Including tip, we paid about $100 for 3 people: 1 ordered the ribs and chicken 1 ordered the ribs and pork 1 ordered 2 meat plate with ribs and pork First, the good: The pork was excellent. Juicy, chopped well, and God sauce. If I go back, I will order this and a pop/tea along with baked beans. The baked beans were pretty awesome...mine had little pockets of brown sugar! Yum! The mediocre: The chicken was pretty good in moisture and flavor and chunk size. However, it was very strong on black pepper...not our cup of tea but if you like a chicken with your black pepper, enjoy! The coleslaw was just meh. Like, average kind of sauce, no real lean towards sweet or sour. The mac n cheese taste like every other store bought or chain Mac n cheese. The bad: The ribs. The ribs were bad. I mean, BAD. First off, they smelled of charcoal/lighter fluid. Nothing screams appetizing ribs like a good chemical smell! Second, they literally tasted like charcoal soaked in light fluid that was then stopped with sauce. Bottom line, none of us could eat or enjoy the ribs. The service was annoying. This is mainly becuase they told one member of my party that substitution was not allowed...except that person always substitutes there. The absolute worst thing though, and I do not think this place should advertise as a BBQ joint because of it is: - no brisket....NONE!!! - NO CORNBREAD. I can almost understand the lack of brisket on the menu but come on, no cornbread at a ribshack??? So yeah, I would recommend the pork and the baked beans, and a small scoop of the chicken. I ordered a half of chicken the chicken was extra dry that I three it away. I had garlic toast with it and it had salt on it. I had to throw that away because it was so much salt on it I had to hurry up and drink some water. I don't know who puts salt on toast. The macaroni tastes like the macaroni used in school that was in a box with the cheese that was powder. The peach cobbler was great. Thoroughly enjoyed our date lunch today. We got here shortly after opening, which meant a quiet restaurant and plenty of tables. Around 1145 they usually pick up and sometimes it may be a bit of a wait to find a table, but I find it worth it. My wife had the BBQ chicken, which was chunked and off the bone, very flavorful and not messy, which allowed her to eat it with a fork. Different than other places, but a nice change. I had the Rib Plate and while the ribs were good, especially with the spicy sauce, the okra was simply excellent. I don't know who was in the kitchen, but they did a wonderful job! Normally we both leave something on the plate after we are done eating, but not today. Thank you for a great meal. read more

The food comes out of the kitchen very fast. Delivered to your table. Their house BBQ sauce is extremely good and available for takeout purchase. I had the 1/2 rib and chopped BBQ chicken, excellent. The fried okra was undercooked and just terrible. The ribs have no flavor and seem like they were just cooked too quickly. The pulled pork was decent enough and the chicken tenders were probably fine for a child but still not good. Definitely not going back to this establishment again. First time trying authentic southern bbq and pleasantly surprised! Cannot go wrong with sweet potato fries. The ribs and brisket were very soft and tender. But I'm very happy we finally got a location that's closer to home the only location I've heard of was in Evans and it's bit far off from my house. I was totally disappointed with the smoked wings at this location. It was embarrassing how small and tough the wings were. If you can't provide a decent product, take it off the menu. Was really excited to try Shane's Rib Shack and was so bummed out when the food arrived. We ordered a family platter to go, it was a lot of food for just my husband and I. But maybe not for a family of 4 as advertised. the wings were tiny.. Caught us off guard, we did get fried okra as well, and they were soggy so we must have got the friend okra that's been sitting there, and the mac and cheese was just not that great. 3/5 stars read more

Tried the BBQ pork and chicken plates as take out. The meat was a bit tough and dry. The flavor was ok. The ribs were much better than the rest of the entrees. The price seemed a bit much for the portion size and quality. At pick up, the order was ready on time, correct and the server was friendly. First, let me start off by saying, the service was great. Every time I come here the staff is always friendly, helpful and always have a smile on their face. I'm originally from the Low County part of of South Carolina (close to Charleston) so it's hard to impress me with barbecue. For the most part Shane's hit the mark every time. The barbecue chicken is always so good. It is literally always falling off the bone and full of flavor. I absolutely love their rewards program. Yesterday, I was able to get two free meals using my points that I collected. I still have points leftover. Now, that I told you all the good things about this establishment, here are the bad. The chicken tenders are awful! They are always either over cooked or under cooked.The ribs have a rubbery texture almost like they are under cooked. I used to enjoyed them, but now I would rather go to a place like Chili's, Outback or Ruby Tuesday. Their "chopped" chicken has the tendency to be a little misleading. Most people think is similar to the pull pork until they see the picture of it. These are the only things that I feel they would need to work on. The honey bbq and mustard ones are delish. Tasted great with no sauce but I was feeling extra savory and these sauces hit the spot. Came with 2 sides. I got the Mac and cheese and sweet potato fries. Nothing special about the sides but tastes good. My husband got the rib and wing plate. A TON of meat which made him go into a food coma. He rather enjoyed the moist and tender ribs. Normally my food orders are delicious with very few mistakes but tonight was an off night I guess. I spent $80 on six people and the smoked chicken begged for a moment of silence for it's second death. It was dry and very little meat wasn't charred to an inedible state. I usually love the food at this location. However , tonight I ordered the half chicken meal with two sides . The chicken was so small it look like a tiny chick had been killed and thrown on the pit !. The chicken had a great taste but it was so tiny ! The staff is nice but tonight two girls cleaned and sprayed a bleach cleaner on the tables and mopped while we ate . It was very disruptive to our meal. One of the girls actually stood in the booth seat to lower the window shades . Her dirty feet were actually on the furniture . The strong smell of bleach was overpowering . We ate quickly and left because I got a runny nose due to the cleaner and started to get shortness of breath . I hope they do a better job next time . We most likely will return and I will get the loaded fries with chicken . I had this once and it was great. read more

Hooray shane's here. And just as tasty as their restaurant on Washington road. Smells of smoked meat pulverize the nostrils as soon as you pull up the staff is friendly and know the brand. Located in the rapidly developing area of gateway plaza in grovetown Georgia. I have a feeling more parking will be needed in this area in the very near future. However this restaurant is busy from open to close. The place is spotless and new. I wonder if they will have the annual rib give away just as the washington road location. Anyway give them a go. I used to love Shane's before covid. You used to be able to get a meal with a pound of meet, 2 half racks of ribs, 4 sides, chicken tenders and wings for about $50. You'd get home and it would still be warm and the meat juicy. Well today we placed an order, no ribs with the meal, only two sides, and the meat was all dried out. The fries were all limp and cold. The meat was cold and dry. I really was just completely unimpressed. And it cost me $10 more to get less food with less quality. I deleted my app and won't be going back. Sorry folks. read more
