Amazing dumplings! I stumbled upon this place, just randomly driving and decided to come and check it out. The dumplings were absolutely delicious. They were super fresh and you can tell that they were just made in house. They have an open kitchen concept where you can see them making the dumplings. The crab and pork were absolutely exquisite. I would absolutely come again, and I will be bringing my friends and family to enjoy and try some more options from the menu.

Wow! Doesn't look like much from the outside but the interior is awesome. Done in modern Asian fusion the inside is welcoming and almost sterile. Great seating arrangements and wall art along with hanging paper lamps and Asian themed lighting. Nice menu selections and you order on paper slips handed to very attentive and pleasant server. Food comes out daily quick and is hot and tasty. Lots of drink selections also favoring Asian fusion again. Prices are decent and portions nice size.

When i looked up soup dumpling tampa and this place popped up, I went with some friends and it didn't disappoint. We arrived and got immediately seated and the menu was full of options. I went with the chicken soup dumplings and chicken hibachi while my friends got shrimp and the pork. The food was quickly brought out after ordering. The table came with soy sauce vinegar and chili oil which helped dress the soup dumplings how we wanted. The place was also decorated nicely. The price wasnt horrible either since its by USF campus! This was worth the drive and worth being the first pop up for tampa soup dumplings!

This was our second time here and the food is consistently so good! Everything comes out fresh and piping hot. The soup dumplings are amazing, and the Udon noodles are another favorite. The Thai tea is also incredible--it genuinely reminds me of the Thai tea we had on the streets of Thailand! The service was great, and the restaurant is always clean and welcoming. This has definitely become one of our staple restaurants in the area. We'll absolutely be back!

5/31/26 These dumplings are the most authentic around. Everything is made from scratch. Hand-pulled dough. No pre-made, frozen dumplings. Pork Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings) - recommend Cucumber salad - adds a fresh crisp between savory dumplings - recommend Pork & Shrimp Won Tons in chili sauce - highly recommend Scallion Pancake Beef Roll - highly recommend Chocolate filled dumplings - my table mate devoured these - highly recommend Tip: Make your own dumpling dipping sauce. Ask for fresh sliced ginger. Pour 2 parts black vinegar + 1 part soy sauce over the ginger. Dip your xi long bao and other dumplings in it. Enjoy! ** Wheelchair accessible

Ordered the soup dumplings, wontons in chili oil, and pan-fried dumplings. The food here should come with a warning label because one bite had me questioning every other dumpling I've ever eaten. I came for dinner...and I left planning my return and wondering if it's socially acceptable to order three rounds of dumplings for one person.

The soup dumplings place pop up in Tampa Bay Area. It is good for the consumer like me. Now I have more choices. Shanghai Dumpling is a good choice for the USF area if you not wish to travel far. The restaurant has decent soup dumplings with a lot soup and thin skin dumplings. One thing I don't like is they may the top of the dumplings too thick in skin. It is not the traditional 16 folds. Bite there like bite a piece of dough. All dumplings is good for in filling. Soup is abandoned in the dumpling. I like the traditional soup dumplings and pan fried dumplings. I don't like the scallops and pork dumplings due to I can't taste the scallops. Service is on point. Food also comes out at expected time.

I literally didn't know this place existed here. It's in the previous hot pot place. And let me tell you that this place is the new neighborhood fav because business is poppin! Our wait time was about 20 minutes and the crowd keeps flowing in. You sign in on the kiosk when you arrive and they text you when your table is ready. Service is pretty fast. The soup dumplings is the obvious winner out of all that we tried. If we do go back we will just get the soup dumplings and the fried rice. Those were our favorites. Staff is friendly and despite the crowd, the place is pretty clean. The tea variety is good and taste is pretty good. Be sure to let your dumplings cool down or split them in half because the are piping hot!!!

Great new spot for dumplings! Ordered the chicken & mushroom dumplings which were okay, lacked a bit of flavor. Also got the wonton soup which was tasty, loved the broth! Beef noodle soup was a standout as well, great noodle texture and tasted authentic. Enjoyed the shrimp udon noodle dish as well, good flavor. Service friendly and attentive. Beautiful ambiance inside, clean and bright. Looking forward to trying XLB next visit.

Who doesn't love potstickers & noodles? For lunch we scurried into Shanghai Dumpling House. The interior was very clean & modern. When we initially arrived they had just opened. We were seated & it was funny to see 4 workers sitting at a back table all just looking down at their IPhones. I kept watching & after a few minutes one looked up. I stared at her & she understood we were sitting & waiting on someone to take our order. So she nudged another worker who then got up to wait on us. Such a sign of the times, lol. We ordered Udon Noodles with chicken, along with pan fried pork potstickers. The udon noodle dish was just average. The potstickers though tasted extremely fresh. I even saw workers behind a window making the dumplings on the spot. Shanghai Dumpling was pretty good. I may return at some point to give them another try.

