I am not the first or the last to file a complaint about the hours of operation not being respected by their "techs". Oh and don't bother calling the corporate office they will only say they are putting you on hold and hang up. I went Sunday when they are suppose to open at 12 and they were closed. I went Tuesday at 12ish ,when they are suppose to open at 10. They were closed. I went today (Thursday) at 7:08 and she said they were closed. They are suppose to close at 9pm. Do not waste your time coming here. First, they know that their credit card machine does not work and they allow you to sit through a service without telling you that before hand. Then once your service is over they inconvenience you by making you jump through hoops to go get cash and before you leave they ask for your phone number so they intend on harassing you. They ask several times if you are a member with them or if you are willing to buy a coupon or a membership card so you can come back to their store. I absolutely love the way these ladies have done my eyebrows. I used to always, always, always get my eyebrows waxed until once I needed them done so badly and was on my lunch break I came here. They completely transformed my eyebrows! I went back to work a new woman! I trusted every single one of them to do my eyebrows and never have I ever been so trustworthy of ladies doing my eyebrows since I had gotten them done by the same lady for 6 years until she got shut down. I purchased a $100 credit in June. The cashier said they were not giving gift cards any more. She said I only needed to give them my cell number and the credit would be there. I went back today for a service and why was I not surprised when I was told that the system does not show my $100 credit! I say I was not surprised because this is not the first time I have had problems with their "system" either not working or not showing my correct balance. The employee said she was calling corporate and that they would fix the problem and would call me. I have not received a call. Why am I not surprised! I have been going here for many years and I think I have finally decided I need a new place. About 2 weeks ago, I went right after work (at 5 pm) and was told to come back in 30-40 minutes. The techs had their purse on and were walking out, during business hours!! The tech I like, Karen, is never really there and I have tried using the other techs and I just don't like their work. I'm literally crying as I write this review. I recently moved to the area and I've always got my eyebrows threaded so I made the HUGE mistake of coming here and trying them out. First time I go the "system" is down. So they said it'll only have to be cash. Since it was my first time there I didn't think anything of it and I actually paid cash and joined their membership program. HUGE MISTAKE DONT DO IT!!!! Then I went back because the first tech left my eyebrows with a bunch of hair. So I went back and that tech left me with a weird box shape eyebrow. Both times I went I was with my kids so I really didn't check my brows until I got home which is my mistake. Today I went and it will be my last time. I literally cried to this tech because she messed up my eyebrows. She took my arch off and left me with straight thin eyebrows!! I am sooo upset. I should of read their reviews first before trying them because obviously I'm not the only one. The tech was sooooo RUDE saying she doesn't understand what I want? Like you messed up my eyebrow lady. Being new to town, I was looking for a place to get my caterpillars tamed...er...brows waxed. So, I dropped by s.h.a.p.e.s. Brow Bar to get a quick eye & lip wax. Bad decision! I'm yelping for more reason than one! My first yelps were uttered during the process which HURT! Never having had threading done before, I don't know if this is normal. But I get my brows waxed every 3 weeks so I'm no stranger to pain. Sooo..the jury is out on whether the tech was normal or a sadist. (I vote sadist) But since I am a newbie to threading, I wouldn't have given 1 star for that reason alone. The biggest problem is that I have a cut in my skin from the process. No matter what she was doing, I should not have been awarded a purple heart because I just wanted my unruly brows shaped. The final insult? My eyebrows are really uneven. While I can appreciate the God given, manly beauty of The Rock, I have no desire to look like I'm mimicking his trademark single raised eyebrow look 24/7. Suffice it to say, I'll never go back. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I have been coming to this location for 2 years. I initially purchased a membership for my daughter. Because she was a minor, they told me the membership had to be in my name because she didn't have an ID. No problem at all. I never had any issues. I started coming to the location and I decided to purchase a membership also but because I had my daughter membership under my phone number they said I needed to give them another phone number. No problem at all. We continued going to this location and I renewed our membership every 3 months. Today my daughter goes in to get her eyebrows done and they asked her for her phone number and then an ID. She said I don't have an ID. The membership is in my mother's name. So they said oh no you need to pay. I come in to the store and