I literally didn't know this place existed here. It's in the previous hot pot place. And let me tell you that this place is the new neighborhood fav because business is poppin! Our wait time was about 20 minutes and the crowd keeps flowing in. You sign in on the kiosk when you arrive and they text you when your table is ready. Service is pretty fast. The soup dumplings is the obvious winner out of all that we tried. If we do go back we will just get the soup dumplings and the fried rice. Those were our favorites. Staff is friendly and despite the crowd, the place is pretty clean. The tea variety is good and taste is pretty good. Be sure to let your dumplings cool down or split them in half because the are piping hot!!!

Who doesn't love potstickers & noodles? For lunch we scurried into Shanghai Dumpling House. The interior was very clean & modern. When we initially arrived they had just opened. We were seated & it was funny to see 4 workers sitting at a back table all just looking down at their IPhones. I kept watching & after a few minutes one looked up. I stared at her & she understood we were sitting & waiting on someone to take our order. So she nudged another worker who then got up to wait on us. Such a sign of the times, lol. We ordered Udon Noodles with chicken, along with pan fried pork potstickers. The udon noodle dish was just average. The potstickers though tasted extremely fresh. I even saw workers behind a window making the dumplings on the spot. Shanghai Dumpling was pretty good. I may return at some point to give them another try.

I have been distraught because my favorite Chinese restaurant but I've been going to for so long closed recently. Finding Shanghai Dumpling House really softened the blow. I've had a chance to try a good deal of their menu and overall I'm impressed. My absolute favorite is the pan fried dumplings, which come with a crispy lattice work on the bottom that is so delicious. I've also tried their pork buns, udon noodles, and wonton. All good. The thing I was most excited about was the soup dumplings and I actually think they are just "OK". They honestly pale in comparison to the pan fried dumplings. But nothing I've had here is bad. I also love how when you get a to-go order everything is put inside of an insulated bag and each soup dumpling is in an individual wrapper that helps contain any soup leakage. Much appreciated!

Great new spot for dumplings! Ordered the chicken & mushroom dumplings which were okay, lacked a bit of flavor. Also got the wonton soup which was tasty, loved the broth! Beef noodle soup was a standout as well, great noodle texture and tasted authentic. Enjoyed the shrimp udon noodle dish as well, good flavor. Service friendly and attentive. Beautiful ambiance inside, clean and bright. Looking forward to trying XLB next visit.

The service was great, our server was super sweet! She was very attentive and made great recommendations. We went in on a Sunday night and it was pretty slow in there. I'm not a huge fan of the soup dumplings, they weren't memorable in my opinion. I did however really like the pan fried dumplings, the chicken fried rice and the chocolate baos for dessert are an absolute MUST!

Okay, we've been to Shanghai Dumpling House twice in one week, so that should tell you something. The soup dumplings are legit. They're made fresh in-house, and the fillings are generous. The chicken soup dumplings were the star for me: soft wrappers, super flavorful broth inside, and actually packed with filling (not skimpy at all). The chicken and mushroom pan-fried dumplings had that perfect crispy bottom and juicy center. So good. The sauce was strong in vinegar for me so we skipped that . The cucumber appetizer was light and refreshing, with a dab of Sriracha. The chicken udon was comforting and satisfying. The only thing I'd tweak was the fried rice , we had the chicken and vegetable fried rice, it could use a little more seasoning or sauce to give it that extra punch. Now for the two different experiences: Our first visit? Amazing. All our food came out in like 10 minutes, service was on point, and everything felt smooth and efficient. Second visit was a little more... relaxed. We had to get up to let our server know we were ready to order because he was on his phone. Came by every 5 mins while we were still eating (which I personally find kind of distracting), but relaxed when we were done ended up going to the front to pay since the check never came. Not awful, just not as polished as the first time. That said , the place is spacious , clean, modern, and such a great addition to the area. The food quality alone will keep us coming back. Next on the list: the fresh soy milk. Definitely worth trying especially if you're a dumpling person.

Another spot for wifey and I to try. We drove to a Tampa for to have lunch at this place. It's nice a spacious inside with an average noise level. Food came quick. It was delish and very filling. Would come here again.

We heard from @Rachel this place had just opened and decided to pop by for a to go order on our way home. There is plenty of parking. My first impressions were it is spotlessly clean, stylish and spacious. We ordered many items including multiple kinds of soup dumplings, three different pan fried dumplings, siu mai, fried rice and udon noodles. Everything was fantastic even an hour later when we got home! Yoyo provided a homemade soy milk while I waited and it was delicious. She also offered to give us a cucumber salad with our large order and helped me carry everything to the car. Life is good with amazing Shanghai dumplings, made right on site behind a glass window perfect for watching or photographing the process.

