I wanted a sapphire engagement ring and was pleased with the selection at Shane Co. First we looked at dark blue sapphires, and couldn't find just the right stone, the sales clerk then brought out a Kentucky blue sapphire. It was gorgeous and just perfect for my ring. I just fell in love with that stone. We purchased the stone, the ring, and a wedding band to match. The stone was set beautifully and I loved my ring, and all the compliments it brought. About a year later we purchased matching earrings. Another year later, I noticed my beautiful sapphire had a nick in it. We returned to Shane company and they said they would replace it without question. While I felt sad to have to have the stone replaced, I found another one I loved. It was a different cut than my original stone, but they modified my setting and sat the stone at no charge. OK, this stone was a bit larger, so we did have to pay the difference in cost, but that's only fair. I love my revamped ring. When Shane Co. says they are "able to offer you a trade-in allowance for your second-hand jewelry, based on the prevailing fair market value of its gemstones and metal", DO NOT BELEIVE IT. I recently went to this store with a diamond ring I originally purchased for around $5000, they offered an insulting offer of $700. When I had explained to sales woman that I wanted to do an exchange for the ring & in turn purchase a new ring in their store, I should have known they were not interested in making an offer on my ring when she asked how much "out of pocket" would I be interested in spending toward a ring in their store. When she asked this question, I should have known they were not interested in making me a descent offer for my ring, they were more interested in my was in my pocket. Complete shisters! read more

I am extremely particular and value high level customer service. I was referred to Shane Company and was told to see Julie specifically. I met with Julie and expressed my extreme concern over people handling my grandmothers wedding ring which is now mine. Julie and the remaining staff was so absolutely amazing I went in to get my ring inspected and dipped. I was so impressed with the service and products I bought my finance his ring, he bought me a diamond band, thenI went back for diamond studs and found 2 more bands I purchased. They have a great layaway program too so when you fall in love with something you can spread out a few payments. I have had them size multiple items of my grandmothers and found a company I can trust. I also learned about their diamond and jewelry "buy back" program where you can trade up at anytime for the same value of your original purchase. My now fiancé bought my engagement ring last week with Miranda he's a man of few words but he seemed to like her. The ring he purchased wasn't "me" we went in tonight to find the ring I love. We worked with Ross. He made us feel comfortable as soon as we walked in. He showed us multiple diamonds that were our price range it was nice to be shown what we could afford and nothing else. Its nice to shop somewhere where you're not being pressured into buying something you cannot afford. I felt like I was such a pain for him. I kept going back and forth on what band and diamond I would get. Went into Shane to browse some rings. Really want a middle finger ring light enough for everyday use and with an intricate design that has my birthstone. Yes I realize this ring is in my mind but I needed inspiration to either custom design it or see if maybe there was the ring for me waiting...as soon as you walk in the direction to take is kind of odd. There is a waiting area with baked goods and coffee and a big please take our umbrella and return it when you can rack. How trusting...?? So when you figure out to turn, you are hit with your first sales rep. You tell them you want to browse. They aren't too pushy here at all, but....you are being watched very closely lol. It is good because it helps the confused who come in to get a gift. But what I needed was not good customer service, it was more of a good selection. Nothing caught my eye. There are options to custom make with the stones they offer but the ring selection was just boring. Keep hunting. read more

Walked in today for a cleaning and inspection on my wife's engagement ring. We were told it would be a 2 day wait since it needed to be replayed. Ross then went back to the jeweler Jeff who was able to get it done in 10 minutes. This was huge for my wife and I since we live out of state and our nearest Shane Co. is a 2.5 hr drive. I am continually impressed with their level of customer service even after the sale. I am definitely not a high spending customer, but they treat you the best all the same. read more

