I ordered pretzels for Super Bowl Sunday (Go Birds!) and they made my Philly-girl heart so happy.

I love their traditional Bratwurst and their salads. Their Caesar is my favorite. They also make great pretzels. All of their food is good and try the chicken soup. It is tasty. The place is just so cute and it is kept spotless. The bathrooms are always clean and stocked. The service is wonderful. The entire staff is great and they can guide you through the menu. They are fast but they don't rush you. It is just a comfortable place to be. Some nights that have live music which is such fun. I think they have a TV but I avoid it, but I know they show sports. Everything on the menu is great. If you love German food and the best selection of German beer, this is the place for you.

The Jager Schnitzel was wonderful. Crispy, juicy chicken, with that deep, rich, creamy, mushroom sauce! The Red Cabbage gives a great sour/vinegar to cut through the richness/fat. The spatzel was good. The potato pancakes were small, but deliciously crunchy, soft, salty. Loved the applesauce, sour cream and lemon, brightens it up. I also tried my daughter's French fries, great double fried! The flan special was good. Very Sweet. *Overall, you want German, come here*

We didn't get a chance to order food so next time maybe we will try. Overall the party we attended had a good chill time outdoors. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. I ordered the chicken schnitzel with mushroom gravy, my boyfriend got the Hungarian brat with spaetzle, and our friend ordered the Hungarian brat on a roll. Starting with the schnitzel: it wasn't completely terrible, but it definitely wasn't good. The breading was some what soggy and sliding off the chicken, and the chicken itself had almost no seasoning besides an odd lemony sourness. The mashed potatoes were honestly awful -- extremely sour, like they were overloaded with sour cream but missing butter, salt, or any real flavor. I LOVE mashed potatoes and only managed two bites before giving up. The red cabbage was overcooked, mushy, and had a slightly off taste. Overall, the schnitzel plate was maybe a 2/10, and those points go solely to the fact that the chicken itself was technically edible. My boyfriend's meal somehow managed to be worse. The bratwurst was fine, but tasted frozen and reheated rather than fresh. The sauerkraut, according to him, "tasted like dirty socks." The spaetzle was genuinely offensive -- mushy, overly bland, and tossed with what looked like hydrated diced mushrooms that literally tasted like dirt. I honestly questioned whether it had gone bad. Beyond the food, the restaurant itself felt dirty and had a strange smell throughout. It honestly seems like a place locals may still visit out of habit or convenience, but it no longer reflects what I imagine it once was. It's unfortunate, because there's something special about a restaurant that's been around for 65 years and still tries to maintain its old-school charm. Sadly, the food and cleanliness just don't live up to that legacy anymore. Save your money unless you're only stopping in for an overpriced German draft beer. We definitely won't be back.

We were daunted by the 1.5 hr drive to where we were staying and hoped that eating closer would save some time later. It did! Rasselbock is a bit hidden away but we found it with street metered parking nearby. We had arranged for a reservation but we hardly needed it. The place was mostly empty when we arrived. Music was thumping, and not German music. It was classic rock but a touch too loud. So keep that in mind. I appreciated that they had Erdinger beer. That's some of the best beer around. I chose the non alcoholic since I had a drive ahead. I was told it might not be cold enough and the server brought me the bottle to sample it by touch. I cheerfully noted Germans don't drink very cold beer and it was fine. My wife and I ordered schnitzels, she chicken and I pork. She had the Oma's potato salad - which with mustard and mayo really would not have passed muster with a real Oma like mine. She reported it was good anyway. I had spaetzle and cucumber dill salad. The kids both had a bratwurst, salad and fries. On the whole the schnitzels were good. Not entirely authentic but USA-good enough. I'd say the same for my spaetzle and salad. One kid liked the bratwurst, one didn't. I found what I tried of the sausage to be pretty good. The stone ground mustard was particularly good. Service was a little slow to start but the food came quickly and we were off. A 4.2 rounds to a flat 4. German food is hard to come by anywhere, so I welcome it. Especially with a good selection of beer. They serve multiple sizes included a liter "mass." Sounds great but I think those days are behind me. Definitely worth a try.

Surrounded by many competitors and many great Asian restaurants and Japanese novelty shops. Parking can be a challenge. There are limited metered parking spots on the streets and many paid parking garages nearby which I would recommend. Parking on residential streets is at your risk only as they have complex rules about when the parking is allowed and when it requires a resident permit. You may get a ticket worth several trips to paid parking garage :D Venue 4 stars: Medium-sized facility with indoor and outdoor seating. Eclectic indoors with high ceilings, unique coffee roasting/grinding/brewing paraphernalia, and large woven burlap (aka jute) coffee bags, adorning the walls. Very unique! Food and Drinks 4 stars: Some very unique offerings, such as Red Bean and Sweet Potato Lattes, and a large selection of pretzels with interesting fillings, including Jalapeno Cheese, Red Bean Cheese, and sweet Potato Cheese. They are however limited on sandwiches and pastries. We had the Cold Brew Iced Coffee, the Sweet Potato Cheese Pretzel and the Jalapeno Cheese Pretzel, and all were great. Prices are on par with similar coffee places.
