    Salt & pepper calamari

We stopped here for dinner on Memorial Day. A lot of local restaurants were closed but YHS was open. We started with some jasmine tea and two appetizers, the egg rolls and salt and pepper calamari. The salt and pepper calamari is delicious! Very meaty and flavorful. I wouldn't get the egg rolls again. They are small and very crispy. I prefer the large ones you usually get from Chinese restaurants. We ordered the XO spicy noodles. They were not spicy at all. Lots of seafood and thick noodles. I ordered the garlic chicken, it had mushrooms and vegetables in it too. They were both ok entrees. The YH in Orlando has a bigger menu and they didn't offer the dish I usually order. The wok sea bass. Our server was attentive but not over friendly or happy. It seemed like they were just there to serve you with zero personality. The restaurant was not very busy at the time we arrived so it was pretty quiet. Parking is out back. There were plenty of spots available. I would return and try new things on the menu.

Yummy house never fails with its dim sum! I liked ordering from a menu rather than just pointing at stuff on a cart, makes it less overwhelming for me. The dumplings and rolls are always a favorite; the wrappers are soft, gummy, and steamed nicely. I also always love the egg tarts, slightly sweet with a flaky crust. A new favorite surprise was the salt and pepper calamari! I even brought some home for family. I don't know why I don't eat dim sum more, it always hits the spot!

I visited Yummy House on a Saturday with a party of 4. We were seated immediately and promptly given menus and drinks. The ordering process may have been too prompt actually because I was not ready. Too many options and I have a hard time deciding. We all ended up sharing most items. I would not leave without a salt and pepper item. We ordered the salt and pepper shrimp and it was amazing. The other couple we were with was all in on Dim Sum and it looked delicious. And as fast as we ordered and ate, we were paying and out the door. Not really a place for a long social dinner or lunch.

Went to YHS China Bistro for the second time. On this Wednesday evening, when we arrived around 7:15 it was busy. We were seated immediately. We ordered tea and appetizers while we decided on dinner. For appetizer we ordered Pan Fried Pork Dumplings which were delicious. For dinner we ordered BBQ Pork Fried Rice, Mongolian Beef and Kung Pao Chicken. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. They have a parking lot in the back of the restaurant.

My parents were craving dim sum and this restaurant seemed to have the best reviews. We ordered our dim sum off the menu instead of carts so ordered too much food. The prices are definitely on the high side for what you receive. My family really liked the duck and Chinese broccoli. The baked pork buns were good but barely had any meat. We liked the pineapple buns and were surprised that they were filled. Everything else was pretty standard flavors - nothing to rave about. Service wasn't bad. Our drinks were refilled in a timely manner and dishes were cleared as we finished dishes.

Had some amazing Chinese food at Yummy House with a dear friend. Some do the best in the bay! I loved everything we shared from the soup dumplings to the bbq pork. It wasn't too greasy and had really good flavor. Our server was good and even though the dumplings didn't come out on time, they brought them out and they were piping hot. Way worth the wait. Definitely had to let them cool down before eating them. The restaurant was nice and clean and we were sat next to a window which had good lighting for a Sunday lunch.

Chicken and broccoli with pork fried rice 17+13 $30 plus tax and it was just OK.

At last I've found really good Chinese food in Tampa! Authentic flavors and elegance cookery in a bold, modern setting.

Great service, and really good food. Large portions too! I was wiht a group of 5, and they had us seated and served very quickly. I ordered the salt and pepper squid appetizer to start with as a share for the table. It was a hit. I ordered the Honey Walnut Shrimp for me and also an order of Garlic Snow Pea Tips. I love them! My dish was excellent with a huge amount of the glazed walnuts I love in this dish. Lots of delicious shrimp too. Shared the snow pea tips with the table, and they were gone in a flash, lol... except for a small amount I brought home for lunch the next day. Can't go wrong with Yummy House!

Ask the Community - YHS China Bistro

Hello! I will be traveling through the Tampa area and am looking to dine at several pushcart-style dim sum restaurants. Does this restaurant CURRENTLY serve lunch with rolling carts? I have read the reviews, but there are different answers.

Call the restaurant and pose the question to them.

    Do they have Gluten-free options?

Is dim sum available every day or just weekends?

