(Some not so great) The famous words of most sales associates "We are going to make it right". Each time I have come has cost me time, gas, money and energy. Why have I never reviewed Shane Co? My engagement ring from 1998 was purchased here. As well as wedding rings in 1999. Even over 20 years ago Shane Co seemed to have no issues with two men buying rings. Service was always helpful and friendly. Since 1998 I've been in many times for ring cleanings and ring repair. I have worked hard to lose weight this past year and my engagement ring became too loose to wear. I actually lost it twice but was lucky enough to find it both times. So I stopped wearing it. I had talked to my husband about getting it resized or trading it in for an up grade / updated style. For Christmas he got me a new ring in white gold. We were back today to get a smaller size and they were super busy but still friendly and helpful. I am from Indianapolis, IN, NOT California On Sunday, April 13, 2025, I discovered that my 1-carat diamond was missing from my wedding ring. I called Shane Co. and spoke with someone over the phone. She mentioned that she was not a salesperson, but they, more than likely could work with me on a replacement diamond. She suggested I come in and speak directly with a salesperson. On Thursday, April 17. 2025. I spoke with a salesperson about the missing diamond. I was very excited when he said, "No problem". We can replace that for you. He went to the back and came back 20 minutes and his whole story changed. He indicated that we had not had our ring service in many years and they could not honor our warranty. I assured them that I had the ring and my other jewelry cleaned and serviced for my 60th birthday celebration. Somehow, it was not recorded in the system. I asked to speak with the manager. She mentioned that they could not replace my diamond as was guaranteed in our warranty. We have been with Shane for almost 32 years without incident, now, every thing the have told us for over THIRTY years has NOT BEEN TRUE. The manager mentioned she could not replace, but could price match with another online Shane co. On Saturday, April 19, 2025, I went back to Shane to pick up my necklace that I dropped off when I was in Shane on April 17th. I spoke with yet another person ( FOURTH PERSON, different story). This person told me, "I am going to be very transparent with you. We had to make adjustments to the warrant. We have new warranties now and we no longer can replace diamonds". I mentioned that my diamond was warrantied OVER 20 years ago and is covered under the old warranty that should be on file. I will need for you to honor the warranty that came with Ring. I mentioned the legal actions that I plan to pursue. She went to the back and came back with what she had planned to do. At the end of the day, nothing additional was done. Shane Co. lacks integrity and DO NOT keep their word. My faith and trust in them is GONE. In another incident, they tried to accuse me of not having a diamond attached to my necklace, now they are not honoring the warranty that my ring and diamond was under when purchased. I am very disappointed because I thought Shane was an upstanding company, but I see they are not. I now will be getting my 31st wedding anniversary pictures taken on April 30th on the Gulf of Mexico with NO WEDDING RING on because of the missing diamond. I was told the estimated wait was 20 minutes, but it was less than 10 minutes before a sales associate came out to get me. We had a great experience with the salesperson who made our two visits for wedding bands fun and low-pressure. We're happy with the final results and price range. When we paid, we were told we'd get a call when they were ready and to expect that in about a week. A few weeks went by and we never heard anything so when we called them, they said there was a 'guaranteed late' listed on our receipt so they didn't have to call to tell us when they were ready. We still had our rings in plenty of time before our wedding, but that miscommunication was a little confusing and frustrating. Mary was terrible. We were prompted with about a 30 minute wait when we showed up. Thats fine. Within 20 minutes we had Mary start helping us. She gave us roughly 15 minutes of her time before leaving to help another couple for over an hour. Not once did she say anything to us about the wait. The manager walked by us and saw us waiting multiple times and did not say a thing to us. We felt very unvalued. I had to personally seek out help from another employee who said they would try and help, but nothing. Terrible experience with Shane Co. I will never buy anything from them again. I purchased an engagement ring and wedding band set from them online. I did not purchase a diamond from them as I already had a diamond that I purchased elsewhere online that was considerably cheaper and higher quality than anything being sold at Shane Co. I went to Shane Company after receiving my ring set as I wanted to inquire about having my diamond mounted to the engagement ring. I wasn't expecting this to be done for free as I had not purchased the diamond from Shane Co, but I was expecting to be charged a discounted price or at the very least a fair price considering I have bought the ring set from them. After collecting all my information, weighing the diamond and taking measurements I was told by the sales rep that my ring would be finished by July 10th. This was good news as I did not want to be waiting weeks on end to get my ring back. Then she told me the price was going to be 900 dollars and my jaw hit the floor. I felt insulted by this price as it was nowhere near a reasonable price to pay to have a diamond mounted to an engagement ring. I had already called around prior to stopping in at