The service is the thing here! The ambiance is good, but it's loud. I guess in my case last night it was ok because we were there with a group of about 21 people including children after 6:30 p.m. Our waiting staff were patient and amazingly friendly! The downside ,The food took too long to come. I ordered the Juicy Lucy ,Walleye fingers , Reuben Rolls and Fries to share. Our table also shared an assortment of their wings which are very tasty! The black dry rub in the picture I believe is called the Wild Wings. My son ordered the habanero wings and he was the only one who could handle the heat on these and I LOVE heat and spice ! Order with a glass of milk! The fries are good! I ordered with their blue cheese dipping sauce! Delicious. I Wasn't super excited about the Reuben rolls. My juicy Lucy was A smaller burger. It was way overcooked. I would not order it again here. Drinks are very good! My Bloody Mary was perfect. They have a very nice children's menu! My grandchildren enjoyed Mini pizza and Mac and cheese! They got Sundays and ice cream cones after their dinner! There is a small game room for the children to be entertained in while waiting for the food to come. There is a mini parking lot in south side of the building you can park in which is very uncommon in this area of St. PAUL! The menu looks Amazing. In my younger years St. Patty's day was a bit more rowdy. But I still have a sweet place in my heart for the Irish bars of Saint Paul One of those spots being the legendary @shamrocksw7th Always good food, quick drinks, and fun times. Before, during or after a wild game this place is always hopping. One of my go to burger spots because they just know what they're doing. You really gotta get a burger here sometime. Dinner date. The patio is a very nicely lit area especially can imagine it when darker outside. Nicely covered so some barriers from insects, etc. Great and helpful service from entry. We had Megan, nice waitress, nice service and pleasant to talk with. Very impressive food. Had the walleye tacos and walleye fish and chips. Both were really great. The hazy i had was fine, although being from San Diego we're pretty spoiled with good hazy beer. I decided to go with a turkey burger (bunless) since I don't love burgers. Stopped in here this past weekend with a group of friends who were familiar with the place, but it was my first time. Straight to the point I'm indifferent. It provided the expected bar atmosphere and probably comes alive in the evening. Service was good. We had a younger male who was attentive. The food overall seemed inconsistent which left us wondering if there was two different cooks on the line. My fries were seasoned, my friends weren't. Love a good burger, you need to come here! The menu never disappoints! I got the #7 Joe Mauers new favorite. It's a Juicy Nookie with smoked cheddar, chipotle mayo, lettuce and tomato. It is messy but so delicious! We also ordered the beer cheese soup for dipping and it came with bacon on top. So much cheesy goodness! Our server was very friendly! He has been with the restaurant for 17 years and loves the place. It's great when you have servers and bartenders who love their place of business and are enthusiastic. We were seated in a quieter room off the side of the main restaurant with a bar and few tv's. We were able to see a few different sporting events happen that night. The main room had a band that was setting up for later that night. We missed out on their set but look forward to returning and enjoying that. Second time coming to Minnesota and was brought here to try a Juicy Lucy burger. Had initially tried one at Matt's Bar my first visit. Upon entering this place was pretty crowded. So it looks like a popular place to go to. We got seated at some high top tables near a back entrance. It was windy and chilly that day so anytime the door opened we get a gust of wind to us. We didn't bother complaining since there wasn't anyplace to really put us a group of 9. The burgers were just burgers... Nothing spectacular. It's literally cheese in the middle of two patties that didn't seem seasoned. The fries were decent. The place is loud could barely hear my sister across the table from me. Horrible service only because of a misunderstanding that I tried to resolve. I had gone to this place in hope it would be a nice lunch date with my boyfriend seems he's from here. But I had made a comment to my boyfriend and the server took offense to me saying "fat bitch" to him getting food thinking I was talking about her. After I tried to resolve the misunderstanding the server did not give me my drink and had already packed up our food before even grabbing the check. So, nothing has changed since my review in 2015. We still love the Honey Bacon Cheese Curds. The Bacon Bourbon Burger is still the Number 1 choice for me. The service is still great. They have TV screens all over, so you will find sports fans there. You will ignore them once the food comes out. I've had the Patty Melt here, and it's wonderful, as you might expect. Deep fried cheese curds soaked in honey, and bacon might be the world's best thing. of course, we ate so many of them that by the time the burgers came out I was halfway to full. Please note that did not stop me from devouring my burger. This burger was perfection. It was juicy, filled with cheese, and so freaking delicious. I nearly died. We were looking for ways to get to a Vikings game. Found out that shamrocks had free parking and had a party bus that will take you to and from the game! Roxie the bus driver is a gem of a lady! We were conflicted with the bus schedules as we wanted to get there a little earlier than the bus would have gotten us there and the general manager came a got a chair and sat and talked with us to answer any questions that we had for the evening! Great customer service! Would highly recommend going here to pre game a Vikings game out of the way of the St. Paul hussle and bustle and there was plenty of parking across the street in the old bank parking lot. We took an uber down to the game and plan to ride the paddywagon home. Food was great as well. Burgers were big and worth the price. The waiter Aaron was absolutely horrible on Monday. It was almost like he did not want to be there. When I arrived, there was CRUMBS AND BACON all over the booth that I had to clean myself. As always the food was good, the service was friendly and quick, and the vibes were great! I had to work the next day, so I was drinking Diet Cokes, but I had to order a Juicy Lucy. I got the Molitor, which has pepper jack cheese instead of the normal American. So good. (Juicy Lucy is 2 burger patties with a slab of cheese between them that is supposed to explode with hot cheesy goodness when you bite into it.) Shamrocks is the sister restaurant of The Nook, which I have been to before. So I knew they had great burgers, I maybe have 3 burgers a year, so I like to make them count. There was not enough cheese in this one is my only complaint. I want my Lucy dripping out like lava from the dead cow. This one was good, but I have had better. They did let me sub a side salad instead of the fries and the salad was large and good! The shuttle worked perfectly and our waitress was awesome, cool atmosphere and very St.Paul. I ordered 12 buffalo wings and an order of jalapeño poppers online. It was delivered about 45 min after estimated time. I got 10/12 wings and 3 jalapeño poppers, at the cost of $40 bucks. This included a $10 delivery feee and food was apparently fly delivered by bike during a thunderstorm, and instructions of calling for delivery weren't followed so food sat on the front of the building steps for who knows how long. Won't be giving my business to this company again. Sorely disappointed as we've enjoyed their sister restaurant several times. read more