    Every day at lunchtime

Can you order dim sum after lunch?

    only up tp 2 pm

Does anyone pick up the phone at this place? I tried to cancel a reservation that requires you to call in but no one picks up the phone?

My favorite place when in the mood for Chinese food. I only go to the place in south Tampa, across from the Village Inn near Kennedy.…

    Do they use MSG?

    No they do not

Do they have dim sum for dinner?

No dim sum carts for dinner. I believe dim sum service ends at 3.

Happiness is a warm embracing chili oil aura eminating from your body. I asked an Asian Foodie…read moregroup for the best places to go and Bejing House was one reply by many. I waited until I was in the area and tried it. I was so impressed that I made a 2nd visit before I made this review. Located in a strip mall west of 275 on Fletcher, the menu is impressive. Once I disvovered, over 20 years ago, the treasure trove of authentic chinese dishes available at many chinese food places. I seldom order the cookie cutter American versions so many people find familiar. This place has Sichuan and Northern Chinese food. The ambiance is perfect, never too loud. The wait staff are young and pleasant. Very helpful and attentive. Plenty of free parking. My first visit blessed me with two cravable dishes that frolic in my mind joyously. The Handmade Noodles w/ Ginger & Scallìon and the Shrimp Rolls. The noodles made fresh every morning were luxurious on the palate, soft and silky with a perfect amount of heat from the chili oil and a subtle fragrant flavor that wooed the senses. The small crispy Shrimp Rolls bursting with delectable flavors was so enticing. I could devour those non-stop. I also had the Tea Smoked Duck and that is the only item I did not relate to. A bowl of seasoning is provided for you to dip your duck pieces as you ate. The duck alone had no appealing flavor. The flavor came as you dip the duck in the 5 spice. The issue was each bite tasted different, too little spice, too much spice and at times the perfect amount. I would much prefer for it to come flavored and spice by a pro in the kitchen so every bite was good. I tried a Choya Plum wine that was pleasant. My 2nd visit began with Sichuan Crispy Chili Wings. Delightful flavor, tossed with chili's, garlic and cilantro in a spicy sauce. An enjoyable amount of heat, covered in that tasty piquant and crispy sauce. The kicker was the addition of a few chunks of fried potatoes also covered in sauce. My sides were some low mein noodles and an amazing string bean dish stir fried with crispy garlic, minced pork and a chili sauce. A must try item. Again, a dish with spicy heat at a perfect pitch. The main attraction came in a small wok over a lit burner and is Griddle Fish. The same dish is also available in about 10 other protein choices. A fabulous dish that had wonderful textures and flavors. The fish however was mushy inside. Likely made with Swai or Tilapia which I detest since they live their lives in excrement. My fault for not thinking before I ordered since I had so many other choices. Delicious if you can get past the inferior fish quality. The desserts were marvelous. Cream Brulee Cheesecake and Yuzu Beignets. Rich and delectable. Beautifully balanced sweetness factor. Wife loved them! Cravable food is everywhere due to the chemicals fast food places use to trick your brain at the expense of your health. To find food you crave because of cooking mastery and the genius blend of the food, herbs and spices...well that is special. This is a special place. COME GET YA SOME!!

Even when it was brought to the table- the food looks good and promising! I was sat right next to the kitchen and to my astonishment, everyone in the kitchen was speaking Spanish!! I always say, THE BEST CHINESE FOOD is always prepared by CHINESE PEOPLE! Nothing against Spanish cooks, but if I'm coming for AUTHENTIC CHINESE FOOD, I want to know that there's someone back there who grew up eating the food they are preparing! With that being said, you can absolutely taste the Spanish influence! I have NEVER had fried rice that is covered in CILANTRO!! What?! The fried rice tasted like Spanish rice. We also ordered the General Tso chicken NOT SPICY. I heard the cook tell our waiter, "you gave them them the wrong one, you gave them the spicy one, did they say anything about it?" My white rice also had a dead bug in it!!! We didn't say anything because we already knew we would not be coming back here. So we just paid for our $83 bill and left, unsatisfied.. and went straight to Dairy Queen for chicken tenders Very disappointed as I had high hopes for a good Chinese restaurant.

We ordered the Spicy Boiled Beef, which is very spicy, so if you don't like spicy food make sure to let them know.
