We get all our jewelery here. It is far from my house, but the drive is well worth it. They must have some magical lighting as their stones always radiat so much fire. I am glad I don't win the lottery. If I did I would buy most of the jewelry here. We came here to get my wifes wedding ring cleaned up and the gentlemen was very kind. He brought a concern up that we hadn't been there in a long time, but then when we mentioned me getting myself a ring, he found it and was able to update the notes to reflect we did the right thing. After he showed us some self cleaning kits and had some really good stories about his wife and family. I was ignored for the first five minutes when I walked in. As soon as I was acknowledged the staff member told me I should check out their reviews on yelp, which I thought was odd. Now looking, I see they have hidden all the bad reviews or had them removed... I was looking forward to a great experience yet left extremely disappointed. The staff seemed irritated at my presence, and as soon as I told them my budget for an engagement ring (which was $10,000) they acted like it wasn't going to be enough. I got passed to another employee who seemed a bit kinder than the first, yet showed me 2 rings (both over my price range) and said if I wanted anything I was looking for I would have to raise my budget and custom make it. I had a very disappointing experience with Shane Co. I expected a smooth and professional process, but instead I dealt with long wait times, inconsistent communication, and a general lack of attention to detail. The product I received also didn't match the level of quality I was promised, and getting the issue addressed was far more difficult than it should have been. For the price and reputation, I truly expected better. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend Shane Co based on my experience. (My story) I wanted to start off by saying, I am usually not someone that goes out of their way to make a review or comment after the first incident, I'd rather handle it myself, but now that there have been several incidents I thought it was my duty to share my experience, so others would be educated when shopping here (a business that has exceeded 50 years of service). My girlfriend at the time and I were looking at some engagement rings and since the two of us are originally from here we grew up, listening to the commercial, "now you have a friend in the diamond business Shane Co. company on Scottsdale Road 1 mile south of Bell Road open weekdays till eight Saturday and Sundays till five online at shanecocompany.com". All the reviews established that Shane Co was an excellent establishment with years of service to back it up, long story short, we found a ring that would be assembled, and some parts would have to be ordered, but that was no big deal. Next day, when my girlfriend was not with me, I went back to Shane Co and purchased the ring. I opted into text message notifications only and what I thought was a note put on the account to notify other employees not to call, but what would you know? Following the next day, I am laying in bed with my soon to be fiancé and receive a phone call from an unknown number and thinking it is someone from Work, I answer and is a representative from Shane Co and immediately announces that, I quickly get up "which added some suspicion to my girlfriend" and the employee continues to talk about one of the parts that was on order for the ring. completing my conversation, I received a text message that the ring would be ready the next day. My girlfriend and I share our location, which obviously I did not want her to find out I was going to Shane Co to pick up the ring and in my head, had the expectation and was reassured that it would be a quick pick up and go. Arriving at Shane Co one of the employees came out, and I explained why I was there, and the ring was brought to me, may I add that the ring was over $7000. Examining the ring I noticed that two smaller diamonds from the hidden halo were MISSING one right next to the other advising the employee, and she said, "get out of here" like she did not believe me, and stated she has no idea how that past inspection and honestly me either. I do not know what their inspection consist of, but it was not done properly on my engagement ring. The employee went to the back and showed someone unknown who and stated that if I could wait 30 extra minutes that she could have the ring complete. I advised the employee that my location was off and that it was not OK for this to happen, she even stated well tonight you might have to propose... after waiting 30+ minutes, the ring was brought to me for another inspection and immediately identifying the job was rushed due to the solder/burn marks behind the diamonds on the gold, which caused the replaced diamonds to appear darker than the rest. Being there now over an extensive period of time. I went back home and ended up not being able to have the proper proposal that was planned and had to propose that night in haste. I still was upset, but not at the point of making a review... Shane Co placed another order for the same halo to be replaced, which I was OK with but again this was taking up more of my time, and Shane Co is not in proximity of our residence. I was assured for the second time that the halo could be delivered in a couple of days and did not receive a text message for another couple of weeks. Once the halo was in, my now fiancé went to have the ring fixed and waited over 30 minutes to even speak to anyone about the ring and finally once speaking to someone it was like pulling tooth and nail due to no notes being added on the account which took even longer to figure out. Concluding her conversation, Shane Co stated the ring would take six days to fix. Stated before, I will unfortunately not be returning to Shane Co company, the only reason that they deserve a one star for me instead of zero stars was one of the employees cared enough to engrave the ring, but nothing else. This story should be taking into consideration before buying any jewelry from "your friend in the diamond business". read more

Upon opening you cannot tell but under light the cross is a shiny finis but it is so scratched and it was a gift I gave to my daughter this morning for her baptism and didn't have time to get anything else so stuck with this almost $500 necklace that horrible craftsmanship. Overpriced for a small piece of jewelry and the scratching and scuffing is horribl. Expected more, it is an important day and suppose to be a gift a symbolism on a special day so I chose a higher end place but so disappointed cant even explain. My bf and I went to Shane Co to update my studs but they didn't have the size we wanted so the young guy (can't remember name but young guy with braces) ordered the stones from a different store and scheduled us to come back 3 days later. We showed up to the appointment to find out that one of the stones didn't arrive. Came in today to get my ring and my husbands ring cleaned! I first looked at engagement rings over 3 years ago and as soon as we visited my husband and I knew we wanted our rings here. Warrantee is great, they have a fantastic selection, and the people who work here are incredibly nice and helpful. You can get your ring resized and cleaned without cost for life. I called to see if they do gold plating and received Sam, they were very nice and said it's $60 at most but it is usually less. When I got in later that day I was assisted by a very serious and straightforward employee who told me it'll cost more but since you were quoted the $60, we'll honor it. They did not provide me the karat options when I requested yellow gold. I paid $60 per earring, coming out to $240 for both pairs of earrings. I was told they'll be ready in 5 days. When I came to pick them up, I was helped by Karla who was much kinder, patient, and helpful than the previous employee. When she showed me them I was not happy with the coating. It was a champagne hue rather than the yellow gold I wanted. She told me they can redip them and spoke to the jewelers and her office. She came back to say it would not cost extra, and they'll redip them in 18 karat instead of the 14 karat they originally dipped them in. I was so happy. She made everything right. She told me they'll be ready tomorrow, and when I came back to pick them up, they were perfect the second time around! Thank you Karla! If you're curious about their collection, they have beautiful pieces, I was eyeing a pearl necklace with diamonds which I was happy to see was $500. I might be back for that. They have all kinds of gemstones too with different golds - yellow, white, rose and of course silver as well. There is a special area dedicated just for engagement rings. There are seperate areas in the building, the jewelers room, where the pieces are made. The cashier all the way in the back where the restrooms are at. The sitting area to see and compare pieces and/or fittings, and of course the showroom. Also, walk-ins are welcomed, you don't need to make an appointment. Recently my center stone fell out of the setting. GONE! I searched high and low and turned the house upside down easily 100 times. I panicked. I brought my ring in to have a small diamond replaced located along the split band. They did replace the missing diamond however they also swapped out a side Diamond under my center stone that had absolutely nothing wrong with it for one that did not look authentic and was visibly smaller than the other side. A day later the small Diamond they didn't need to do anything with had fallen out. My fiance brought the ring back in and they said they would fix it. They put in still a smaller Diamond that sets deeper into the ring And has a scratch in the gold. They also did something that has caused a prong on the side, in yet another area that did not need work done to have a sharp edge and snag on everything.