Shane Co and the going rate was two to three hundred dollars to have a diamond the same weight as mine mounted to an engagement ring. Not too mention in the past I have had other diamonds and various stones mounted to rings and never paid more than 200 dollars for it. The process of mounting a ring is not rocket science nor is it time consuming. It can be done in under 30 minutes very easily and most times under 20 minutes. To charge someone 900 dollars for this service is absolutely ridiculous. Imagine paying 900 dollars to have your oil changed because that's about as long as it takes to mount a diamond to am engagement ring. After learning the price I thanked the sales rep, took my ring and my diamond and left the store. Hupp Jewelers is a jeweler right across the street from Shane Co. I took my ring and diamond and inquired about the cost to mount the diamond to my engagement ring. I was told it would cost $150. I was sold on having them mount my diamond and I left my ring and diamond in their care. Upon leaving I noticed I had a voicemail from Shane Co. The sale rep that I had spoken with called to tell me that if I had another jeweler mount my diamond to the ring I purchased from Shane Co then my lifetime warranty would be voided. What a joke! Thankfully I am still well inside my 60 day return window so this ring set is going back to Shane Co and I will never do business with them again. What a racket! They force you to pay their exorbitant prices or void your lifetime warranty. Shane Co is the very definition of corporate greed. Their prices are no better than that of a common criminal. read more

Their commercials constitute some of the most annoying 60 seconds in radio that I've ever heard, but I figured I wouldn't hold Tom Shane's nasally pitches drive me away from at least giving the store a shot. The interior is really dated and the merchandise is ho-hum, very similar to what you'll find at dozens of mall jewelry stores. No rings or other pieces of jewelry stuck out to me as unique items that I would want to have my boyfriend spend a couple thousand dollars on, nor would I go here to splurge on myself. We've had a really tough time with Shane Co. Every touch point we have with them something goes wrong. First they ordered the wrong type of metal for my engagement ring when my fiancée picked it out. Then when we went to get the correct band and get it resized they promised it would be done by the next weekend. Well we go back the following weekend and the ring isn't even close to done, they didn't even bother calling us to let us know it would be delayed before we drove all the way up there. Then when I finally got the ring back, the part in the back that was resized was very irregular, scratched, and way too thin in spots. So we'll have to drive back and wait for the ring to be fixed once again (hopefully they get it right this time). The ring overall is very beautiful but all the hassle hasn't been worth it. Every time that you purchase from here, you get an automatic lifetime warranty on that item. This includes center diamonds! If a diamond chips or the diamond falls out of the band, they cover it. We went to two other competitors before coming to Shane so it was definitely a "third time's the charm" type deal! Obviously, as a salesperson, you want to make a sale, but buying engagement rings is a process, you shouldn't expect to nail it on the first try - we definitely lucked out! I came in to get my finger sized, mainly, but after trying on a few options, I fell in love with my engagement ring. I don't normally do reviews, but the service at Shane Co. prompted me to make an account and share... First, let me explain a bit. I'm from Fort Wayne, so the closest Shane Co. is about an hour and a half to two hours away in Fishers. I was planning on purchasing an engagement ring through Shane Co, as my good friend Ryan is an associate there. When I first came to Ryan (it was busy season and I'm an accountant), I had a conversation about what style of ring I wanted to purchase and Ryan immediately began searching. In no time at all, he had come up with the exact ring that I had in mind and was comparable in price to other styles on the market, but the quality was bar none. All that took place on a telephone, which shows the attention to detail by Ryan and Shane Co. in general. Fast forward to after the proposal, and my fiancé and I were able to make the trip down to meet with Ryan in-store. As we looked for our wedding bands, he was incredibly knowledgeable and able to answer any questions we may have had, balancing a personal and professional conversation. He knew what I liked and made it easy to get to the end result, the exact ring I wanted once again. As I had known Ryan previously, I wanted to see how he and the other associates interacted with other customers. Not only did they all display the same amount of professionalism and knowledge to each customer, but I could clearly tell that they treated each customer how Ryan had treated me, as a friend. This is going to be a lengthy review so strap-in guys. However, if you're contemplating purchasing an engagement ring (or any other jewelry for that matter), you should read my review. I was in the market for an engagement ring. I did my due diligence and researched quite extensively anything and everything related to diamonds themselves and diamond purchasing. I shopped around small mom and pop stores in the midwest, looked at wholesale diamond retailers in the diamond district of Chicago and NYC, and looked online in various places specifically for the diamond itself. I wanted the highest quality for the best price as any purchaser would. Then I came into Shane Co. in Fishers, IN. I will break this review down into the two most important factors: