Few weeks went by and I had forgotten about it and accepted it probably just wasn't in the stars for me to get a collector's watch at retail. Then Joe Moyer reaches out to me. We talk and he asks me about myself and if I was still interested in the watch. I know it doesn't sound like much but I think it's more about what it didn't sound like. Well, it may take a few weeks for all kinds of reasons like ordering materials, the artist has a backlog... etc? If you want 'quick' you should go to a commercial, boring, big box jeweler. Ok, mini rant over. Let's talk about Mark and the work he has done for me and my husband. My husband wanted to have a custom engagement ring made for me. He had a design in mind and a recommendation from a family member to see Mark. Mark gave great advice on sizing, diamond quality and integrity of the band design. He even showed my husband the difference between Russian and Israeli cut diamonds (um, huge difference). Without Mark's advice I would have gotten a ring from somewhere else that needs adjusting all the time (I had a lot of single prong stuff in mind for the band, bad idea) . Mark can also order directly from a manufacturer, which is what we did for our wedding bands. It's cheaper than custom and, like another reviewer said, the prices are clearly stated in the manufacturer's ordering book at market prices. In the end the design I wanted had already been made - so why have it done at a custom price? I appreciated Mark's honesty and transparency on that decision. Lastly, Mark and his wife are kind and fair people. No pressuring you into something you don't want or can't afford. We had a great buying experience for all three purchases so far.

I agreed and entered into a verbal contract with a lady at the front for a watch resizing (her…read moretelling me the price and me agreeing and handing over the watch). Upon returning, she rang me up for %150 of the original price, due to the watch being "more difficult than anticipated" (I was still out of the store in less than 8 minutes). She did not let me know at any point they were going to change the service required and add on the watch specialist charge. Had that been communicated, I would have gone to Robert Goodman, another local Zionsville Jewler, who resizes free of charge (highly reccomend him). Althought it was still relatively inexpensive, it was a breach of our contract and there was a lack of communication on their side. Which shouldn't happen at all. Furthermore, the staff lost a piece of my watch during the resizing (one of my pins) and had kept that information from me, until I spoke up after receving the watch back. Although again, it was a relatively small piece, the principal and integrity of the matter still should be held in high regard, even with the little things. After all this happened I asked them to honor the original price and was met with a no. Their other reviews are stellar, I just wish I was met with that same standard today, but unfortunately I was not.