Back on January 30th I upgraded me wife's diamond to a princess cut 1.75 shane classic. Without going into too much more detail, this was a big purchase. I originally bought my wife's first diamond here and Shane Co. Traded it in. NOW HERE IS THE REASON I AM WRITING A REVIEW. I know live in IOWA, and looked at a couple of diamonds that i thought she might like then made a call to the Olivette store and spoke with my new best friend Amy. now please understand i was going to upgrade but I needed someone that was going to take their time explaining to me my options. Amy spent an hour with me and I decided I was going to St. louis, we made an appointment and i arrived at 10am on Saturday morning. She spent 3 hours with my wife, son and daughter and made my our dream come true! Service in this space is key and we received it in droves. We bought a new diamond and a new band and they had it ready for us in just 3 hours. They did this as we were returning home to DSM the next day! 2 stars = meh, which is exactly how we felt. We shopped for an engagement ring at Shane Co after being drawn in by their advertisements for the extensive selection, bigger bang for your buck, and no hassle sales experience. They did not have a ring with the element I wanted (a bezel setting) and said they could not customize a ring to add that element. Since that particular element was off the table, we gave some other options that I liked so we could see what selection they did have. The sales experience was low-pressure, but our salesperson mostly pulled products outside the style parameters we gave and had difficulty working within our desired budget. Should just be "OK": My husband bought me a lovely solitaire diamond white gold ring to go with my original narrow, small band in 2006. This was not his first purchase. It was a delightful experience and we love the ring! At the time of purchase they offered to rhodium plate my yellow god band to match for free. Whenever I took my rings in for them to inspect the solitaire and clean and do the plating on it they always did a complimentary plating on the band. At one point I went to them (when they were still on Brentwood) and the salesperson said they would be charging me. I said that no they wouldn't and I would go elsewhere to get it taken care of since they no longer were honoring their agreement. She checked with someone and was told to put it in my notes that I was to have that done as a complimentary service. For years, even once they moved to Olivette, there was no problem. The notes were in their computer files. I went in today (2015) to have the ring inspected, both rings cleaned and leave them for plating. The salesman (Albert) informed me there were no notes and it would be $40. I informed him I would continue to have them service the ring I bought there, but would take all business and referrals elsewhere. He said, "They told us to stop offering that. We're losing money." He was polite, but never apologized nor wavered. Well, ShaneCo, we have purchased several items from you over the years and referred countless customers to you...so instead of losing money you will lose customers! If a company that prides itself on service cannot honor a verbal, then written (and suddenly non-existent) commitment to take care of both of my rings as THEY offered to, then I, as a small business owner, would have to say you have dropped the ball on this one! REVISION TO ABOVE REVIEW: 9/3/15 I was contacted by Dan Koch, assistant manager at Shane Co yesterday via email. He did not have my phone# and wanted to discuss the above review. The phone call was pleasant and he was very genuine and sincere in his apology for how my visit to the store turned out on Tuesday. He asked if I would come in early to pick up the ring I had left to be cleaned, inspected, and rhodium plated and that he wanted to make it right for us. He truly did apologize several times during the conversation. My husband and I returned today and he greeted us when we walked in and showed me how he had made sure that the note didn't become "lost" again in our file with them and how the note was in both my account with them and my husband's. (I didn't even know we had two accounts with them:) Then he brought my solitaire out to us and asked if he could take my wedding band back to the jeweler to have it cleaned and plated. After he had gotten that done he offered to have my husband's wedding band shaped back to round and clean and polish it! When my husband saw a necklace that he wanted to get me for our anniversary, Daniel showed it to us and when we decided to purchase it he gave us a 10% discount. All of this to say that when it was brought to management's attention how unhappy a customer I was...they were quick to respond and Dan was a wonderful spokesperson for a company that prides itself on customer service! Last weekend, we went back to have it resized and to look around for possible wedding bands. Not only were they accommodating for our crunched timeline, but we had the pleasure of having Amy assist us. Everyone there is friendly and helpful, but Amy ROCKS! She listens, pays attention and picks up cues on your preferences to help find the perfect ring...or in our case, rings. Me and my fiancé had such a great experience at this Shane co. Josh helped us so much, was very friendly and helped us in a any way plus he was very personable. So the reason we had to come in was because my fiancé had a engagement ring which I gave her but the center diamond fell out and when I purchased it I forgot to purchase a warranty plan. But we decided to go by and just look around to see if we found anything and we did. We bought my engagement ring over 10 years ago. Recently I lost the main diamond to my ring and had to have it replaced. I worked with Dan at the Brentwood location. He took care of me and stayed in contact over the 10 days it took to settle with my insurance and to get the replacement diamond.