she tells me my daughter doesn't have a membership and I need to pay for her. I explain to her about our 2 memberships and she says but they are both for you. So I tell her why would I have two separate memberships for myself at the same time? And all of the workers are looking around at each other. They call a manager who says he doesn't understand why I have two memberships. At this point I am angry because we have been coming there for so long and I have never had an issue but today they wanted me to pay them after I purchased a membership that they talked me in to getting. I asked for my money back from the membership and they said no. I was beyond angry. Moral of the story: do not purchase memberships. Just pay your $11 and go on about your way. Also watch the prices. Sometimes I am charged $5 for threading of the upper lip and another lady charges $7. It's weird because no one can ever explain why the prices change from one person to another. There is one lady that does a horrible job on your eyebrows. She makes them thin no matter what you tell her. I don't know her name but she is really tall with thin eyebrows herself. If you go to anyone, there is an older lady who does them perfect every time but I only see her on Sunday's. read more

The place is nice, but the customer service is terrible! None of the ladies ever smile, greet you or say have a good day. They barely even make eye contact. Yet, they do ask if you are giving tip, and they expect it?!?!??! I am all about giving tip for a good service, and most of them do not give good service. A few of them do a really good job, but most of them don't, so find the one that works for you and try to get you eyebrows done by the same person everytime. I've been a regular customer of Shapes Brow Bar for about 4 years (one year with the Woodlands location and three years with the Willowbrook location). This review is strictly about the Willowbrook location. Reading through other customers' reviews, I see that I'm not the only person who has been experiencing awkward customer service from the staff at the Willowbrook location. For years, I've been paying for their 3-month membership where you get unlimited eyebrow threading. At the Willowbrook location, I chose to only see Ikara (not sure of the spelling) because I loved the way she arched my eyebrows. I learned quickly that all of the technicians at this location don't know how to arch eyebrows based off of a customer's request of style. They only know how to thread one eyebrow shape. Over time, I started getting a lot of slack from other technicians when I would request Ikara. If Ikara wasn't there and I was willing to let another person do my eyebrows, they would downright refuse service to me for petty reasons. So sure enough, I called today to see if Ikara would be working since I didn't feel like driving all the way to Willowbrook and get hassle from other technicians. I was informed that Ikara is on vacation until May and I was hysterically laughed at because the lady said that they get mad when customers request certain technicians. Oh well...not my problem. Over half of your technicians suck at what they do. They all know how to thread eyebrows, but all of them don't know how to ARCH eyebrows. My membership expired last week and now is the perfect time to find a new and closer eyebrow threading shop. The service just isn't worth the drive anymore. read more

Not only that but she did not thread my brows correctly, there was still some hairs that were completely noticeable that needed to be removed and when I brought it up to her attention she got upset and caught an attitude and then she has the audacity to request a tip. The franchise owner needs to conduct mystery shops to assess these employees. Nowadays EVERY WOMAN wants fabulous brows but they also want someone to take the approach of really "giving a damn." These women working here don't care what you really think and won't instead spend time trying to understand. They began speaking in their native language the minute I expressed dislike for my brow outcome. I wasn't loud disruptive or disrespectful but every woman cannot look the same! Plus I'm a 48 year old woman who does not want to look like the trendy 23 year old. The website is very thorough and sells you on the business but this location does not live up to it. They took my money more than likely talked about me in my face and went to the next customer. Funny thing is these types of businesses don't always last long, I only know of one that's been around for a long time, Aisha's in the Houston market. I have been threading my eyebrows for nearly 20 years; LONG before it became trendy. I enjoy the process and the way my face and eyebrows feel after having them done. I found this place when I moved back to Houston and was just walking the the mall. Like anything else, it takes some trial and error to find which person does the better job. You also have to know what to ask for and how to make sure they're listening to what you tell them. You also need to know your pain tolerance and what you can handle. I don't like when they're short staffed or the cashier girl isn't there. They rely on her heavily and become disorganized when she's not there. read more

