They had a lot of local brews and my cider was local too from MA--it was really good and refreshing. It was busy for a weeknight, so I think this is a good spot for locals! The portion was pretty big, and the server offered a takeaway container for my leftovers, and I opted for a plastic bag instead since the newspaper already made it quite convenient. Would definitely go back here again, especially to check out the live music for myself.

We asked the manager for some napkins to prop up the wobbly table and he said (quote) "Why don't you tell your kid not to stand on his chair" and walked away. The kid in question was literally sitting in his chair with one foot against the table. We explained to the manager the impact of what he said, and gave him multiple opportunities to apologize. We get it: its St Patrick's Day in an Irish bar and it's stressful. But instead of recognizing that he snapped: he doubled down and tried to convince us that his language fine, and that we were in the wrong for calling him out. I even talked with him an hour later, after it had cooled off, and he continued to be aggressive and dismissive. A bad manager is one thing. But our server didn't acknowledge the awkwardness (even as other families watched in shock), just trying to rush us out. The food was probably the worst it's ever been at Stone's, which raises questions of why. It's understandable to have a bad day, it's *not* ok to set the tone for your staff and establishment that berating your customers, unprompted, is acceptable.

The French onion soup hit the spot and was some of the best I've ever had. Rich beef broth, tender onions, nice and hot, and of course perfectly melted cheese. We shared a patty melt with onion rings. The patty melt was overdone - we ordered medium but it was beyond well done. Still flavorful but would have preferred it as ordered. They had a large patio which must be nice in the summer. A lot of the photos showed it being in a shopping mall, but those must be old, because it is a standalone restaurant.