Order the shrimp fried rice and see what happens... I ordered it to go as well as ordering a couple items to eat there... As I was eating, the table next to me got their order of shrimp fried rice and I looked at it thinking that it was the most boring, bland-looking white fried rice that I've ever seen and then I realized that that's exactly what I ordered to go... The people next to me took a bite of it and tasted nothing and called the waiter to have it removed... The only reason I didn't do the same is because I have the ingredients at home to hopefully make it taste better, and so I took the easy road and just took it home... But I tasted it and it was just white rice with cooked shrimp tossed in it with no soy sauce and no seasonings of any type... Barely any egg... I took it home and I scrambled three eggs and mixed up some soy sauce, good oyster sauce, sesame oil, water, grated ginger and garlic, a tablespoon of XO sauce, and tossed it in the hot wok with the rice and it made it edible... It was actually freaking delicious... I ordered pork soup dumplings and they arrived in the steamer basket kind of dry like they were made earlier... They had a skin on top, and were a little collapsed... There was nothing delicious about these things... The pork tasted like minced cat food and it did not have a pleasant flavor and neither did the soup that was in there... I almost could not finish it because of the offputting taste... I thought The shrimp soba noodles were OK... Like a fat noodle lo mein... thank God it had flavor but it was not excellent... 50 bucks for lunch with a to-go item... The table next to me asked for another type of fried rice made properly with soy sauce and seasonings but when it came to the table they had that removed as well... These people were not unreasonable because I got to see what they were talking about... I got some good news at Moffitt and thought I would treat myself to a decadent Asian lunch but was very disappointed... The cooks need to taste their food... It seems like they are on auto pilot...

This handmade Xiao long bao, dumpling place has gaining popularity since it opened. We went there for Sunday dinner with friends. A lot of customers were there, a busy night. We ordered a scallop X L bao, pork X L bao, pork pan fried dumpling, and chili sauce dumpling. They all tasted good. Just as good as other handmade dumpling places in town. Nothing really stood out or grabbed my attention. The service was OK considered such a busy night.

Our server was amazing. Super kind and helpful for our first time. If you want some amazing food and dumplings you have to come here. My favorite were the soup dumplings. I can't wait to come back.

I'm glad Shanghai Dumpling House opened up. Now I don't have to go all the way over to Brandon. They did a nice job of remodeling the inside. Inside, they have a nice modern look and feel. Service was decent, with friendly waiters. The food itself was solid. While not quite at the level of Din Tai Fung, it is definitely solid for Tampa. The Soup Dumplings had a decent amount of broth, the pan fried dumplings had a nice crispy exterior, and the menu options were sufficient. I do think the soup dumpling skins can be a bit thinner and the dining tables a little bit bigger. But for Tampa, this is a very solid option :)

    Scott M.

One of the few spots in the Tampa area that serve handmade soup dumplings! Menu is predominantly dumplings, hence the name. Some interesting offerings, like corn juice but unfortunately they were out of it. Overall, it was a good experience, but dumplings feel like more a snack than a meal, to me at least, and order enough and this can quickly get quite expensive.

If we're going Tampa metro then that is a different review altogether. Yummy House is definitely yummy and worth the wait if you messed up and decided to stroll in here at 12pm on a sunday. That's probably the worst time to come in. Literally go any other time and you won't have to wait 30+ minutes for a table. Once you do get in, go extra hard on the dinner sun. The steamers are steaming and the dessert cart has plenty of goodies. Anything on the sizzling and clay pot menu is recommended as is their pan fried noodles and salt & pepper anything. Service is quick, the ambiance is a mix of industrial and Asian banquet. The parking is probably decent on most days, but on Sunday at 12pm; Yeah not so much...

The menu changed, the dim sum courts weren't there, the prices were not overly inflated, and my favorite dishes were as good as I remember them! Yes, inflation has slightly decreased the portions, the prices are slightly increased, but again I enjoyed my lunch! The menu was smaller, there is a lunch menu presented at the table which didn't happen in the past. Keep up with Chinese restaurants? I'll be back even though I've moved and it's like an hour away and I have to go alone unless I can convince somebody that maybe they really do like Chinese food I go alone I need to go alone Will do By the way, if you like Chinese food cooked with fresh ingredients and presented in reasonable portions this is this is your place! Yearly pilgrimage to Beijing House and it was as delicious as always…read more I put in the order at 12 pm online and it said it would be ready at 12:46 pm. They were right on the money, it was ready at 12:47 pm like magic. This time I got the spiced duck instead of the tea duck and I definitely prefer it. My younger son ate a ton so it's a must get. The beef and broccoli and the beef lo mein are both must gets. How do they make the beef so tender? We decided that although the sesame chicken is good, next year we'll try something else. It's fried chicken bites soaked in sauce. My husband liked the spring rolls and wonton soup. We bought an extra side of rice not realizing we'd get rice with the meat dishes so we ended with 3 cartons of rice. I tried the matcha oat milk slush. I love that it's topped with cheese foam. It would be ho hum without. It's on the sweeter side so I definitely need to be in the mood for a sweet drink if I get it again. Parking in the lot is plentiful. It was packed inside so on Christmas I definitely prefer to grab and go. I highly recommend checking this place out.