UNACCEPTABLE. Where do I start? I went to the main shaped bar inside the mall (not the kiosk) I was in a hurry I had 30 mins to spare before my hair appointment and I figured let me get my brows tamed really quick. Well nope didn't happen. I get there and another lady is already waiting too but yet THERE ARE NO EMPLOYEES! I asked her what was going on & she said she's been waiting for someone to show up but it doesn't look like anyone was working. First off the place is open.. and the lady had even gone to the back to check and nobody was there!! Smh. How do you leave a work place unattended??? We both signed our names, sat and waited and nothing. A couple minutes later another lady walks in with her baby and we tell her what's going and and she's confused as well. She said there's a kiosk on the other side of the mall and we are like welp let's go check that out. I forgot to mention we called the number too thinking it would reach the kiosk so we can see if someone is working there but the number reached that brow bar. Anyways 2 of us go and check the kiosk and we ask them if anyone was there at the main brow bar and they said there should be and we explained the issue. They didn't even call to see what was going on they just ignored it and by that time I had to leave to my hair appointment. I wasted 20 Minutes just trying to get my eyebrows threaded. I walked passed the brow bar and I see the original lady at the brow bar now waiting in a long long line to do her eyebrows. I walk in and talk to her and she said the employees finally got there and said they went to get coffee. Wow. Why couldn't one of y'all go?? You do not leave a work place unattended. My daughter need to have her eyebrows arched for her Senior pictures and I decided to go to the Shapes Brow Bar located in Willowbrook Mall. I called ahead to make sure that this location was open. The woman that I spoke with on the phone told me that no appointment was necessary and that I could just walk in. She told me that the kiosk was located nears Sears. It was not! It was located on the opposite end of the mall. The kiosk was cleaned out and no one was there. When I called the number back, no one answered. I drove 15 minutes to this location. If I could give negative stars I would. The ladies in this place seem to always have an attitude that I'm not happy about. One of the ladies wears the same gloves all day and says that's her only pair and she can't wash her hands, and had nerve to have an attitude about it. Your hours of operation state you are open from noon - 6pm on Sundays, the manager might want to communicate this to their staff. This evening my daughter and I walked into this location at 5:45 and there was no one else there but 3 employees. They quickly informed us that they were closed. They had already started cleaning and their registers were closed. We both have paid memberships and visit often. These employees see us regularly, we are not problematic and always tip. I am extremely disappointed that they would turn us away like that. They told us we should have gotten there earlier because they close at 5:30. I asked them where does it say anywhere that you close at 5:30 pm??? I thought you close at 6pm?! If what your employees said is true, do not advertise that you are open until 6 on Sundays! That is not how a business should operate!! We won't be renewing our memberships when they expire. We will be taking our business elsewhere. Before I was seen the Customer before had issues with her membership, apparently they don't give receipts to track membership expiration dates. They made the lady pay and then after she left they kept talking about her and laughing about it. The lady was so rude and kept snapping back at the customer. Then it was my turn, they did my eyebrows. When it came time to pay I paid with a $20 and my total was $16.50. They didn't even have a cash register open! They kept asking people if they had cash. It got to the point were I just walked out, came back and asked for the manager. They said they didn't have one and so I asked for their names. Wilowbrook Mall Location has poor customer service. I have had bad experiences inside the store and at the outside kiosk. I came to renew my $45 membership, but had to pay $13 for awful eyebrow service! I wait for 20 minutes and the woman grabs the customer who came in AFTER me...they didn't even look at the list?!? What's the point of having a freaking list if you don't even go by it?! I'm not one to complain but this has happened to me not once but TWICE. The first time I let it go because I understand people make mistakes but come on! Get your business together! Nobody is friendly, they always look miserable! Yes, not everybody likes their job I get it, but when you look/act like it your customers don't even want to be there either. I'm new to the area and was referred to this spot for eyebrow threading. I liked the setup, however it can get pretty packed on the weekend (Saturday especially). I've only been once and I have no complaints. They have 3 or 4 chairs, I believe, with a different threader at each. Even if there is a wait (which there was when I went) it isn't long. I'm giving them 5 stars because I have the oddest eyebrows EVER!! They are hard to shape and they aren't symmetrical. The lady cleaned them up nicely and I have no complaints. Next time, though, I may tell her to give me more of an arch. read more
