I genuinely do not know how Mitzi does it. My son is very stubborn. Totally does not want a haircut. I try to wait as long as I can in between cuts. Recently, I had to get it done because we have an upcoming wedding that he is in. My son is thrashing and throwing a hissy fit. He's only a year and a half but somehow for the third time, Mitzi was able to manage the situation with professionalism and a calm nature and resulted with a fabulous haircut for him. Made a appt with Megan for my son haircut . Got a notification that my son's appt got changed . I assumed it was just the Time . We there early for our appt . Notice Megan was not there . I gave the only lady there the benefit of the doubt and let my son sit in the chair with her . I told her we wanted a trim to make it even all around. . My son has long hair and for a reason . She started the haircut and she kept getting annoyed and rolled her eyes every time my son would move or NOT LOOK DOWN I nicely told her how is he gonna look down when there tv's are high . She rudely turn off the tv . . I reminded her again I only want a trim as she got scissor happy and cut away . She said I heard you when I told her . She told me she couldn't perfect his hair cut bc she couldn't get the back of the neck I told her it was ok I just wanted to be even in the back . At this point his hair cut was fine I could easily fix it at home myself . But she continued to cut . My son got of the chair with more than a trim and plus . I don't know if she did this out of spite or not . I will not be coming here again I don't even think my son is gonna need a haircut in MONTHS to grow back what that lady took . I made an appointment to take my son to Sharkys in Marietta yesterday. I had been to one other one in a different location and LOVED it, so I saw this one was closer to my home, and my son couldn't wait to go because he loved playing on the Xbox at the other one and we had such a good experience. Let me tell you - if I could give this place a -10 stars, I would. We had Clinton. Not only did he RUSH through my sons hair faster than I have ever seen anyone cut someone's hair in my entire life, but he COMPLETELY BUTCHERED IT. I am genuinely not sure if he just didn't care and put zero effort in, or if he truly has no idea how to cut hair. I want to add that I had an appointment at 5:20pm and they were behind, so it was 5:50pm when he finally got to my son, and they were closing in 10 minutes. Because of this, I was standing there watching him hack away at my son's hair carelessly, and rushing through it as fast as possible on top of that, as I mentioned above. As I was standing there, I was watching this happen and was slightly horrified. It was looking worse and worse by the second. But as some parents probably do, you stand there hoping it'll all come together in the end, right? That's what I was thinking anyway. When Clinton said he was done, and I saw the end result, I was just straight up baffled. But, me not being a super confrontational person, I quietly and hesitantly started telling him it didn't look right to me (that was me putting it NICELY). He immediately got flustered and annoyed and asked me what he wanted me to do. I started pointing out all the flaws asking if he could fix this and fix that etc. as nicely as I could put it since I hate awkward situations, and he was getting more and more annoyed. But, the best part? As ANGRY as I am that he was that rude and careless with my son and my son's hair right before EASTER weekend, that's not even what I'm the most mad about. What infuriates me to my core, is how MRS. MITZI came running over asking what's wrong and when I showed her, she said to me, "what's wrong with it?" I was dumbfounded at her response. She was completely gaslighting me. I was as nice as could be to Clinton AND her, until she started just blatantly attacking me. Raising her voice, telling me "EVERYONE CUTS HAIR DIFFERENTLY!!!!" as if I'm some MORON and actually going to believe that. When I tell you that I am OUTRAGED from MRS. MITZI'S behavior is an UNDERSTATEMENT. I have NEVER in my 33 years on this earth been so disrespected, humiliated, and yelled at to the point where I literally broke down in tears in the parking lot, as I have from her in that shop yesterday. She KNEW he messed up. She KNEW he butchered it. And she KNOWS he can't cut hair. As I now know this from the review that was left on here 3 weeks ago from Leah McAlpin about HER son's hair that was done by Clinton. Yet Mrs. Mitzi sat there basically screaming at ME like I did something wrong. Like THEY weren't the ones who made the mistake!!! If they literally would have just been like, "we're so sorry, Clinton is still new and still learning" or whatever the excuse was, just an apology would have made it all better honestly. But to turn on ME like that, when I wasn't even being nasty or raising my voice at the slightest. Not to mention, I'M the one who kept saying I was sorry and repeatedly saying I wasn't trying to cause problems but his hair is a mess. What infuriates me more is how she was acting like I was being nasty to my child or something? I wasn't even saying anything to my child. I was speaking to them about my child's hair. My son is my everything. If he looked scared it was because of the way that woman was yelling at his mother. Mrs. Mitzi, how DARE you act like I was the problem. I will be doing everything I can to post this ALL OVER social media, yelp, and wherever else I can, to spread this like WILDFIRE! I walked out without paying and went right down the sidewalk in the same parking lot to SportClips where I broke down in tears. They took us in, were SO SWEET, and did a TREMENDOUS JOB. read more

