that's just the atmosphere! Lol! First time experiencing this place and it was definitely an experience. The music, the people, the entertainment, and the drinks all 10 out of 10, recommend. Grown people vibing.

This is one of the coolest and well done speakeasy concepts that I've been to in a while. It maintains a low key "respect the energy" vibe, the interior is a bit spooky and very much Edgar Allen Poe inspired, the mixologists were super friendly and true artists, and best of all the cocktails were amazing. I always try to order a bees knees at a cocktail restaurant as a measure and they hit a home run. Their Jackie Treehorn was delicious and drank so easily it was dangerous. We also tried a smoked and classic old fashion and both were great.

As we read about places to visit in the area we saw that this at least needed a pop-in visit - worth it! The look and feel inside almost takes you to a different time, sort of giving you a bit of the vintage western meets modern speakeasy. The musicians playing were on point and we enjoyed hearing them. Nice touch. Everything we tried was awesome! Will be back and would recommend!

Cool interior. Love the haunted/edgar Allen Poe vibes.

Feel like I am in Edgar Allen Poes house. Such a cool atmosphere. Amazing list of drinks and spirits. Hidden, hard to find. Had the hot buttered rum. Perfect on a cold night. Will be back!

Lively scene. Dancing to some fantastic Dixieland music.

Incredible vibe near downtown Asheville. Bar tenders were all great and drinks were on point. We were there during a live performance by the Firecracker Jazz Band and they were amazing. Eclectic furnishings and art matched with a classic wooden bar. If you're in Asheville, you have to check it out!

This speakeasy type lounge is located on Lexington Ave. It's a bit hard to find (on purpose) but look for the lanterns and there is a "106"over the door. There is no sign. The night we went was cold and windy so the fact that they have hot cocktails was wonderful. I had hot buttered rum which hit the spot and they didn't skimp on the alcohol! It's definitely a lounge with almost a Victorian theme. Lots of antique furniture, plenty of seats and coffee table to sit around. It wasn't super loud so we were able to talk without having to yell. Always a bit of rarity. They're known for being a whiskey bar with good craft cocktails. I stuck with my buttered rum since it was hard to find at other places in Asheville for some reason. Staff was friendly as were the other customers. Nice to get into a discussion with a group of strangers that almost ended up being like friends by the time the night was over. I'm told that in the past they would have live music from time to time, not sure if that got tamped down due to the pandemic. Check this place out if you get a chance. I'll absolutely be visiting again.

Worth a visit for the ambiance alone! We stopped in here pretty early after they opened upon recommendations from several friends. It is pretty small inside, but luckily that early in a week night it was pretty empty. I tried the Crow's Gin and Tonic, which was beautiful and tasty. There was live music sound checking and then starting up at the end of our time there, which was fun!

Cozy speakeasy with unique drinks and super friendly and attentive bartender. We enjoyed the spiced warm cider and the mule. There was a DJ playing jazz music. Neat place.

We came in with friends who had been here before. True to a speakeasy there was no signage just the door. The inside was eclectic and was full of people along the bar and there was other seating in another part of the place away from the bar area. I ordered an old fashion that was made with a smoke but I didn't get much flavor. It was a good drink and the place had a cool vibe.

Their espresso martini is probably the best I've ever had -- perfectly balanced, smooth, and dangerously easy to drink. Every bartender here is incredibly knowledgeable. They can make anything you ask for and then walk you through the history and origins of the cocktail like you're getting a mini masterclass with your drink. The bar itself is beautiful, with an impressive selection of spirits and a menu full of creative cocktails featuring ingredient combinations you'd never expect to work together -- but somehow they absolutely do. It's also one of the best places in the city to sit back and people-watch while enjoying a perfectly made drink. Do not skip The Times -- honestly, it's worth going out of your way to stop there.

Service was good, it wasn't very busy so pretty easy to walk up and order. I would have loved to try an espresso martini from here but I didnt want to risk not being able to fall asleep (Im getting old). They have indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor is pretty casual with small tables. Indoor decor is fun, halloween-y, and dark. They have a huge selection of liquor, so everyone will be able to find something they like. Sounds like they change their menu frequently so there is always something new to try.

We started with drinks. My husband ordered the blueberry wheat beer and it was incredibly smooth. You could actually taste the blueberry without it being overpowering, which I loved (and I'm not even a beer drinker) For food, we kicked things off with the spinach and artichoke dip (always a good test) and it did not disappoint. Then we had the smoked Gouda bacon jam sliders. The flavors were perfect. The crab rangoons were next and honestly tasted super fresh, unlike any rangoon we've had before. We also ordered the sirloin empanadas and those were another hit. I wish I could eat all those items everyday because of how good they were For dessert, we wanted to try a bunch. The dessert servings are definitely shareable between 2+ people depending what you order. The princess buttercup cake was the perfect balance of rich cake with light, fluffy buttercream. Not overly sweet, just right. We also got the cookies & milk to go with the chocolate raspberry torte and wow!! The torte was light, layered nicely and had fresh raspberries in between. It wasn't heavy at all which is what you'd expect from a rich cake. Literally zero complaints. Everything from the service to the drinks to every single dish checked all the boxes. It's honestly one of the best restaurant experiences we've had in a while. We'll absolutely be back when we visit Asheville again!