Really enjoyed our dinner at Shanghai Dumpling! We split some noodles and got an order of pan fried dumplings plus an order of the 6 variety soup dumplings....it was tasty! The restaurant seemed clean and staff was friendly. Highly recommend

I must say, I finally found my go-to dumpling spot! Everything we ordered was so good, and I can't wait to come back. You can actually see the dumplings being made fresh through the kitchen window, which makes the experience even better. The service was great and fast, and every bite was delicious. 10/10! What I ordered: - Shrimp & Pork Xiao Long Bao - Pan-Fried Cabbage & Pork Dumplings - Beef Stir-Fried Udon - Scallion Pancake - Pork & Shrimp Siu Mai

togo orders of wonton have the broth separate for transport. nice!

I have been distraught because my favorite Chinese restaurant but I've been going to for so long closed recently. Finding Shanghai Dumpling House really softened the blow. I've had a chance to try a good deal of their menu and overall I'm impressed. My absolute favorite is the pan fried dumplings, which come with a crispy lattice work on the bottom that is so delicious. I've also tried their pork buns, udon noodles, and wonton. All good. The thing I was most excited about was the soup dumplings and I actually think they are just "OK". They honestly pale in comparison to the pan fried dumplings. But nothing I've had here is bad. I also love how when you get a to-go order everything is put inside of an insulated bag and each soup dumpling is in an individual wrapper that helps contain any soup leakage. Much appreciated!

I waited until I was in the area and tried it. I was so impressed that I made a 2nd visit before I made this review. Located in a strip mall west of 275 on Fletcher, the menu is impressive. Once I disvovered, over 20 years ago, the treasure trove of authentic chinese dishes available at many chinese food places. I seldom order the cookie cutter American versions so many people find familiar. This place has Sichuan and Northern Chinese food. The ambiance is perfect, never too loud. The wait staff are young and pleasant. Very helpful and attentive. Plenty of free parking. My first visit blessed me with two cravable dishes that frolic in my mind joyously. The Handmade Noodles w/ Ginger & Scallìon and the Shrimp Rolls. The noodles made fresh every morning were luxurious on the palate, soft and silky with a perfect amount of heat from the chili oil and a subtle fragrant flavor that wooed the senses. The small crispy Shrimp Rolls bursting with delectable flavors was so enticing. I could devour those non-stop. I also had the Tea Smoked Duck and that is the only item I did not relate to. A bowl of seasoning is provided for you to dip your duck pieces as you ate. The duck alone had no appealing flavor. The flavor came as you dip the duck in the 5 spice. The issue was each bite tasted different, too little spice, too much spice and at times the perfect amount. I would much prefer for it to come flavored and spice by a pro in the kitchen so every bite was good. I tried a Choya Plum wine that was pleasant. My 2nd visit began with Sichuan Crispy Chili Wings. Delightful flavor, tossed with chili's, garlic and cilantro in a spicy sauce. An enjoyable amount of heat, covered in that tasty piquant and crispy sauce. The kicker was the addition of a few chunks of fried potatoes also covered in sauce. My sides were some low mein noodles and an amazing string bean dish stir fried with crispy garlic, minced pork and a chili sauce. A must try item. Again, a dish with spicy heat at a perfect pitch. The main attraction came in a small wok over a lit burner and is Griddle Fish. The same dish is also available in about 10 other protein choices. A fabulous dish that had wonderful textures and flavors. The fish however was mushy inside. Likely made with Swai or Tilapia which I detest since they live their lives in excrement. My fault for not thinking before I ordered since I had so many other choices. Delicious if you can get past the inferior fish quality. The desserts were marvelous. Cream Brulee Cheesecake and Yuzu Beignets. Rich and delectable. Beautifully balanced sweetness factor. Wife loved them! Cravable food is everywhere due to the chemicals fast food places use to trick your brain at the expense of your health. To find food you crave because of cooking mastery and the genius blend of the food, herbs and spices...well that is special. This is a special place. COME GET YA SOME!!

Even when it was brought to the table- the food looks good and promising! I was sat right next to the kitchen and to my astonishment, everyone in the kitchen was speaking Spanish!! I always say, THE BEST CHINESE FOOD is always prepared by CHINESE PEOPLE! Nothing against Spanish cooks, but if I'm coming for AUTHENTIC CHINESE FOOD, I want to know that there's someone back there who grew up eating the food they are preparing! With that being said, you can absolutely taste the Spanish influence! I have NEVER had fried rice that is covered in CILANTRO!! What?! The fried rice tasted like Spanish rice. We also ordered the General Tso chicken NOT SPICY. I heard the cook tell our waiter, "you gave them them the wrong one, you gave them the spicy one, did they say anything about it?" My white rice also had a dead bug in it!!! We didn't say anything because we already knew we would not be coming back here. So we just paid for our $83 bill and left, unsatisfied.. and went straight to Dairy Queen for chicken tenders Very disappointed as I had high hopes for a good Chinese restaurant.
