    Eviction Notice

I paid for 3 months membership only to go to get my brows done less than a week after purchasing the package. There is an eviction notice on the door at the Westfield Culver City location. Do not renew your membership with them.

Honestly it's a hit or miss with this place. Some days I leave and feel great and some days I ask myself why did I come here again?! it's quick and convenient and the price is affordable but you never know how your eyebrows are going to look after. You have to be very specific with what you want and even then they might mess it up. I've been trying to find a new place for eyebrows but everyone charges so much nowadays so it's $12(plus tip) compares to $30 or $35 ( plus tip). Once I find someone who can do my eyebrows really nice I will most likely not be coming back here. It's just convenient because of the location and hours. The wait is sometimes very long and sometimes no wait at all. Just make sure you tell them specifically what you want so they don't make your eyebrows super thin.

    Both brows were nicked.

I have been coming to shapes for several years (since I was a teen) now. But recently I got my eyebrows done and was nicked and cut for the first time. I didn't go to my usual brow artist. Other concerns arise from this, as I see others also complain about the same issue. How are they properly disinfecting their tools to prevent the spread of blood-borne illnesses? While I was there, the employee doused the tools with a liquid, but it didn't smell like alcohol at all. I wish they had a proper way to keep their tools sterile if they are touching people's nicked and bloody brows with them. Unfortunately, I won't be coming here again.

Went to get a facial and they did a horrible job. They didn't do all of my face, missed many places and just not the best. Very bad.

From the moment I sat down, she really took the time to listen to exactly what I wanted. She didn't rush at all and made sure every detail was perfect. You can tell she truly cares about her work and her clients. My eyebrows have NEVER looked this good -- clean, shaped beautifully, and still natural. She has such a gentle touch and an eye for detail that makes a huge difference. And the whole vibe of the place? So calming. The music she plays is incredibly relaxing and just adds the perfect finishing touch to the experience -- like the cherry on top. If you're even thinking about getting your brows done, go to Mansi. I HIGHLY, highly recommend her and this place. I will definitely be coming back every time!

This was probably the strangest eyebrow threading experience I've had…read more I stopped in for a quick eyebrow threading and tint. The younger employee who was helping me was kind, but while I was trying to explain what I wanted, an older woman repeatedly talked over me so the younger employee couldn't even hear me. It came across as incredibly rude and unprofessional. I don't know why some people think it's acceptable to speak over their employees like that, especially in front of customers. It created an uncomfortable atmosphere from the very beginning. After I had to move my car, I came back and asked if I could use the restroom before my appointment. I was told they don't have a restroom for customers, so I said I would cancel the tint and just do the threading because I needed to leave sooner. Only after I said I wanted to cancel the tint did they suddenly tell me I could use the neighboring business's restroom if I told them I came from their salon. At that point it was the principle of the matter. If you're unwilling to accommodate customers until they're about to cancel a service, it doesn't leave a great impression. Even after I explained I wanted to cancel the tint, I was repeatedly asked if I wanted to keep it anyway. I finally had to say I was ready to check out because I was becoming uncomfortable. The threading itself was okay overall, although the left eyebrow was noticeably more painful than the right. What made the experience even more uncomfortable was that the older woman stood there watching the younger employee perform the entire service. Instead of allowing the technician to work independently, she hovered over her the whole time, making it feel like I was sitting in the middle of a training evaluation rather than enjoying a relaxing appointment. Getting your eyebrows done should be a pleasant experience. Instead, the atmosphere felt tense, uncomfortable, and unnecessarily stressful. She also had the audacity to ask me out of nowhere if I had cash or only a card for no benefit to myself. Only a card you're welcome for the payment. I have cash but not for you. Unfortunately, I won't be returning. One other thing that stood out: I arrived around 4:30 PM, and the business advertises that it's open until 7:30 PM. When I first came in, I also asked about getting a brow lamination, but I was told I had to make an appointment in advance. That's perfectly fine if that's their policy. However, when I left, there were no customers in the salon and both technicians were available. One of them even asked if I wanted to schedule a lamination appointment, but by that point I declined. I came in ready to pay for threading, a tint, and a brow lamination, but because of the overall experience, I ended up getting only the threading. That's a completely preventable loss of business and an unfortunate example of customer service driving away a paying customer. UPDATE: To the terrible manager Raman who responded below. I see why the service is the way it is. What part of talking over a customer don't you understand? Is it reading minds or talking over customers the only two options to you and your unprofessionalism? Yes, I was told there was free parking in the back. I moved my car to the back and there was no open parking in your spots and I told you all that, you twit. So what's your point aside from showing your aggressive temper with baseless retaliatory points as a "manager?" And who said I felt pain in my upper lip? You need to take a breather lol. Your response below says a lot about you and you as a representative of this establishment.

I always thought threading was the best option in terms of precision. I'll admit, when I first inquired about pricing, I was a bit taken aback because it was definitely more expensive than what I was used to paying for threading. But I decided to give it a try to see if it was overpriced or truly worth the investment. I can say without a doubt it is absolutely worth the cost. I met with Jessa for a consultation, and I was amazed by how incredible my brows looked after she waxed, tweezed, and tinted them. She is so gentle, and I barely felt any discomfort compared to threading or other waxing experiences I've had. My brows have honestly never looked this good. I don't wear much makeup, but I know how important brows are in framing your face, and Jessa gets them perfect every time. I've now been coming here and seeing Jessa monthly for the past few months, and her skill and attention to detail are consistently outstanding. This place and especially Jessa is worth every penny. Highly recommend.

I tend to be dramatic but I would literally throw myself in front of a speeding car for Gohar mainly because my picture in the paper would feature the best brows I've had since before I discovered anxiety plucking. Located in the Burbank hairtown, this cash only joint is fairly unassuming from the outside. Most brow places have you sitting upright at a counter, or hunched over at a kiosk. Here, you're laying down on a comfy reclining table in a private room in the back so no discomfort or gawking. She takes her time to discuss your brows with you, what you want, what your goals are before she works. She's appointment only because of this. She doesn't rush, she doesn't gab or get distracted by coworkers, your face is her priority. With her array of wax, threading, tweezers and etc she works the best gameplan for your brows and gets to work talking to you about what she's doing as she goes. She takes her time to make sure everything is perfect and even. Because I'm patchy and my brows look like trampled golf terrain due to bad waxes from other more expensive places, she recommended using castor oil to help regrow the sparse areas. She sells castor oil but doesn't push it and even recommends buying in bulk online if you want a ton of it. I bought a small 2 dollar bottle from her to try it out. She's warm, friendly, a perfectionist and a delicate hand. Also parking is easy which sells me on 90% of things.
