    Gratin potatoes

The muscles were good and it was a great portion for one of their smaller plates. The broth at the bottom of the bowl was a bit salty for my taste. Followed up with the scallops and they were okay. Had them with the gratin potatoes which tasted like cheesy potatoes. Bartender was friendly and swift.

Still cozy, with great food and service. My burger was cooked perfectly but the fries were on the too salty side today. Still yummy.

Recently, I had the opportunity to meet up with a former colleague and friend at Stone's Public House -- mostly because it's roughly halfway between where we live. But I know from past experience the (mostly comfort) food is good. It fit the bill perfectly for this get together. I love the eclectic ambiance. It's definitely an old, historic building -- but there are modern comforts mixed in with the old. The staff is great, and I would describe the food as "good." Nothing fancy or exceptional, but always good. I had clam chowder and a salad while my friend had a burger. We were both very happy with our meals. Stone's Public House is the kind of place I'd always be happy to visit when comfort/pub food is what I am in the mood for.

New England charm with delicious food. 1. Go into the bar area 2. Sit by the fireplace 3. Order a beverage and food 4. Absorb the atmosphere

    Seafood Stew

Let me tell you that I went to this place particularly for the seafood stew (Cioppino). I've tried this dish in many places, even in San Francisco, CA where this dish was created and it doesn't compared. It was excellent! Seafood was fresh and broth was spicy! It could easily be in the 1st or 2nd place competing with my top rated place at a restaurant in Bar Harbor, Maine. Also tried their salted caramel cheesecake. They make their own caramel and it was delicious. Definitely will go back when in the area for the fish stew.

Solid pub with pretty decent staples. My steak was rare while I ordered medium rare, which is actually great, because I love it rare but usually don't order it. Appetizers were spotty with the scallops being a bit small. Everything else was relatively great: lots of options and a stunning, authentic environment hidden away nicely. Service was definitely professional and I think the steak was a fluke.

Best Lamb Shepherd Pie ever. Wanted to try this restaurant for years. Finally did it. They don't use ground meat. Lamb cubes instead. Amazingly tender.

Great spot, warm and inviting. Food was excellent as was our server. We will definitely be back soon.

Excellent food, atmosphere, and waitress! Will be returning for sure! I believe I posted a negative review before confusing with another restaurant and I apologize, we have been traveling and eating out at many places with similar names. The food here was amazing!

Good service, good food. Skip the patio at dinner time unless you don't mind train whistles in your ear every ten minutes!

Came here on a random Friday afternoon. Good food, solid beer list and friendly bartender. Would come here again.

Known locally as "The Chat," it's tucked away in a neighborhood overlooking Dudley Pond, in what began life as a private fishing lodge nearly a century ago before becoming a speakeasy and eventually the local institution it is today. It definitely shows its age--and I mean that affectionately. (The Dudley Chateau) The building is well worn, it gets packed, it can be loud, and yes, the restrooms have seen better days. None of that has stopped us from coming back several times a year. Why? Because the food is consistently excellent, and so is the service. The menu goes well beyond what you'd expect from a neighborhood pub, and we've yet to leave disappointed. The staff somehow manages to stay friendly, attentive, and efficient even when the place is buzzing. The Dudley Chateau isn't trying to be trendy or upscale, and that's part of its charm. It's comfortable in its own skin, and so are the people who keep coming back. If you're looking for spotless, quiet, and polished, this probably isn't your place. But if you're looking for great food, friendly service, and a genuine local institution with plenty of character, it's absolutely worth the visit.