I spent $35+tip on a haircut at Sharkeys on Sat only to spend $25+tip at another barbershop on Mon to fix what Sharkeys did. Plus they say "LGBTQ friendly" but one staff member tried to approach me about my son sitting with his legs crossed and they've second guessed him on more than one occasion when he asked for nail polish. The kids like it but in the interest of fiscal responsibility and emotional safety for my kids, we won't be back. I called today to make an appointment for my son. When I asked if they could look up who my son used she said she knew who I was referring to and she wasn't there. I said I might try and find her. Because obviously when you find someone who does a good job on a child you want to stick with them. She rudely told me she's in Stone Mountain and hung up on me. Even though I was trying to make an appointment anyways in case I couldn't find her. But since she rudely hung up on me she lost a customer for good. Customer service seems a thing of a past for some reason. And then companies wonder why they lose business. It doesn't cost a dime to be nice but man it goes a long way. I am a loyal and devoted Sharkey's customer. Ms Terri cut my daughter's crazy mop of curls just how I wanted and she loves being pampered. All of the stylists are patient and great with little kids. They paint my son's nails if he wants them without being judgy. I had a not-amazing experience with the newest stylist, but she didn't do a bad job (didn't take off as much as I asked for), but she did a good cut overall. Every cut my son has had has been on point and grew in really well and he has Autism, so isn't always an easy customer. read more

My daughter has been here several times and really enjoys getting her hair cut. She loves the little extras like the mail polish, clip and ring. All the stylists are friendly and talkative and do an adequate job. They are a little rough with tangles on the young girls but get the job done. I had to take a star off because I was charged a higher price than quoted online as well as a "tippy fee" of around a dollar for the privilege of using their payment system. Stylist and owner yelled at me in front of my autistic son. They didn't like that I asked when we would be seen when it was after our appointment time. Prior to this appointment my son had seen a guy named Andre, I believe was his name, he literally made my son cry and told him not to use autism as an excuse. He graded my son against my daughter saying that she listened better and got an A while my son got a C. I honestly really tried with this place and gave them the benefit of the doubt....no longer. This hair salon for kids is truly awesome. My 4 year-old grandson has previously had horrible visits for a cut from other places. Regular men's barber shops I guess were too rough for him or something as he would flail and twist and cry. But the experience at Sharkeys in Marietta was fabulous! Eli was happy with his Mickey roadster. And Nikki, you were so gentle, you stopped to put on powder when his neck itched, you loosened the collar when he said the cape was too tight, you helped him work through the feeling of the clippers. I took two of my girls and it was an awesome experience. They were mesmerized by the TVs and cars to sit in. We upgraded to tinsel in their hair and a little nail polish and it was totally worth it. Just an overall awesome experience. I also saw two other customers whose kids were crying during our appointment and somehow the staff magically made the kids feel better and they were able to finish their haircuts. took my daughter for her first girls haircut today and Terri was amazing! She is so talented bc she was able to give my daughter some style for her curly/wavy hair. I didn't have to guide her much at all - she even used texturizing razor to give her movement in her hair. My daughter LOVED it and felt so confident leaving bc of how terri engaged with her. It was such a special experience for her and for me! this isn't like other chain shops where you're just another number - they actually take their time and well worth the cost! Amazing place and experience!! The only hair salon I will bring my son from here on out. My son has special needs, and up until finding Sharkey's, getting him a haircut was a nightmare. He has a strong aversion to anyone touching his head or hair. He would scream, thrash, and fight, and we would always leave with him in tears. But Sharkey's environment is welcoming and so much fun for kids. The large tv screens in front of each chair are great for distraction. They also have video games and dress up costumes. Ashley was patient and did a fantastic job. My son didn't look upset once. And his hair has never looked so good! Now, we actually look forward to getting his haircut. We are really unhappy with our experience. We told the stylist not to use clippers on our 2 year old. She ignored the request and went ahead anyway. In the process she skinned the back of our son's head giving him an uneven shave. The rest of the haircut looks terrible -an uneven bowl cut - imagine the movie Dumb and Dumber. Refuse to go anywhere else to get their hair cut so now we travel 40 min just for their hair cut and honestly it's worth it!