Quality vs. Price and Customer Service. Customer Service: Part 1: The first thing I was pleasantly surprised by was how knowledgeable my salesman, Ben, was in the world of diamonds. I've seen YouTube videos of salesmen at Tiffany Co. completely make up facts and figures about diamonds and have far less diamond related knowledge than Ben. When I make big purchases, I do a ton of research beforehand, and Ben (as he should have) knew much much more than I and taught me some interesting things along the way. He listened to my story, what I find most important in a diamond, the specifications I was looking for, and pulled me out a few stones. Through the process, he was never pushy, allowed me to take a few side by side comparison pictures of the diamonds, and allowed me plenty of time to ruminate on which stone I wanted to purchase. In the end, I received the perfect diamond which out-shined competitors in both quality and price which I will discuss below. Part 2: The warranties and service agreements on purchased jewelry through Shane Co. (especially diamond engagement rings) are awesome and robust. They cover thorough cleanings and inspections, replacement of any stones falling out, etc. for free. After purchasing my engagement ring and proposing to my girlfriend (now fiance), I ran into a little snafu which potentially would have invalidated my warranty. Queue manager Heidi. Receptive to my obvious distraught at potentially invalidating a warranty clause, Heidi went above and beyond to ensure my satisfaction and rectify the situation at no cost to me. Unbelievable receptiveness to the customer's needs displayed and I am extremely happy with her assistance throughout that matter. Quality vs. Price As I said before, I had searched far and wide for a diamond at many many different places and just did not find the right quality diamond with the price point. First thing, Shane Co. has expert diamond graders in-house, most of whom have been trained directly by the most well-known and credited grading organization GIA. Some of their diamonds they have GIA certified and some they do the grading themselves. The point is, their grading is very close to the GIA certification you would get. No pulling the wool over the sheeps eyes here. Grading is slightly subjective in some respects so a color rating of an F from GIA may have been graded as an E or a G by Shane, but for the most part, will be very close. Ben pulled out a princess cut 0.99 ct. E color SI2 Good cut diamond for me to look at. I was shocked when looking at this diamond. It was completely eye clean from every angle, completely colorless, had a strong scintillation and fire, etc. Price was $4700. This diamond was sent to GIA after purchasing and came back at higher grading marks actually. It came back as a D (completely colorless) and an SI1 clarity. The price point was nearly as good as some online distributors with the same 4C grade, but the online diamonds were not eye clean and visible inclusions were clear. This was easily the highest quality diamond for that price point I had ever come across in months of searching. Bought the diamond the day after I saw it and the rest is history. TLDR; Shane Co. has an amazing staff, fantastic products, and very good price points. read more

I don't think I'd go anywhere else for jewelry of any kind, especially diamonds! If you get the pleasure of meeting Marvin, you won't go to anyone else! Marvin sold us our wedding rings 8 years ago, and we got to visit with him again this weekend when searching for a new setting. While we looked, he had my existing rings cleaned. He even went to the back to retrieve more options since we weren't finding the exact band we wanted. Shane Co. offers free lifetime warranties on their jewelry, and you get free cleaning/maintenance. When you're looking at diamonds, they let you use the jeweler's loop to look into the stone and see any inclusions for yourself! I've also been to Shane Co. for fashion jewelry and have made other purchases here. Every time the service is excellent, and the store is beautiful! (I mean, it's jewelry, how can it not be??) One time I broke off part of my Colts diamond/sapphire ring and the small stones were missing. I brought it in to be repaired, and it was all free - good as new! When you are switching out your setting or even upgrading your stone, you get credit back on the ones you're turning in! How great is that? I won't go anywhere else! read more

Let me start by saying that I haven't been inside this store for at least four years. The Husband and I visited the store to find my engagement ring and, while we did find the setting of my dreams, it was a highly stressful situation. The salewoman that helped us was beyond pushy. I told her what we wanted from the very beginning and she kept suggesting different things that were in no way my style or taste. I appreciate that she may have been trying to get me to try a few different settings to find out what I liked, but once I did that a few times she should have known to cut it out. Honestly, here is how it went: Me: "Ooh, could I see that setting please?" Her: "Don't you like the one next to it better?" Me: "No, actually, I really like that one." Her: "Try it on anyway. If you don't like it, I will get out the one you really want to see." I felt like it was a gimmick every single time. It was frustrating for The Husband (then The Fiance) and me. He did eventually purchase the setting from Shane, but did not purchase a stone there. We went back one time after getting engaged to have the ring cleaned and it was a disaster. Salespeople trying to get us to buy things, hovering around us while we waited, and then them sitting us in the lobby to move us "out of the way while they worked". It was sort of awful.
